Christy Overcame Bullying and Lost 100 Pounds. It was 2016 when Christy Justus was just starting a date night with her husband. As she slid into a restaurant booth, she made a startling discovery: She couldn’t fit. As she tried to scoot further in, she remembers feeling her stomach squish into the table, the space getting tighter and tighter. The city of Boston is a gorgeous sight on a warm, sunny spring day, particularly the area known as the Back Bay.

  • This Video is incredible. Great points for helping an overweight child. It’s real that what we learn as children mold our adult habits. Great Video!!!

  • Twenty one different schools? That’s truly hard to comprehend the amount of stress that placed on you and your sister. Can you talk about how this experience affected your psyche? Your resilience truly is inspiring.

  • I agree that the black community needs to improve the things that they say to encourage their children. Having a 5 year old really helped me notice the parenting I see happening to black children and how my own upbringing is reflected in my parenting. I’ve aimed to do better for my son. No cursing at him, more patience with him, and remembering that he is still just a young child who has a lot to learn. Edited to add: Less yelling at my child, less anger and frustration, displaying a healthy and active lifestyle for them to observe, being supportive and reassuring, not relying on spankings to install fear that forces them to obey. Parenting really grows you as a person and you mature with the child.

  • Yea it’s all innocent cause your a cute little girl and they fed u whenever u wanted it omg I kno exactly how u feel yes I don’t blame my family but… I feel like they played a role in my obesity but that’s in the past I’m 80 pounds down

  • This was a great video! My parents had 6 kids and when we turned 7, 6 and 5 range, she had EVERYBODY doing something around the house. You were NOT just going to sit around doing nothing. This was back in the late 70’s…the girls had to dust every Friday and wash dishes everyday and the boys had to clean the bathrooms and vacuum. On Saturday, everyone had to go out and clean the yard and my parents were there doing it with us, lol! We lived in CA at the time and had a backyard we played in. So, our mom did not have to worry about us playing near the streets. Then we started riding bikes and we were only allowed to go down the block and then back up. So, she started us out being active…walked to elementary/middle school too! Somehow or another, my middle sister struggles with her weight though.

I want to lose 8-10 lbs. myself and I want to lose 2 pant sizes…just life happens and changes here and there. I’ve been into working out for 25+years, so just getting older and work scheduling changes…I don’t believe in extreme dieting b/c this is a lifetime journey. I am learning HOW to eat. My mom had us active, but we ate EVERYTHING, lol. She was such a great cook!

  • Bullying turned me into a inward person. I got bullied for weight, clothes, skintone, being a girl, being sensitive and much more.

  • Back in school I was the bully and also bullied. Know it from both perspectives. I know cutting fat can be hard but after a mountain of studying health and nutrition cutting fat is almost effortless. Teach the kids about health and how it feels. Also get to gardening is the next step. I think farming is ready for a boom and is going to be the next be revolution in human history.

  • Hi Laura you are my daughter’s age, I truly enjoyed this video! It made me laugh  that blue dress! reminded me when my daughter wanted to wear her church shoes to school n put them in her bookbag.  You have so much insight in you. You are so motivating and I am sure you are meeting many.  Thank for sharing.  I did struggle as a child with obesity and for me it called “oh them some healthy girls” it was me and my sis.  Keep up the videos I am so proud of you.

  • As a fat girl growing up in TX who came from the West Coast, you were probably more teased because of your proper speech and the fact that you weren’t originally from there. South is really cliquish growing up

  • I remember being bullied in 7th grade being called fat, a saggy titties.I wasn’t even fat just a lil chubby.I weighed 150 but they never picked with the people that was bigger than me.

  • You are such an inspiration. Your discipline is so dope. Going back and rewatching your videos for motivation. At this 235 feeling a little like maybe I’ll always just be struggling. Thank you for sharing your journey!

  • Wow we have very veryyyyyyyyyyy similar stories like almost exactly what I went through. It’s empowering to see what you have accomplished and really motivates me to know that I can do what ever I want. Your so beautiful and you always have been.

  • Praising these women for losing weight and shaming them for being fat is WRONG! We need body positivity! Being overweight, unhealthy, and obese is OKAY and more people should do it!

    /sarcasm

  • When I was kid, I thought in America, all black and Asian and white people become friends and Americans don’t care about races. I just knew about America only in the pictures of my English textbook.

  • Omigosh you are so wise and relatable! I listen to your videos while driving to help motivate me on my own weightloss and mentality journey. I wonder what that Billy T has to say for himself now. I wonder what all those bullies have to say.

  • Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story! and your comment about getting high and munching out made me laugh so hard!

  • Wow.. your story sounds similar to mine, I also lived in Las Vegas and Dallas(and yeah Texas was brutal). The kids were very physical with bullying(although mine was because I had short hair). Was called “baldhead” and “ugly” so much I thought it was my name. Thank you for your story, you are very brave to share it. God bless and your continuing journey.:0)

  • What do you do to control food anxiety, you know, the urge to eat when you are trying to lose weight. I been trying to lose weight and do well for 1 week 1/2 to 2 weeks but after that I fail, because I just like to eat. I don’t eat that much sweets, but carbs like rice, and bread.

  • I feel like we’re the same person my experiences are almost exactly like yours! Thank you for sharing your story ❤️ it really gave me hope on my weight loss journey

  • I’ve been bullied since kindergarten. The game called “Cheese Touch” was what they played against me, except it was called “Mariah Touch.” I also remember I think that I may or may not have been teased for what I wore at the time. I also got teased by this kid in third grade by the name of Braxton Black. I think the time I really, really started getting bullied was in fifth grade. After fifth grade, I realized that being overweight was the worst thing I could be and that I really was ugly. And that’s sad, you know? Having to lose that childhood innocence of selfconfidence where you don’t hate yourself and you’re secure. Seventh grade was the worst year of my life. I cried myself to sleep most nights and I wanted to be someone skinnier, anyone skinnier, so much I felt sick with it. And I thought, “Man, I cannot believe I’ve gotten to this point.” Now I think that I don’t want to be anyone else. I just want to be myself, but except a healthier and better version. Sorry for such a paragraph, I just related to this.

  • When I was born, I was 2 pounds and 11 ounces, which is cruelly ironic considering how big I am now. Even when I was younger, I was still overweight and now at fourteen, I’m obese. I’m working right now to obtain a healthy lifestyle and some nice self esteem.

  • I thought I wouldn’t enjoy this video because of the length but girllllll I started and couldn’t stop until the end! I’m very proud of you. Kids can be very mean. It’s amazing how weight loss can bring joy!

  • I appreciate your story. I can relate to a lot of it. I grew up overweight and my weight has fluctuated ever since. The bullying and rejection was so hard to cope with. I’m currently on my way back down after having 4 kids. I’m hoping that I will have a success story to tell by the end of this year. I want to lose about 40 pounds.

  • you are so pretty. i loved listening to your story. i could relate to a lot of it. im still on my journey. but watching you is a great motivator ❤

  • When I notice someone sharing things about inspiration, I always reach out and say hello. Just how long have you been preparing videos?

  • Wow! This is very motivational. You definitely got the last laugh with those bullies. You are so beautiful. You are my dream woman, a beautiful intelligent black woman!

  • first of all social studies is way better than science and second of all math sucks!! and that kid is right every thing does not come from science!!

  • This is so nicely said! Track ur calories!! Eat what you want in moderation!!! Dont cut out foods you love!! It takes time!!!! A long time,if you are doing it the healthy way! So many people looking for short cuts, when it can all be this simple

  • I resonate with all of those feelings about food and weight too, it’s amazing to hear how you’ve dealt with everything with all of the bullying and bettering your life in a healthy way. I look up to you so much, love ya❤️

  • This is awesome! GEO Lost 120 pounds and he’s on The Spiral Diarys & Vidas Honestas you should watch it! You guys would relate

  • Even ignoring them as an adult is not an option especially if it’s constant! No one has the right to harass you no matter what! So I would have talked to my child’s teacher about it! I know kids don’t want you to do that but I would have! I wouldn’t encourage my child to get violent but I would encourage them to stand up for themselves by letting the bully know that I am going to report then or you could have your child look up the reasons why kids bully and have them remember it and recite it to the bully when they start up! There’s time when Yes ignoring is the right thing to do but to endure that everyday cannot be an option! Great story! Look at you now!

  • İf it would be real and if ı would be the the girl which has been bullied ı woul say,” I dont care if u bulliy me couse ı love my self so dont weast your voice to make me sad couse it not gonna work”

  • Me: There saying “you r different” to you because they thing that they are cool but there not. İgnore them and just be your self

    Actor: You where sooooo kind

    Me:EMBERESED☺️☺️

  • It will be be more real if the black girl pulled of her shoe laces and say I be right back and they say she is gone for all time she gone like die

  • MJ win a “no free shoes”.All others win a “I have no idea what am i doing”.Pippen, cmooooon you are better than this.Howard you forgot to show him the finger!lol

  • I am friends with a lesbian black girl (sorry if saying black is offensive), and she is the best. I know I would do anything to stand up for her.

  • Why are kids so racist like are they leaning from there parents??? Like my friend is black and he is like the funniest person ever….

  • I lived in alabama and went to school there and all the bullying is from blacks and in Florida its all the mexicans and blacks that are racist

  • The real life scenario was that the black community was not supportive of the black girl having a white friend… this episode is just cringe and we all know nobody would tolerate this.

  • The kid: Shoots 3 point instead of dribbling
    The ball: Goes in
The Kid: Im about to end this guys whole career
    Everybody: Ohhhhhhhhhh

  • Wow, you’re speaking my language. Abuse as a cultural norm. I discuss this a lot on my platforms. I am listening to all your videos while finishing a project. Glad to align with you!

  • It very sad, u know these things also happen in Africa.
I wasn’t even apply for a school because I’m black, in my own country coz they wanted white people a majority and only 15% of the school had to be black. I was so shocked hearing that & I was 8 years old.
White people in my country skip lines & people don’t say anything about it because they r too afraid to say anything, but if a black person does it, oh Lord, people will be relentless.
I have a Finnish bf and when people see him with me & ask if we r dating and we say yes, they look at us funny, some people even say that why don’t u stick with someone of the same culture as you, but some people r like, oh, lucky you or some people just don’t comment.

  • When the black woman said “If I was you, I would slap her.” I’m glad that the man step in a discourage it, that is not what you would say to teens. @ 5:07

  • I went to a new school last year because of a…incident and guess who my best friends were, black people two black kids who were named Layla and Christopher and they were one of my best friends of all times They were from Chimney lakes Elementary guys if you are reading this I miss you

  • God said the tongue is like a sword it can cut hard. These young people will have to answer to God, not unless they repent. There young and they can change.

  • You know they didn’t show the grandma or pa that took off their belt as they walked over.
Lmao can’t have people beating child actors on tv

  • me eating hot Cheetos and drinking soda: something poping up:Hi im John Qinones and those are my hired actor’s me: BOI IF YOU DON’T-

  • This will happen to me one day, my best friend is Mexican but her skin is light, I’m Mexican too but my skin is darker, if This happened to me I would say, “ok you believe what you want I don’t care” I’ve LITERALLY said “u got it!” While dancing while walking away from the bully saying “Your boots are so ugly like you” and I saw there face when I walk away, priceless also one time on the bus I told a boy my mom works at McDonald’s(she’s Mexican) and he said “why can’t she be a doctor!” While laughing at me And I said “if Mexicans can walk all the way to America, get a job, and live, she can proudly work at a McDonald’s if she wants to, his face went pale lol, a group of bullys made a song of slurs to bully my friend, so I remade the song but made it so it said to shut up its getting annoying, it was on the bus, the behavior counciler said, “I don’t like salty people, but that was amazing” so everyone knows, bully me or my friends, you DIE

  • I saw this and at first I was like “man I’d never do that to a kid” but then I thought that these guys went through everything and gave up everything to get to the top and that’s what they’re teaching to these kids. Dedication and 110% effort.

  • I know this is just acting but my jaw dropped to the floor and I paused the video and cried when she said “why are you defending the black girl”

  • Once I discovered that a girl was cutting herself, I told my mother and she went to talk with the principal, HE LITERALY SAID “PLEASE JUST IGNORE”

  • Imagine being an NBA player and showing your ego is too big to let kids win against you, then imagine being a NBA legend and not missing 3 shot to give kids who adore you free shoes.
