Stretch out, unwind, and realign the body. This calculated practice is designed ease your muscles into cool down mode immediately following your workout regime. Learn to stretch and open the body to optimize the benefits of your athletic practice, and encourage muscles to begin tissue reparation.

Allow Grokker Yoga Expert Ashleigh Sergeant to aid in grounding your energy to calm the nervous. This calculated practice is designed to ease your muscles into cool-down mode immediately following your workout routine. Learn to stretch and open the body to optimize the benefits of your athletic practice, and encourage muscles to begin tissue reparation. This multitasking routine marries blissful hip release and inversion to enhance your post-workout recovery and calm your nervous system simultaneously. You’ll stretch your hamstrings, outer hip, inner thigh, and hip flexors —all common tight spots for athletes—while.

The breath is just as essential for athletes as it is for yogis. Use this practice to spend a few minutes with your breath and rebalance after a workout. Every morning when I prepare for my Ashtanga yoga practice, I unroll my mat and I take my hands together in front of my heart.

Before I begin I set an intention, and for the next two hours I am focused as I float between some postures and as I. Mike Fecht of Yoga for Men guides you through a 30 minute Post Workout Yoga practice that will help bring you back into balance after your workout, or after playing your sport. All-levels. #YogaforMen #YogaforAthletes. Try these three pre-and post-workout yoga practices from Sage Rountree’s new book to balance strength and fitness daily. My latest book, Everyday Yoga: At-Home Routines to Enhance Fitness, Build Strength, and Restore Your Body, coming out in June, presents a series of yoga routines that can be enjoyed as one-off snacks or put together to create a multi-course yoga meal.

The relationship between yoga and sports can be a beautiful thing. The two types of exercise, if you will, almost form a sort of circular pattern: peak athletic performance requires stretching and priming, which leads many athletes to explore yoga, which in turn leads to better performance, and so on. A well-rounded yoga practice includes dynamic flexibility training, core stabilization, strengthening and balance work. By focusing on these vital elements, yoga can help you recover faster after workouts, open up the tight areas that hinder performance, improve range. Weekend warriors, listen up.

These three classic yoga hip openers will help relax your hips after a day of biking, climbing, running, or any other athletic activities you enjoy. These poses also work great if you sit a lot. Caveat: Hips that feel tight sometimes need a bit more strengthening. So. A short, twenty minute yoga practice for runners, cyclists and swimmers with a focus on the spine, core and hips.

A great overall practice that will leave yo.

  • I loved this so much! I felt so relaxed and I have tried a few other cooldown stretchs but none of them I liked, they just didn’t work for me but this was so beginner friendly it made me feel so calm, thank you ♥️

  • Good morning Erin! I just did this routine again after my morning session at 9:30am! My whole body feels so good! Thank you so much always for making amazing yoga routines! I enjoy doing them so much! Have a wonderful day!

  • This is great active recovery for me as a powerlifter. I feel amazing afterwards and will continue to program this into my recovery days

  • Thank you! I have a really tight lower back and hamstrings from running and this was glorious! I just added yoga foundations to the list of things I instruct, and I’m looking for inspiration for a class directed at athletes/runners. You nailed it!

  • Great video very useful as a soccer player. Helped me realise how tight my muscles are. Definitely going to be doing this more regularly

  • Always had a spite against yoga because of sport classes lmao. Tried this after my work out and it was really nice! Your not patronising at all!!! It’s wonderful!

  • I just want to say you are an incredible teacher. I don’t know what it is about your energy / aura but it is very calming and yet assertive and authentic. You can tell you really want to guide your students into stretches / into a better body and overall state. I felt it. I started yesterday because I’m mega active (workout 6 days a week and am a trainer / boxing coach) but I absolutely neglected GOOD stretching (I know). I’d stretch a few mins here and there but nothing much. I used to do a lot of yoga and it made SUCH a difference. I’ve also got adhd so there was such variety and yet depth in all of your videos and you have an incredibly soothing voice with easy to follow instructions. I appreciate everything you do / offer. Much love from half way across the world ❤️

  • NOT the video for you if you are convalescing or recovering after an accident. This is for athletes who like to push themselves and work hard. I wonder that you could walk after stretching your tight toes so hard and for so long.

  • I’m super sore from training legs yesterday, and I stumbled upon this video and decided to give it a try.. I feel more loose already. Loved it!!

  • Did some really insane PT with the Marines yesterday, could hardly walk this morning. I did this routine and I feel much more loose and I don’t feel sore now. Thanks!

  • Have done workout for 2-3 hours, 5 days a week for 2 years. I could swear that my muscle is still not ready for this. Repect those yoga class ladies.

  • finished an 8 mile run and legs were super tight and sore and after  doing this sequence, they feel so much better!, thank you,i’m adding this to my daily cool down routine.

  • I want to your video in Hindi language(Indian)so please provide video in my language because I have lot of problem to learn these yoga…..

  • This is my favorite after workout yoga session. You really stretch all of the muscle groups, and I love to do this after a kickboxing session. It’s really great and easy for a beginner like me. Thank you!

  • I just did a really hard run in the oppressive heat, and I can honestly say that this is the BEST post run cool down I’ve EVER done. I feel 100%, which usually out takes me a full day of recovery to feel that way. Which is awesome bc I was planning on doing strength training tonight. Thanks so much for this! You totally gained a new subscriber!:-)

  • Enjoy this short deep stretch! Let me know what you think below! Please remember to Subscribe to my channel if you want more classes each week. And a huge THANK YOU to all of my Supporters I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful we are for your support. You’re amazing! To learn more, head to

  • Thanks for sharing so much kassandra. Your yoga videos and posts are very helpful. Could you do one for post workout, please? I know you have the one in costa rica, but another ine could be fun too. Have a nice long weekend

  • I am so extremely sore from heavy lift days this week and this was so incredibly relaxing and loosening. Thank you oh so much, you’ve definitely gained a new subscriber.

Keep the yoga-for-athletes coming and keep up the great work! -Molly

  • At the part where you touch your toes, not my side hurts but the muscle just off the lest of the spine. I’m worried if it’s damaging my spine?

  • I’ve just started track for the first time and my legs have hurt. So. Bad. Today, they were extra tight and this video made them feel normal again! Thank you so much:)

  • Moundir, shoulder and neck pain can be a bit tricky. I would recommend some gentle A-T-Y stretches. Imagine making the letter A with your arms while you’re lying on your belly, roll the head of your right shoulder into the floor, then rotate open so your left hip stacks on top of your right (you can bend your left knee if you need to). Repeat on the left side for A. Then move your arms to T and do both sides. Same with Y (arms up at 45 degrees while on your belly). I hope this helps:)

  • I love hearing the natural sounds where you are, and your voice is so relaxing. Thanks for a great stretch! My only disappointment is not being able to do some of them since I’ve had knee surgery. I do t know if I’ll ever be able to again. It’s been 1.5 years since my ACL was reconstructed, and there is still tightness.

  • I love your channel. Soccer is 1st popular. But 2nd popular is cricket in world. Can you please have a session for cricket on Focus, Concentration, stretches for Batting, fielding and bowling focused. Please watch the game if you are unaware in YouTube what impacts

  • loved this. I’m a barefoot runner and so i loved the first pose. my feet and toes get sore. I had my longest run yet in my training yesterday and this is what I needed. you did all my favorite poses. I could probably hang in ragdoll pose for 20 min. that pose and pigeon are my favs. my glutes get so sore and pigeon is one of the only stretches that help. I’m going to share this video with our running club! great post long run video! I’ll be back <3

  • I was searching for a good cooldown and came across your video. Love it so much it helped me relax and I feel great after. Definitely gonna do more of your videos. Thank you very much:)

  • Hi I’m new to your channel and I really enjoyed this, there’s some yoga moves I haven’t come across before that I loved especially the foot stretch. Thanks for your video namaste

  • Thank you so much Brett! Just what I needed this morning.. I woke up with sore muscles and after I did your yoga class I feel so much better and ready to start my day!❤

  • I tried so many different beginner-classes until I found yours. It’s just great. Doing it as a daily routine for 3 Weeks now. When standing I
couldn’t bent down further than to the point where my hands touch the knees, but now i can reach the floor… Thanks so much, i had flexibility problems for years!

  • Nice stretch but video is very hard to hear. There’s an echo and no matter how loud I set my speakers, it was hard to follow. Usually I don’t have to look at the screen to follow your cues, so the routine felt a bit choppy. The birds in the background were nice though.

  • Hi bre, just subscribed to yr channel recently.great videos reason I chose to follow yr channel is it feels “suitable” for someone like myself with a similar body to yours.&I must say yr workout is tough(I try to keep up with the power vinyasa etc & e balancing part is challenging too) can u do a tutorial on how to float and tuck handstands?) Namaste and keep up the good work!

  • Wow. You´re perfection, Flo! One question, do you a video on how to sit cross-legged or the other sitting position you do. I don´t know what to call it.

  • Absolutely my favorite post workout yoga! Thank you so much for this. Perfect tempo, full body, deep stretch that I need after a workout! You’ll be on replay!

  • Love your classes! This is my second class with you. Not sure how I found your channel but am so happy I found you! Your instruction is so clear. I really appreciate your format which is straight instruction. Thank you!

  • This video is perfect! I personally would not want to go into this cold but it is my new go to for after workout stretching. Cut to the chase, no bull, lets stretch. The length of time she holds each pose is exactly what I like.

  • This is the first yoga video I’ve tried. I think I must be incredibly inflexible because I even found this hard in some places. My toes don’t point forward either so some of the more lunging stretches can be a little painful, but I wanna keep trying. Great video!!!

  • What a superb session… tacked onto the end of my kettlebell workout… a great flow to cool down, stretch and come back to ‘civility’

    Namaste my friend

  • Hello there! I feel compelled to tell you that you and your partner have the best yoga channel on youtube! Please don’t be demoralized by your slow growth. I’ve had my channel for 4 years and now I have 45,000 subscribers. I had less than 1000 subscribers for two years. Patience. You have the best routines and the best mentality. Blessings! Thank you!

  • Yoga is the missing element in all athletes routines to perform to their greatest ability for the longest period of time. Having been a tennis pro and yoga trainer I can say the power of the breath, poses & flows added an element of flexibility, strength and endurance that coundn’t have been attained otherwise.

  • Been looking for a post work out yoga stretch and this was perfect. Felt so relieved and amazing after. Sharing this in my fitness group too. Thank you so much for this!

  • Hey again! Thanks for the quick response!!:-)
As for things I’d like to work on, I’ve noticed that anyone I do a forward fold, whether it’s standing or seated, I’m not able to get too far. I’d like to really increase my flexibility there (I don’t know if it’s bc if my lower back, hamstrings, or quads, but all of those muscle groups can get very tight for me!)
I also very much want to work on my balance. I’m not able to hold airplane with my leg lifted all the way up to hip level, at least not without losing my balance after a breath or two, and I really want to strengthen my leg and core muscles to help ground me in those balancing poses.
(I’m still quite new to yoga, only having done it for about six months now.)

  • You are a fantastic instructor Erin. The ambience the quality of video and audio, the unique combinations you choose are all reflective of the thought you put into your classes. A big fan. Thank you so much

  • I obviously missed this one when you first published it. Going to bookmark it now, really nice quick cool down and I LOVED the birds in the background!

  • I only complaint is the speed of intervals, from one position to another.personally I don’t think I can do all that and as fast as Carl.
Does it matter about the speed.thanks in advance, gonna subscribe…you give me courage.

  • Been doing yoga for the past 4 years and its the first time in my life that i come across such an amazing deep stretch yoga workout… Thank you very much <3

  • Been doing yoga for the past 4 years and its the first time in my life that i come across such an amazing deep stretch yoga workout… Thank you very much <3

  • OH MY GOD I HAVE NO WORDS your videos heal my soul! Which is so important. I’ve never felt so good while stretching. BEST ON THE INTERNET:)

  • Thank you! This definitely has had me feeling much more loose, as a personal trainer perspective you are great at this! Thanks again

  • Great, I had ACL surgery 2 years back, and my right glute pains sometime, I hope these exercises will help me to fix that and improve my knee joints and hamstrings. Thx

  • So glad we could help!! Yoga is a great compliment to most trainings, and certainly helps with soreness. Let us know if there are other specific types of videos you’d like to see:) You can also visit the site and check out the whole library!

  • This is definitely not for beginners, but I love the combination of poses. Adjusted them a bit to suit my ability but I really appreciate your video!

  • Thank you for this practice; it was great after resistance training. It would be nice if you gave reminders to relax your shoulders and neck occasionally. My legs felt great afterwards, but my shoulders and neck were tighter than before I started it.

  • That was an amazing short class,, I love stretching I always have the feeling that my spine gets longer and as I am very short it is good.
    Thank you so much Erin.

  • Love this! Please make more ‘easy / gentle’ videos for beginners like me! The ‘Yoga for Men’ are still a bit too challenging but trying to do them…

  • This was awesome!  So sore from a long bike ride (in Colorado!), and this really helped.  And you didn’t bore me like so many yoga videos:)

  • I don’t see why you have the guy there.  he didn’t even seem comfortable to be there whatsoever.  It was like he had a disability or something.  Then he was moving through the poses too fast like it was some childhood game where someone names a body part and you have to touch that body part faster than anyone else while blindfolded.  Seriously.  Only worse than that.  That example doesn’t even get to the heart of it.  It reminds me of like cattle that gets prodded or something.

I don’t even know.  It was like you were doing experiments on him in the basement with electrical current.  Seriously.  Like no matter what i say it won’t be able to describe how bad that was in every way possible.

I can’t say that I won’t be dealing with some mental scars from this.

Like and not even minor mental scarring.

I guess i can see it as my having to acknowledge there’s some serious problems in this world.

That was THE SINGLE MOST F’D UP THING i have ever seen.  In my life.

    I haven’t had a sheltered life either.

Like i’ve seen my 60 year old dad choke fucking my mom.

    I saw porn when i was 5

I saw child porn bondage style crap at 12 where the girl was like in some super..  i don’t even remember.  But like clothes that are like straps and actually deform and shape your body.

I’ve seen someone hit by lightning.

I’ve seen..  other instances of child porn where it was some girl on a dock being filmed unknowingly and she was maybe 10-12

like.  The one i saw when  was 12 the girl was like 8

    But anyways.

This is far worse, so why even talk about stuff like that.

I’m not even kidding.  This isn’t like some lead in to some point where i say i’m joking.

    This was fucking wrong.

Like these words probably aren’t even hitting because it’s like a sun shower hitting an ocean.  LIKE WTF WAS THIS VIDEO!!!

There is no way i can get to how bad that was.

Watch that video or smell the inside of a 3 month old coffin..  That as buried 3 months ago..

    Ok um..

Do they use chemicals so it doesn’t stink so bad?

I think in may go work at a cemetery for the rest of my life.

Then people will be like “how can he do it, that’s so scary”

Then other people will be like “with what he saw on youtube, he’s in heaven right now.  As long as his thoughts aren’t on that he’s fine”

    I’m.. Like..  Hmm..

I didn’t think i’d have to slowly step backwards and run.

  • My college does these courses called JanTerms, where you take a course that can be either inside your major or outside your major. And this where most people do their study abroad; we have had JanTerms that have gone to New York, Austria and France, Italy, China, etc. Some courses though you can’t do in January, so you do them in May when the school year is over; one MayTerm was a course in Barbados or Trinidad and Tobago about the mating season of turtles.
Long story short, one of the JanTerms was a yoga focused one and they went to Costa Rica.

  • Wow getting into position in 13.30 is incredibly hard, mad respect for making it look like nothing, i feel disabled when im trying that my knees and ankles are hurting and its impossible to even get in that position

  • If you guys wanna lose weight do yoga 3 x a week…100% sure it loosen weight.and do the diet just smoothie a night…no big meal

  • Hello Erin! I haven’t done this class in a while and just did it again after my workout! Love love love it so much! Whole body feels so good again! Thank you so much for this and all your amazing classes! Have a wonderful day!:-)

  • Great stretch! Thanks Erin. You keep it moving while still getting a good stretch in each pose. I have stitches in the bottom of my foot so I am searching your classes for things I can do on the mat! Glad to have found this class.

  • I’ve been doing this after wrestling practice and weightlifting and really helps loosen my tight muscles and recover thank you so much

  • Thanks for the great beginner yoga..I have so far to go on flexibility. I got a little lost at points not being able to watch in some poses but I’ll get the hang of it.

  • Just did this routine again after my workout session! One of my top favorites! Love this feeling! Thank you so much again Erin! You are so amazing!

  • Great video! I’ve decided to start doing yoga after workouts and I found this very relaxing and calming so thank you does anyone know if doing yoga will help improve flexibility?

  • Did this routine the day after my first marathon and it felt sssooo good, I went slower than the video, but really liked the routine because it warmed and stretched my major leg muscles-Thanks!

  • this is my absolute favorite post run cool down. i try to do it after all of my workouts, and is the only thing that helps release tension in my hips ❤️❤️❤️

  • the birds outside my window started communicating with the birds in this video hahaha. very relaxing session, thank you:-) I especially needed to just lie down on the mat and breathe

  • Awesome…
I’m just starting to get into Yoga. This is amazing and I particularly like how my body and mind feel at the end, when i’m just lying on the mat. My mind is also at ease after I follow along with this video. =)

  • This is one of my favorite yoga videos. I cannot believe how you were able to fit so many important stretches into one video. This video, although only 15 mins, has done way more for my body than 45 min videos have.

  • During the stretch where the leg is out in front and you clasp the arms around the bent leg and behind/around the back…I don’t feel the hip compression during this stretch. Any ideas of why?

  • hi, i’m a boxer. i got an injury in my left shoulder, the problem is even after i healed, some time i got chronic pain in my shoulder and neck.can you help me

  • Maybe you already have a video like this and I’m just not aware, but could you post one that holds these cool down moves a bit longer . Love your channel esp during COVID. thank you!!

  • i dont know much about yoga just learning but this is the most negative yoga video ive ever seen and why are they going so fast?I thought you were supposed to go with your breath?

  • Another aweosme class from you! <3 I have suggestion for new yoga practice this one for hikers. I hike a lot and my hamstrings and back muscles get really tight every time

  • This was very relaxing and helped stretch out my muscles! Thank you so much!
(other than my dog barking like crazy at NOTHING during the final 2 minutes)

  • Kassandra, i started doing yoga with your videos a few months ago and have been following along since. Now I’ve stumbled on a few of your older videos and though they are also great, it’s amazing how much you’ve grown in a short time! It seems you have become so much more self assured and really found your groove in your practice and your videos. Love to see it! Much love, Charli

  • Amazing post workout out stretch I need it so much after my morning run under the sun and humid thanks a lot❤️❤️sending love from UAE

  • Yes Kassandra, I can hear the birds a bonus that I really enjoyed. Your cooldown was so relaxing and easy to follow. Thank you!!

  • Good morning Erin!
I just did this routine again to end my morning workout session! One of my favorite post-workout stretch routines! Feels so good! Thank you so much always! Have a wonderful day!:-)

  • I use this as a pre-workout warmup, & to supplement my own practice. It’s super-great, like all Five Parks yoga vids!

Question: I cannot do bow pose. Are there intermediate poses/stretches to get there?

  • Now your channel is my only go to for any kind of yoga movement that i want to do on my own during this lock down! Thanks Kassandra <3

  • that was amazing! i was crying really hard so i decided to make myself workout and then i did this cooldown and now i feel like a brand new person. thanks kassandra!

  • this is awesome! this was my first time doing any type of yoga. I play baskeball in college and im five months out of acl surgery. I heard good things about yoga and after this im going to try to incorporate it in my workouts. it made my body feel good and I felt new! im excited to see what this does to my rehab and when im back on the court. thank you guys.

  • Odd question any advice for practicing on an uneven floor? (renting an old house) The most convenient room in my house to practice in, the floor is noticeably and unevenly bowing towards the center/door…like half inch difference o.o I’m wondering if this might negatively impact my forms?

  • I love the series for athletes, thank you! My request is a class for alpine skiers now that winter is upon us in the northern hemisphere:)

  • That was amazing! I am competitive powerlifter and I tend to have overly tight calves and hamstrings and I have a really hard time getting them nice and loose, and while I know it will take more than once to get them normal, today was a great start!!!! They feel great! One question I have though is are there poses to help strength the lower back and glutes, two very important areas for powerlifters?

  • I felt like a broken bird this morning and very much needed this. It’s been a hard week for me and I’m really sore because of it. I got a few chuckles out of your video too. Perfect, thank you.

  • Athletesthis one is for you! While you wait, try this new 10 min morning yoga stretch:

  • I know what this did for me.  It made light of all the scary things i’ve seen.  Nothing really seems bad now.  So i dunno.  I’m gonna go eat breakfast.

  • Love this short class!! As a skier it has great crossover for me so not just for soccer players, which had initially put me off. More like this please Kassandra.:)

  • Awesome little compilation of poses, thank you Kassandra… been playing soccer for 40 years, yoga for 20, and I always found goddess pose the most challenging (aaaargh!!), glad it was in this sequence, namaste

  • Thank YOU! We love the comments and are super happy we can help! Let us know if there are any other types of specific videos you’d like to see!

  • Winner of a video, been searching for “which yoga is best beginner?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across Fonylan Inconceivable Future (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )?

It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to get your sexiest body without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.

  • This is absolutely been my favorite series. I enjoy the whole channel though, making effort for 10 to 15 minutes of yoga every morning

  • Great moves!
All my body hurt due to Insanity workout. I was feeling it all in my back, I knew I needed to stretch and this vid appeared!
All moves are awesome. I understand that the vid is already 30mins long and you were shortening the same as much as you could, but I actually would prefer to make those move longer while listening the instructions.

It was my first time doing yoga EVER and at a point I was like “Come on!! I can’t do all that so fast” haha.

    Anyway, awesome job!

  • YES! Thank you! I’ve been having a hard time finding quick a post workout stretch that includes shoulder openers. This sequence was perfect and really did encompass the whole body.

  • Great cool down video. Perfect amount of time. Not too difficult. Can easily work for someone more flexible or advanced as well as beginners.

  • Thank you for video! My body was really stretching. It was a very refreshing morning. For anyone reading my comment I wish you have a wonderful day and peaceful life where all your dreams become true.❤️

  • Thank you. Even though I am not an athlete my hips and legs are very tight. I hope this helps if I do this a few times a week. Have a great day
