  • Arnold’s physique was jus amazing he knew how to work every muscle to complete a perfect build! Best bodybuilder ever to do it! If a Greek god worked out then that’s what they would look like his best was in mid 70s

  • Arnold was at his best in 1973 and 74. He could have won Mr.O for the next decade and won 13 Olympia. But who cares when you can make millions as an “actor”…

  • Imagine training your ass off before your debut. You’re psyched. You’re in your best physical and mental condition. Your poses are perfect and you have a real chance to win. Then you find out that Arnold Schwarzenegger is making a comeback that year how unlucky would you feel?

  • @BiodegradeableMan

Ok, so first you say Arnold with his physique of the 70s would be competitive in the Olympia of the eighties and the nineties, and then you continue to say Lee Haney has no legs and arms…

Man, you are so biased, it is no wonder you bash every other bodybuilder except Arnold. Do you even love the sport, do you even workout? Or are you just a pessimistic Arnold fanboy.

And do I even need to remind you again, aesthetic is in the eye of the beholder, get a grip on yourself.

  • @BiodegradeableMan Exactly. It’s inconceivable. You can’t help but laugh at these people who try to antagonize Arnold or anybody who acknowledges Arnold’s topnotch physique.

  • Like Roonie Cooleman said himself, if Arnold had the techniques we have nowdays, he would be the best we have ever seen. He was the best of that era, imagine with Phil heath’s technology. Oh boy!!

  • This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, fifteen percent concentrated power of will, five percent pleasure, fifteen percent pain and a hundred percent reason to remember the name

  • all the haters keep hating the greatest of all time

left and retired, bored and tires of trash talking haters. Comes back and cracks them to pieces which is always pretty easy for THE BEST EVER

    not big enough, yeah, ok
try mega dose modern HGH/INSULIN and bye bye any and every bodybuilder now, past, present BOOM!!

  • Thats true that no one is better than arnold but on that day judges have made a wrong decision and it was unfair with other competitors

  • The MASTER. Best physique ever. Hands down. These B builders today though are just drug addict freaks with pregnant bellies. Its gross. they’re a freak show.

  • I like how his skin tone wasn’t as orange and blotchy as all the other..He really did focus on how he looked.. And,he did very well. Much thanks from all of us woman..Arnold was true eye candy..Now a days..big guts, butterfly butts, and all those tattoos that cover the body..That’s like putting a sheet over your painting..why? Lol..if you’re going to show it..then show it! I was born waaaaay to late.

  • Was that really Arnold from 1970 Mr.olympia? No wonder he won over Sergio that year then. Goodness, size, details, proportion all there.

  • @DjiEnn No Arnold would not win in the era of Yates where blocky physiques and huge distended HGH guts were in vogue. The real question is which physique would you wish to own given the choice? Cutler’s, Coleman’s, Yates or the 1974 Arnold body? Nuff said.

  • Despite being big and all of that I think that Frank Zane had best body in history of bodybuilding. He is real example what body should look alike.

  • His build is unfortunately sorry to say not as good as his previous performances, but he still looks good.

Him here almost reminds me of his Terminator build. Exactly almost. Did a good job.

  • I once heard someone say about Arnold even when he’s not his best he’s still the best because he has charisma and that’s something you either have or you don’t. Arnold is one of those people you just can’t help but to look at, he’s like Elvis. I remember seeing an interview once with Robert plant and even though plant was the lead singer for the biggest band in the world at the time he said when Elvis walked into the same room he didn’t fill it, he was the fuckin room. Arnold has that same kinda presence.

  • Just depends which body you prefer…..Arnold loved high sets and reps…..but I think his body could have been even more awesome with Mike Mentzers Heavy Duty Routine….Sergio was basically a perfect Bodybuilding specimen……big shoulders, big legs, awesome triceps and a small waist…..just perfect.

  • At the 1980 Mr O Arnold scored perfect score in the compulsory poses round. What is strange about that is he didn’t perform all the compulsory poses. When the judges called a pose Arnold did whatever pose he wanted.

  • see Arnold has a great body because he was never super huge and gross liek the guys you see today, he had a good size and great definition

  • Hi, have you heard about “MuscLeader” (search on Google)? On their website you will find a good free video explaining the best way to start building notable muscle easily whilst reducing body fat as well. Kev and plenty other guys had good results by using this system. I hope it works for you too…

  • Arnold appears to have to developed one set of poses that never included a rear lat spread, I wonder if he left it out because Franco’s rear lat spread was so good!

  • How do you recognize ‘Perfection’ when you see it? You compare in a competition like this and then you have to overcome your own prejudices. I’ve heard a million and one stupid comments over the years about Arnold from men and women outside of the bodybuilding world. Even though he proved 7 times that he had reached perfection, these people’s prejudice or ignorance wouldn’t accept the results. James Cameron described Arnold as “Handsome, in an unremarkable way”. Maybe his body was too remarkable. His ambition certainly was.

  • he could have gotten without the stuff they are on today he didn’t want to his calories never went much over 3600 he built the best body ever for posing purposes keeping waistline in check by not eating horrendous calories like they do nowdays and not just wanting to walk around bigger and heavier than everyone else!

  • Hi there, have you heard about “MUSCleader” (search on Google)? On their website you will find a smart free video featuring how you can start building noticeable muscle mass quickly while burning unwanted fat as well. Brandon or many other guys like him experienced great success utilizing this methodology. It might help you out as well…

  • Crazy clip. Great movie. My younger brother had been an overweight gent. He went from 284lbs of pure fat to 208 lbs of total lean muscle. I couldn’t believe it! I just signed up personally because I’m hoping to get bigger muscle mass. He made use of the Muscle Building Bible (Google it)…

  • I already told you. before I started eating right it didn’t matter how much I exercised my abs were still jello. Between I saw an interview with body building champion where he talks about 7 odd foods he eats to keep his abs hard. check it out here > bit.ly/14tbFZT?=uxuqz

  • I don’t know that much about bodybuilding, but the people today with massive quads seems to cancel out their calves, so their calves look small. Arnold looks incredible, just perfectly enviable proportions

  • Classic physique really looks good. Todays physique in heavy weight really sucks they look like teenage mutant ninja turtles for me.

  • Probably the four best bodybuilders of all time. Just perfect, each in their own way. Unlike the, I dont what you call them today.

  • Arnold’s legs were perfect for his upperbody in 73 and 74. Tremendous mass & separation in the quads.

Eff the haters, they don’t matter.

  • You’re right. You are smart if you understand you need to eat right at your age to kill your belly. Listen one of my friend working in fitness field suggested me this 7 secret food items to kill our jelly belly. i found it here bit.ly/19xsc4R?=ztxgu

  • @BiodegradeableMan

I strongly disagree. The WoW factor is working for the industrie, more people enjoy the show, it sells more supps, more business.

Who cares if Arnold is named the world most perfectly developed man. This is an individual sport, with one thing in common, we all love to workout. Everyone has different goals, different views, beauty is in the eyes of the beholders.

You are acting like Arnolds physique is perfect, we he isn’t, for me. I prefer Shawn Ray and Flex Wheeler.

  • arnolds way better than jay bro, jays just blocky and doesn have good lines. if you want to talk about best of all time, i think, imo, id have to go to either kevin levrone or flex wheeler.

  • @DjiEnn Had Arnold not quit competitive bodybuilding to persue his acting career he could have dominated the Olympia for well over a decade, however unlike Haney et al he had other strings to his bow. I must admit I love your comedic satire, the way you claim to want an oprnminded discussion after calling me an Arnold fanboy is pure class.

  • Arnold had superb Leg development which suited his overall bodystructure. Not much inner thigh, which is good, cause inner thigh is what makes the legs take on a gross appereance. Inner thigh only serve to give a frog-like or baloon-like look, basically one step towards looking like some of the cattle that can be seen on stage. And as you stated, hamstrings wasn’t really in focus from the judges point of view, back in the 70’s.

  • Holy shit man, Serge Nubret is like the pinnacle of aesthetics in my opinion. Arnold was so big with such good posing. Lou was a freaking giant. Such a great competition.

  • @BiodegradeableMan Yeah, i don’t understand the enmity towards Arnold. It’s alright if you prefer another bodybuilder’s physique and chooses to sing high praise for that particular person, but don’t come here and put ridiculous statements such as “Arnold resembles a fitness modell”, that’s pure insult to a man who helped shape and propel bodybuilding into mainstream society. As you know, and as they they, the guy at the top gets the most flak it’s a natural phenomenon.

  • Jay looks pretty awful in my opinion. Arnold’s got him beat by a long shot in terms of aesthetics. And don’t forget none of the guys back then were as big as the guys now because they weren’t nearly as juiced. I’m not saying they weren’t, but obviously the stuff now is better. Arnold would certainly have been even bigger had he been around in this era. Either way, I think his physique even as it was back then puts Jay’s blocky grotesquerie of a body to shame.

  • @DjiEnn If you want to determine the best bodybuilder on Olympia wins that’s your prerogative, I do not care. To even cite Haney when talking about Arnold is laughable. Of course we both know Arnold could have easily won at least 10 Olympia titles. Remember he only stopped his six year winning streak to pursue a much more lucrative acting career. Your second comment I’ll pass on as you’ve gotten yourself all out of shape and are becoming rude, bye…….

  • @BiodegradeableMan

The fact that you give such a meaningless vote contest any credibility is just ridiculous. Arnold is by far the most popular bodybuilder ever, of course he would get the most votes, it’s like basinf the best videogames on its salesnumbers.
Its the same as saying, “Lee Haney and Ronnie are the best bodybuilder ever, he won the olympia 8 times, who sre you ro defy the judges?”

  • previously bullied. He explained he was intending to get bigger muscle and strength. I laughed at him. I didn’t think he would…. Until out of nowhere he packed on 40lbs of genuine muscle mass. He used the Muscle Building Bible Google it. He does not get bullied these days.:) I registered last week. And this guys emails are fucking awesome…

  • @DjiEnn Come on stop this nonsense. Comparing Haney to Arnold is preposterous and you know it. Haney had no arms, no legs and came nowhere close to Armnold in terms of proportion and aesthetic appeal. I have no interest in talking to another Arnold nay sayer.

  • @DjiEnn When Arnold won his first Olympia in 1970 Shawn Ray and Flex (synthol) Wheeler were both 5 yrs old. You cannot compare them to Arnold as they had access to far more advanced steroids and growth products. Genetically Arnold was in a class of his own in his era. Shawn Ray was a great short man and should have beaten Yates every time I agree. As for Flex it was hard to know where he ended and the synthol began.

  • It Wasn’t Fixed, Deserved To Win Even If He Haven’t The Best Form From Previously Years. For Me, His Biggest Challenge Was Sergio Oliva. 1980 Competitor’s Was Close To Arnold Because He Wasn’t At His Best. Put Arnold From 1975 To 1980…. End Of Story!!! 73′ 74′ 75′ In His Own League.

  • @BiodegradeableMan Well said, that’s exactly what it comes down to in end. The physique that one would choose to walk around in is the physique one likes the most.

  • just as mr. Nubret grabs the podium and hits a real real nast arns up cobra/vacuum pose

“and now, the one and only Arnold Schwarzenegger ” walks up, cracks the standard bodybuilding universe shaping front ” Double Bi ”
its all over except the crying folks

  • I think there is a problem with the photographic method or the angle of the capture because even Tom Platz his legs look a bit weak, I think that Arnold was not his best but he was the best this year and deserves to win

  • @Farshad86 The nay sayers in this case are acutely aware that in comparison they have essentially failed in life. The young Arnold unable to speak English left his home country and travelled with a single bag of clothes to America, the rest is history. His enthusiasm and carisma have been noted by those who were close to him. Ken Waller and others described how people were drawn to Arnold way before he conquered Hollywood. Little people with small minds get very jealous of him.

  • Only people who have no love for the art/sport would say “I have Arnold down as a fitness modell”. Such an ignorant statement is quite revealing, it exposes their own personal disinterest in developing their own physiques that’s the way i see it. If Arnold hard work and sacrifice merely amounted to an end product that could be labeled as “fitness” at a whim, contrary to all visual proof, then what would we call the lesser known champions, the other winners of Mr Universe/America/World.

  • You are correct. You are smart if you understand you need to eat right at your age to kill your belly. btw!but ye I heard that most of the celebrities used to follow to kill their belly using this 7 food items. you can see it here bit.ly/19xsyZk?=dnukk

  • when these dumbass lowlifes say arnold had nor porportion, they mean his legs were no match 4 his upper body, they dont see all bb back then were like that, with very few exceptions of course. But they dont see how out of human proportion modern bb are, they look like that mascot from michelin, ridiculous, cannot walk normaly, not to mention run.

  • @exposingPHONIES Not the vast quantities of synthetic HGH or insulin. However my point was they looked better than the blobs of today I did not cliam they were drug free.

  • @Farshad86 When you express a liking for Arnold’s physique you get slammed as an ‘Arnold fanboy’ yet these people worship their own favourites with complete obsession. What’s more they appear to hate Arnold and anyone who admires his hard work and incredible lifelong accomplishments. I can only surmise extreme jealousy and bitterness caused by their own contrasting lack of success in life.

  • Even Arnold admits that Sergio should have won in 70 and 72. Shame he didn’t. Oliva is the most naturally gifted bodybuilder of all time. He deserved more titles than he got.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

He does have a good chance if he does what is necessary. You find it blocky, I find it truly awesome.

Like I said before, If I had to choose I would pick Arnolds physique, did you even read my posts, you seem to ask several questions twice?.. The perfect body imo is that of Steve Cook, he is big, but smaller than Arnold and his successors.

  • @BiodegradeableMan Absolutly, on my part i can say with good confidence i hold no grudge towards a legend like Arnold, i actually wish him well and i would be delighted to see him move on to even greener pastures (campaign to become president). It’s quite sad to witness how some people seem to be unable to accept reality. They need to accept that Arnold was without a doubt a leading figure due to his apparent physique and overall attraction.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

I’ll try it one more time, Third time is the charm right?

Yes he could have, but we will never know. Like I said before, we can’t compare potential, we can only compare the results.

Arnold was at his peak in 1974, one of my favorite physiques, but it isn’t enough to be number one in the era of Dorian Yates and Lee Haney. The eighties was a whole different drug game, it would have been interesting to see what he would have become, he would definitely be on the level of Lee.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

And how can you ever say that Arnold had more than enough mass to beat any olympia bodybuilder of the nineties.. He doesnt even have enough mass to beat Lee Haney of the eighties, let alone anyone from the nineties.. just look at his relatively puny lower body muscles. And you think he is more conditioned?. Man you are really delusional, really did you just say that. Its almost as ridiculois al claiming that he has more mass than jay cutler. How blind can you be…

  • Hey there, have you heard about “MuscLeader” (look on Google)? There you can watch a useful free video demonstrating the best way to gain noticeable muscles really fast whilst reducing unwanted fat at the same time. Fabian and many other guys enjoyed positive results making use of this approach. It may work for you also…

  • @DjiEnn I see you’re spoiling for a fight but you’ll have to look elsewhere. History has been written, if you don’t like it I’m sorry but it will not change to suit you’re sensibilities.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

If I had to choose, than I would choose Arnolds. And I think I made myseld clear that I still find Arnold physique to be very impressive, but it hasn’t got the wtf factor needed for the olympia. Lets face it, the mr. Olympia is a freakshow, the audience wants to see monsters and those that are willing to go THAT far might get a chance to get on stage one day, I admire their determination, sacrifices, willpower and freakphysiques, but wouldnt want to look like that.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

History surely has been written. 6 times mister Olympia is better than 8 times? Mike Mentzer was the only one from Arnolds era who got a perfect score from the judges, does that mean he is perfect and better than Arnold who didn’t score a perfect?
A voting contest with a small number of people, should anyone give it any credibility?

History surely has been written, reading and understanding it is another story.

Peace out bro, I was expecting a more openminded discussion.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

It seems you are missing my point time and time again. I am trying to demonstrate winning a voting contest like “most well developed person” doesnt mean that he is viewed as the perfect body by the majority. Put Brad Pitt and Arnold next to eachother, the majority on this world thinks Arnold is too big and find Brad Pitts body the be more perfect.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So putting aesthetics aside we have to look at the rules of the game:

To determine the best bodybuilder, the Olympia rules look at mass first, symmetry and proportion second. So arnold with his 70s physique would lose bigtime in the nineties and eighties if he wouldn’t add more mass.

Lee Haney laughable?.. He is considered one of the best, he was the first to combine MASS, Symmetry and conditioning like no other.

  • Hi there, have you heard of “MuscLeader” (look on Google)? There you will find a good free video demonstrating the best way to build up noticeable lean muscle quickly whilst shedding fat as well. Kyle is one of the countless men that had great success utilizing this method. Hopefully it will help you too.

  • OMG!!! ARNOLD had crushed Sergio Oliva in the 1970 Olympia!! Sergio had previously been wiped out by ARNOLD in the 1970 Mr. World!! ARNOLD adminstered the final hammerblow by smashing Sergio in the 72 Olympia!! Sergio never had a chance against ARNOLD’s SUPERBODY!!!! Sergio disappeared from the scene until 1984 when he placed poorly in that Olympia! Meanwhile, ARNOLD was raking in millions as the greatest action star ever!!

  • @Farshad86 Arnold’s staggering success in bodybuilding, acting and politics forces some to take a good look at their own acheivements in life. For some the contrast is so great they simply find it hard to accept. Rather than give the man credit they try to tear him down and remove any obligation to improve themselves. Its a cop out and a cheap one. ‘Fitness model?’ Boy oh boy some people really are delusional!

  • @DjiEnn I explained that Arnold was voted the World’s most perfectly developed man. You took that historical fact and used it to infer I had claimed Arnold possessed the perfect physique. You are using inference to paint me as some sort of Arnold acolyte which I am not. In my opinion Arnold in 73 and 74 had more than enough mass and condition to beat Shawn Ray and would have made Shawn look tiny in comparison. Wheeler was an oil bag and hence of no interest.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

You are mixing things up here.

    1. I am saying, you can’t compete with an Arnold physique in the Olympia nowadays, not enough size.

    2. the Arnold physique is hard to achieve, but many have done it nowadays, because of better knowledge and drugs (yes, Arnold would be a lot bigger if he would compete in our era).
In other words, I am not comparing their potentials, I am just comparing physiques, plain and simple.

    3. I love Arnolds physique but he is not perfect, to me.

  • you are right. we must kill the bad fat and belly first to get the 6 pack. Between Do you know about the 7 odd foods that kill belly fat if you don’t know about them you must see this. you can watch out here bit.ly/11KHuh7?=kyrpd

  • @Farshad86 Those not born in the United States are unable to run for President. If this weren’t the case, I think we would have seen Arnold making a very strong run of it in 2012.

  • @DjiEnn Basically who wants a “wtf factor” when the ‘wtf’ pertains to disgust? In my opinion Arnold had that wow factor body where today’s dare I say it ‘athletes’ look disgusting. Arnold was named the World’s most perfectly developed man for a good reason. Sure today they are bigger but Lou ferrigno was ‘bigger’. The quality and package Arnold bought to the table was and still is unsurpassed for beauty and grace.

  • Holy Cow! Schwarzenegger and Columbu…a lifelong friendship in its infancy. A priceless video…makes me wish I had cultivated certain childhood friendships better. And Boyer Coe looked swole.

  • @DjiEnn And don’t you just wish you has that ‘nothing special’ physique Arnold had? Come on mate if someone looking like Arnold walked into your gym you’d be astounded!

  • @BiodegradeableMan

Because the game has changed. Mass comes first, symmetry etc. come second.

Look up older photos of Ronnie, Jay and Phil Heath. They all had beautiful physiques, just like Arnold, but they wanted more, they wanted to be on Olympia stage, so they just did what they had to do and became monsters. But they are a small group, a lot of them dont take that extra step and stay in the physique range of Arnold, which is nothing “special” in this day and age (still very impressive).

  • @DjiEnn I am sorry you found my comment ignorant, I found yours overly assumptive. Of course there are still fantastic physiques out there but they do not win Mr. Olympia titles. My point is that Arnold was the very best of his era. By contrast the very best of today are blocky and visually lack that aesthetic look. In Arnold’s era he set the standard, now we see the pregnant Cutler/Coleman look take the spoils. I find that very disturbing.

  • @BiodegradeableMan

I find these kind of posts quite ignorant.

Today there are more bodybuilders who have that type of Arnoldish physique of the 70-80s than back in the day. The professional bodybuilding scene has grown a lot, made of many segments, you can’t just throw all of them in the same “blobs” corner. How many compete on Olympia stage or similar podiums (arnold classic and such)? Only a handful, the rest are still very aesthetically pleasing by the majority of the audience.

  • Arnold Schwarzengger was living the American Dream and he had to work hard to get it and his movies were always #1 at the Box Office The Terminator, Terminator 2 Judgement Day, True Lies, Total Recall, Commando, Kindergarden Cop,! Its not easy being body builder! There is book about him called Total Recall which starts when he was in Germany! Its a good book leading up to him being the governor of Calfornia,

  • Why am I the Only one who noticed that One and Only quality photo of Sergio fully completing a Pose is at 45-49 Seconds of this video? Don’t believe the Bullshit about Sergio being out of shape, look at this photo of him and See how Ripped he was!

  • Obviously not his best, but still beats the rest of the competition, his stage presence, posing, and stature still gives him the edge IMO

  • ..these weren’t the better pictures of Sergio..should I find lesser pictures of Arnold and compare them with better pictures of Sergio and end with Sergio
