To avoid hitting the snooze button, wake up to your favorite workout song or try other tricks like moving your alarm clock across the room. These three simple tips will help you get that morning workout in. There’s one more key to successFind workouts you enjoy.

If I don’t get enough rest the night before, there’s a high chance that my morning workout is not going to happen, so rest is key. If I need to be up by 630am or so, then I’m winding down by 10pm, either by reading a book or watching TV, and in bed by 11ish (sometimes even earlier). The more morning obstacles you have, the more excuses you’ll cling to and the more likely you’ll be to ditch your morning workout. Pre-workout: try keeping things as simple as possible.   • Morning excercisers may be more disciplined but if not just being fit but being athletic matters than falling out of bed and revving your engine will not make you better.Your body is no where near ready to improve performance 15 minutes after hugging a pillow.You can morning run for years and be in great shape.But my bet is the guy who trains after work covers ground faster.His body has been all day moving.His quality of workout on average is much better.

  • I lost about 80 lbs. slowly since Jan 2017, I’m in my 60’s. I dumped all processed foods and I do 30 mins of elliptical everyday in addition to working out for a couple hours every other day. On workout days I do 3 sets of 40 proper push ups as a part of my workout. I remember back when I started in 2017 I struggled to do on push up (I also struggled to tie my sneakers). Give it time and eat right. I never counted calories until I was at about 26 bmi or so when I stagnated, then I used the excel worksheet from this site. I’m also off all medication for high blood pressure and cholesterol, blood pressure now normal, blood work normal and bmi 23.

  • It is enough to do this three times a week if you push it to your heart rate limit and not time. Once a week do a really hard resistance training of main compound moves. Do low carb intermittent fasting and train fasted.

  • I tried this today after my usual two mile run and 20 minute Bowflex ride. I’m well over 70 and have worked out my whole life.
    This workout will get you attention. It is a substantial challenge-at least for an old guy.
    I’m going to do it three times a week for several weeks. I vary my workouts every six to eight weeks.

  • I workout 15 minutes in the morning. Then 15 minutes in the early evening. That’s it. My routine is different but is very effective. When I was much younger (I am 70) my rountine was 3 alternating sets of 50 pushups/situps/squat-thrusts. Total time was about 30 minutes followed by a 10 minute cool down. Then it was off to work. After work was another 30 minute workout followed by a 10 minute cool down. That was my Mon.-Fri. routine. Sat./Sun. were spent playing several hours of volleyball or basketball.

  • Thanks for the video looks like a good work out. I’m out the door early in the AM and don’t get time for a work out so I’ll try this when I’m home in the evening. I do have one question though about the Burpee I’ve seen other demonstrations and it was squat, push up then jump. I’m assuming the because you are doing the push ups separately you’ve taken them out of the Burpee?

  • It is not easy to do all four exercises in interval of 10 secs each. It looks like just 7 minutes. For the beginners, it should be a complete no. You should be atleast in between intermediate to advance training routine and in practice.

  • I have been adding gym routine in the morning since few months ago and I feel like it’s highly effective. For past 1 week it was really difficult to wake up at 6 am and felt lazy to workout at gym. But slowly everything changed. I know enjoy every morning exercise daily and it feels really great whole day after working out in the morning.

  • I think that splitting the push-ups and burpees is unnecessary. Just do burpees with a push up while on the ground. If you think that this will not work your legs enough, do squat jumps instead of regular squats, or just try to touch your chest with your knees while jumping up. That´s one less excercise in the workout, saving time.

    Still, this seems kind of harsh for a morning routine. It´s more like a fat burning circuit than a morning warm up. Seems like it would make me less tired in the morning, but then feel exhausted in the afternoon. That´s the experience I have with morning running for instance.

    I’ve dropped from 280 to 240 using Keto and Intermittent fasting. This might help me get rid of the next forty but I’ll have modify them to work my way up. Maybe use a weight bench and do the floor exercises leaning in the beginning.

  • yep. workout before you eat anything in the morning. I’ve been going to the gym (if anyone cares) and I’ve been doing good so far.. I lost 25 pounds in 2 1/2 months. but now I’m stuck at 230.. trying to get down to 200.. going to the gym tomorrow morning. I usually go to the gym for about an hour and ten minutes every other day now. but I noticed that when I worked out first thing in the morning before eating anything, I dropped it much quicker. Consuming whey protein helps you feel full.
