  • So weird not seeing the giant Bergner’s sign on that building. I haven’t been in this mall in over 20 years. Good to see it still running.

  • Illinois is like two different states politically 1. The Chicago area with the suburbs is overwhelmingly democrat 2. Downstate Illinois and rural Illinois is mostly republican except for some college towns and Rockford and the Illinois side of the Quad cities

  • We love when we come to Quincy and see Larry Dancing.. my Girls always want to honk and wave at him.. They get a kick out of it.. It always makes our day.. keep on Dancing Larry.. we look forward to it..

  • Was that an Aladdin’s Castle arcade you passed by, just before the 9 minute mark? If so, I’m impressed that’s still there! Kinda wish you had briefly stopped when you walked by there for a look at the sign for that arcade, but that’s okay.

Have to say for a smaller Illinois city/town, this is doing better than Northfield Square near Kankakee, and the former Sandburg Mall just before that shut down in Galesburg. Both these 2 malls I have visited, in the past. Hadn’t visited there yet but had seen a few videos of Peru Mall (including from Mall Aholic), and Quincy appears to be doing better than Peru!

I’m super impressed with this mall, since whoever owns it is obviously doing a decent job running it. And to be honest, I wouldn’t mind visiting here one of these days! It was a lot more filled with stores, than I thought it would be for a small Midwest city/town mall. Would be nice to get a store (maybe Dunham’s?), to fill one of the anchor vacancies like Sears.

  • I like the green tile in parts of the mall. I’m glad they didn’t take down the drop ceiling and make it feel like a warehouse. Thanks for the tour.

  • Ok, enjoyed the tour through parts of Quincy but you missed a lot of Quincy’s real beauty! South Park overlooking the mighty Mississippi, gorgeous Maine Street with all it’s beautiful homes and Broadway where most of the action is happening. Every city has it’s high and low points but please return and take the two opportunities you had to stroll down Maine and Broadway then venture into South Park for optimum views. Go on a sunny day! Thanks for your data and insights.
