She Lost 215 Pounds With This Mantra: ‘Weight Loss Isn’t Linear’. by Kim Westerman. July 6, 2017. 46 Comments.

As if being a mother of twins wasn’t hard enough, Roxanne Crozier was finding it harder and harder to make time to take care of herself. At the beginning of last year, she was knee-deep in looking after her 2 year olds and paying less attention to her own health as her habits had slipped. It could be a few pounds or it could be a life-changing experience, but weight loss is something that many people struggle with every day. We’re constantly bombarded with images of perfect bodies and transformations that seem to happen overnight when in reality it takes real time and real work.

But the best plan for View Article The post Mom Loses 215 Pounds By Following This Mantra Every. The Australian actress has lost more than 40 lbs., but previously admitted that she has a bit of work to still do to get down to her goal weight of 165 pounds. View this post on Instagram Woo back. I know that weight loss isn’t linear, but I’m still disappointed. OK, so about a month ago I got on the scale at my bariatric surgeon’s office and weighed in at 277.

I began a 1600 calorie/day limit on MFP and started tracking my food. Starting weight: 283lbs. Current Weight: 198!!

I’ve lost 86 lbs and 40 inches (10″ off my stomach alone!). After 25 years of being on the weight loss roller coaster, I’m finally on the path to get off this ride and I want to share! Feel free to skip the ramble and just go skim the bulleted lists:). To date, I’ve lost 153 pounds I take it day by day.

This has taught me patience and has even taught me to slow down and think on a day-by-day, meal-by-meal basis. I feel for the first time in life like I am searching and the journey is the best part. The main thing I’m trying to find now isn’t weight loss. Lost over 100 pounds in a little over a year.” “Weight loss isn’t linear.

Sometimes you won’t lose anything. and more attractive after using such products. My overarching mantra: A. Then there’s potential inaccuracies in logging food/exercise.

Those reasons and more are why weight loss isn’t linear. Stop thinking about is as your body being stuck. That mindset makes it sound like your weight is out of your control. Weight loss and gain are not linear.

You should see loss over the course of 4-6 weeks if you keep to your plan. As of December 2017, Jewel weighed 310 pounds, so she lost 76 pounds. Her mom weighed 224 pounds, bringing her total weight loss to 80 pounds since her surgery in.

Second place went to Jaime! (I never got a before picture, sorry Jaime) But, here is her “after” picture and let me tell you, she looks amazing!!! Jaime started the competition weighing 234.8 pounds, and she lost 40.2 pounds! In 8 weeks!!!

Her weight loss percentage was 17.1%! Great job Jaime!

What mattered was that she was losing weight at the same measured rate of six pounds a week, plus or minus two pounds, and she would go on losing at a decreasing rate until she was down to one hundred and thirty pounds, plus or minus ten pounds.

  • I am paraplegic and have buy your book in german languge. When I eat only salat, non starchvegetable and carbs like potaties I lost now 4 kg ( around 8 pound). But for me is heavy to eat much 3 times the day, because I can’t walk and used electric wheelchair.
But I am so happy the weight go down…Thanks for the great book. ⚘⚘
Maybe therefore sometime I eat in the evening 3 or 4 pieces chocolate and drink Latte Macchiato with plantbased drink, which have fat. This two thinks are bad…the route is the goal..

  • So weird when he started talking about mate matching, anyways I am bizarre in that way because I’d rather provide for myself than be dependant on some guy. It is not happening

  • Intermittent fasting= not eating less calories but minimize the window where’re you eat. (The calorie part I feel is important bc I don’t want people to think you eat less, you actually sometimes eat more!(

  • NB I healed on a raw food diet (5th year along, experiment seems to be working)
Whole foods plant based only took me so far along in health recovery.

  • Very helpful explanations in this video — especially considering the whole world is increasingly telling us to eat more protein and less carbs. I’ve had people tell me this diet must not be right for me if it’s so hard. Dr. Lisle’s explanation about hiking Kilimanjaro with a sprained ankle is a perfect metaphor. I’m watching this one again and taking notes!

  • 53:19 ego trap and pT work together 55:45 maximun intesnisty of eT occurs at peak compliance to avoid PT. 59:05 problem with aiming for perfection; 1:03…”long term excellence…”…..those who benefit did not comply 100% but 80%

  • Thank you so much Adrienne for sharing your weight lost journey, I remember watching you on Chetah Girls my daughter loved you all. You first 15 are amazing. What a blessing to know you have a close walk with God. Putting your spiritual man first it is a true mind set! My husband like yours is a true blessing as well. He is so supportive of any changes. • I have found that lasers have helped my skin so much. I have mild rosacea and if it were not for modern technology, I’d have a face full of broken blood vessels. I think that men often really do not understand how women feel about these issues (Although that is a separate topic from safety). I know there are some risks, but I’d rather take that small risk than live for the rest of my life with “the human condition”. I mean, I drive a car most days, too. Talk about risk to my person, right? And didn’t the human condition also include high infant mortality and infection? I’m just saying that it is not black and white here. I also fasted at True North for seven days last January. I am normal weight and health, but wanted to try it. It was a great experience.

  • I lost 150 pounds being on a plant based diet and I would still cheat ( Vegan Junk food ) but it’s what I do most of the time which is real plant foods without oil. Dr. Lisle made me feel so proud of myself! 1 out of thousand that blew me away! Trust me I’m not perfect and I know the enemy that’s the difference! I also now have great blood pressure and great cholesterol from almost leaving this world, Vegans Rock!

  • I eat mainly WFPB diet, and as a result dropped from 110 Kg to my current weight of 62 Kg. (dont need or want to loose more. BMI= 21. age 64) I have been that way for 3 years but I occasionally eat a bit of fish or Chicken (maybe once every 3 or 4 months)

All my respect to Dr Lisle for having the courage to admit the we humans were also designed to eat meat. Most Vegans will not even entertain the thought.

Whether we need it or not is a different subject.

    Chapeau sir Chapeau.

  • At 36:15 Dr. Lisle starts a 25 minute explanation why indefinite abstinence from unhealthy food should not be the goal. The goal should be to do an excellent job, whether that is to do “B” level work, or “A-” work. It should not be to do “A+” work. I’ve listened to well over 100 hours of Dr. Lisle, and this explanation of how Self-Esteem, The Pleasure Trap, and the Ego Trap interact with healthy eating is one of his best.

Thank you Chef AJ for helping Dr. Lisle share his work.

  • Our instincts want hypercaloric food, but we live in a food desert. Junk food abounds. We are required to fight our instincts to be healthy in this pseudofood environment. This is absurdity but I do it.

  • LOVED THIS, especially about our genetic instinct to eat rich foods for survival, and his 80% goal for whole, natural diet. Many weight-loss coaches suggest just 1 eat-anything “cheat meal” a week, to avoid feeling totally deprived. (That would be 1 out of 21 meals, or 95% whole, natural meals)
TH A N K S Chef AJ! UR So Awesome!

  • Doesn’t salt sugar and fat appear in nature in the form of fruit? I’m thinking like a fig that has sugar, fat from seeds, and I’m sure it has some natural sodium. I eat watermelon seeds to and I’m sure they have that. Just wondering

  • What I said in an other video: I agree with what you said: do not focus on losing weight, focus on being healthy. And what you’ve shown until now is not healthy physically and, more important, mentally.

PLEASE, just came here to tell everyone not to follow their advice. PLEASE. As a person who’s living with another family member that has a mental eating disorder, this concerns me. This is a type of advice that triggers bad eating habits:
just drink water until you don’t feel hungry anymore (even though your body is telling you to fuel yourself with food). WTF?
“eat healthy, not for pleasure” (EATING HEALTHY CAN BE DELICIOUS!, eating healthy doesn’t mean drinking green juice every morning)
Being afraid of foods like bread is NOT HEALTHY, because then you feel bad about yourself when you do eat it. And you will, because it’s yummy, and nutritious. EAT BREAD, EAT PASTA, and don’t feel bad or ashamed, unless you want to make the first steps into an eating disorder.
And please, STOP glamorizing de diet culture and losing weight at all costs. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL IN ALL SIZES and that’s the real meaning behind LOVING YOURSELF. If you want to lose weight that’s okey, but just ask for PROFESSIONAL ADVICE and GUIDANCE.

  • I really like both you & Dr. Lisle but I am very confused. According to Dr. Brooke Goldner author of “Goodbye Lupus” & most recently “Goodbye Autoimmune Disease”, raw food is the most healing & nutritious food on the planet. She says she has many patients who have been WFPB and have been unable to heal completely and reach optimal health. She goes on to say they all share the same 3 things in common: 1) Not enough raw food specifically greens; 2) Not enough omega 3 fatty acids as found in flax & chia seeds; & 3) Not enough water. Once all of these things are increased (in some cases all cooked food is removed) Dr. Goldner has observed healing in her patients. So when I hear Dr. Lisle say raw food is not the healthiest and that cooked food is just as nutritious I’m very confused. This goes against Dr. Goldner’s observations in her patients (and herself as she was once a patient), of which there are many she has helped including some WFPB doctors. I would love to know your thoughts on this. Thank you again Chef AJ for all you do to help people reach their optimum health.

  • thank you for this Chef AJ and Dr. Lisle, this has been very helpful. The part about being hyper vigilante nutcase who still has a difficult time with the WFPB way of eating/energizing ourselves and the weight loss issue. I love eating clean, as it were, and yet I notice that even at 183 (at 5’5″) with lots of room to lose, I only lose weight (right now) when I manage portions to be small (think Rice Diet Report/Rice Diet Solution portion sizes). It truly helps to hear that eating in the healthy WFPB appropriate portions are against our innate evolutionary drive. It helps me to stick to this path, even with slow weight loss.

  • Hi Chef AJ, I just wanted to let you know that I have double checked and this video is indeed a repost of a previous video you have released on your YouTube channel on January 5, 2019 with the title “The Pleasure Trap vs The Ego Trap”:

  • Thank you Chef AJ for taking the time to post this, and for Dr. Lisle giving his permission. I would like to know the difference between your two programs, UWL and FitFabulousoverForty. Thank you

  • Look up intermitent fasting, cut the nuts, limit seeds….don’t eat ick…follow basically Dr. McDougall diet. Cut out salt, sugar, oil, alchohol, most flour. Be vegan take Vit B12, vegan Omega 3s and learn to be a creative cook. The end

  • I feel like i have listened to this one already but i could listen to Dr. Lisle all day Im strugging with losing 15 lbs and i think its the nuts because im eating very very clean. Thank you AJ

  • That’s so interesting what he says about raw food lifestyle and too thin and side effects etc… when I was low-fat starch based (I lived on rice & potato with sides of steamed veggies and raw fruits ) and I was my smallest ever size 0 & Skipped lots of mensural periods. I was a stick. Years later, for digestive issues, I switched over to a raw food diet, no more starches, still low fat & I went up a few sizes (size 4-6) and gained about 10-15 lbs. All raw food, no oils nor nuts/seeds. Also started to have regular mensural cycle. So ‍♀️

  • Thank you so much for this advice. I have had no support throughout my weight loss journey & really welcome your help here. I am yo-yo ing with the last 10 pounds: I get close then slip a bit, then go at it again. I need to stop worrying about it. I am healthier & fitter than ever in my life.

  • I love this video! This is the first non workout video I’m watching of yours. I’m not so much trying to lose weight, but we healthier (which will cause the bit of weight loss I do want)

I do need to start thinking of food as fuel. I’ll even take junk food(sometimes even cereal like fruutloops or cookies!) on my long hikes which is extremely pointless haha
I’ve been working on eliminating chips and continuing with my extremely limited soda intake

  • Do Asian ppl eat a lot of soy? They are pretty healthy men and women overall. I do enjoy and appreciate what I’m learning from your videos. I just take what works for me.

  • All of the women in my family has hippo, so I grew up eating no soy. My parents would put soy as an allergies. When I went to college I strayed off my normal eating habits because I was poor. I gained a lot of weight and fast. I have been experimenting a little. I have noticed that going soy free again does help with the side effects, but I fail sometimes. I lost 6 pounds on the first month of being gluten-free. Thank you for sharing, this is helpful.

  • Finally someone who talks sense. I’ve been saying this stuff for year. And free radicals are also at the source of all life-threatening illnesses such as cancer.

  • Sugars cut acid in tomatoes. I’d like to learn more about soy because tons of asians eat soy and arent fat. Plus there are vegans that eat soy that are thin. I understand that soy does interact with hypothyroidism. But it would be informative

  • thanks for the tips! i’m starting a diet to help me lose weight along with a work-out regimen. Sometimes I run out of ideas on what to eat so listening to your videos is helping.

  • You’re welcome:)

    1 foods without nutritional value
    2 deep fried foods
    3 gmo-soy products
    4 meat/dairy with added hormones
    5 added sugars

  • I hit a plateau after losing 37 pounds and now I’m back to losing a pound a day after finding this keto pill on

  • You use a lot of terminology like inflammation, free radicals, and antioxidants….Is there a way that I can email you directly or something being a new viewer with Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism? I know I may be able to find a Conact Page on a website, but I worry I wont get you personally because I have been burned in the past by pages like this.

  • You had me until you mentioned no added hormones in meat & dairy. All animals naturally have hormones so when you consume animal products you will always get their hormones. Also dairy is full of fat, hormones, blood, puss, feces, & very many unnecessary ingredients. If you switch to a Plant-based milk & cheese you don’t have to worry about any unwanted ingredients. & it’s actually nutritious for you.

  • Sorry Sis, you can’t target exercise.
Cardio will help to shed fat. Weight training will help to shape your body. Do a bit of both

  • Great improvements! check It’s cheaper than amazon! idk if they have that protein powder but it’s worth checking out. Going trough primal potential’s url gives you an extra 25% off and 1 month free membership.

  • I had hypothyroidism. I did only two things: 1) Gave up dairy and drastically reduced meat intake and 2) drank a concoction of dry coriander seeds soaked overnight in warm water first thing in the morning. Less than 2months later, I no longer have the problem

  • Just found you and enjoyed this video. Will subscribe for more! I’m interested to know if you also cut out flour and refined grains. I eliminated flour and white rice, and also sugar a year ago and feel so much better!

  • I swapped my tequila sunrises with tequila sodas with limes in it! I wanted to continue drinking my tequila with something more refreshing and not as sugary. Everyone thinks I’m so weird and I didn’t know anyone else actually drank it!

  • I am 61 yrs old and have hypothyroidism like yourself. I am very excited i found your site. I love your jorney. I recently went meat and dairy and sugar free. I lost 13lbs. My doctor was amazed. I added yoga and 30 mins treadmill and biking. I am excited to continue. I have been looking for inspiration and i think you are going to hekp me

  • Great informative video:) I’m curious when you might choose your whole milk over the almond milk? I noticed in other videos you have almond milk in your coffee. What’s your go to use for whole milk?:)

  • LOL! Agree with Dr. Lisle, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every so often! As for me, I’d rather be single, celibate, penniless and living at the Y than with the wrong person (already have that t-shirt). So grateful for Chef AJ sharing these great videos, especially from Dr Lisle; they’ve been life-changing for me! Thanks so much!!

  • All milk is full of hormones, added or not, because it’s meant to give nutrients to baby cows. Nobody needs milk past the infant stage, human or non-human. I’m not a vegan, I’m just stating the facts!!! Meat on the other hand is often full of hormones in order for factory farmers to raise the biggest animals possible and therefore make the most money.

  • Milk does NOT have added hormones whether it’s conventional, grass fed, organic, or what ever, they are all tested THE SAME. Your misinformation is astounding.

  • Oh man, I am hypo. I drink soy milk with my protein powder bc where I am really doesn’t have many options when I want milk with it I didn’t even think to correlate the two… guess I’ll suck it up and just drink it with water till I have more options

  • What about eating oatmeal, as in overnight oats? That has become my breakfast. I do use almond milk. Am hyperthyroid, among other things.

  • tomato sauce typically has sugar to balance the flavor and cut the bitterness of the tomatoes. it’s not just added for the heck of it.

  • Could you link a source on the soy thing? I’ve seen plenty of research saying it’s a myth that it’s even possible for us to consume enough soy for it to be harmful. I’ve never seen anything to back up that it’s true…?

  • I’m not going to cut out sugar but I have been trying to be more conscious of it. I’ve switched from a 14g sugar protein bar to a 5g one that also has more protein and started buying plain yogurt and adding only a small amount of raw honey same with oatmeal. But you know if I want a cookie I’ll eat one to me its not about cutting all sugar out like some evil thing its about being conscious of it daily so you can have it when you REALLY want and enjoy it instead of in stuff where there’s no need for it.

  • Just curious, I love your work out videos and I’m not trying to be anything at all. Why do you “not believe” in a vegan diet? I understand it might not work for you, especially because some people have healthy concerns, but it is certainly not an unhealthy lifestyle. Many people are vegan because of environmental sustainability as well, not just because they don’t want to eat meat. We simply can not sustain meat in our diets the way we currently are. I encourage you to look up reasons why you should stop eating red meat and dairy, and to get a better understanding of agricultural practices and how they harm the environment, if you don’t already.:)

  • Here’s a lesson on agriculture: there’s literally no “hormone free” meat. Every animal has them and you can’t avoid it. If your paying extra for “hormone free” poultry or pork, then stop, because the FDA prohibits added hormones. Hormones are sometimes added to dairy cows however to stimulate milk production.

  • Coconut oil is actually not good for you to ingest on a daily, it is solid at room temperature and is a saturated fat! Definitely needs to be consumed in small amounts or should be avoided all together. On the other hand, avocado oils and olive oils contain healthy fats!

  • Great video. I cut out all dairy and it seriously contributes to my weight loss and maintenance. Dairy milk has one purpose… make baby cows put on weight and grow fast. Think about it. Organic almond milk is a great alternative and cheese you won’t miss after you give it up for several weeks.

  • Sugar is added to tomato based EVERYTHING for a GOOD reason, they are very acidic so sugar is added to cut the acidic taste, it’s a good chemistry thing. Not just unnecessary sugar. Like adding salt and pepper. It has a purpose.

  • What do you recommend for vegetarians? I eat soy burgers etc because I don’t eat meat so a lot of the vegetarian options have soy.

  • Just a side comment on the “why would they even put sugar in pasta sauce?”. My mom always put just a pinch of sugar while cooking tomato sauce, and apparently she did it to counteract the natural acidity of the tomatoes. This doesn’t argue what you were saying which it is undeniable there’s tons of sugar where there shouldn’t, just thought it was a curious fact on the specific issue of the pasta sauce XD

  • U being grossly skinny is not cute. Especially for woman. As woman we naturally hold on to fat for birthing a baby. So teaching woman to be super skinny is wrong.

  • My girl used naturekindness .com for sometime and it really helped her lose some inches. She also used to run every morning for 30-40mins. Never seen her being so confident. Really proud of her.

  • Wait..i just watched Dr. Oz in a previous video where he told the sugar eater to warm the oats with banana. Water etc. Dr Oz youre looking confused when this Dr. Said eat carbs cold??? What???? Which ones Drs.

  • Their meals were all very low calorie.. so basically intermittent fast with a calorie restricted diet who would have thought!:p

  • Unfortunately, I can see this that we need to add in school science subjects the basic understanding of our eating habits and nutrition to get used our kids to healthy life style eating. We can’t ask them to eat healthy and schools are providing unhealthy food and stuff as sweets, chocolate, chips, etc..

  • I’ve lost about 50 pounds while tri-aining. For me, the MOST important part has been planning my food out the day before and ACCURATELY weighing and measuring everything I eat. Every. Thing. It’s a royal pain in the rear and it takes a long time at first, but it really gets easier and faster. It’s second nature now, and it honestly feels strange to eat something without weighing it now.

Also, at a moderate deficit of 500-1000 calories per day, I think it’s more important (and simpler) to be consistent than to bounce up and down in intake. My understanding is that you won’t damage your metabolism unless you severely cut calories down below your BMR. You’ll have to adjust intake as you lose, since when you weigh less, you burn less. But that’s not metabolic damage; that’s just science.:-)
