  • I Quit smoking two weeks ago. I saw one doctor say there is evidence to suggest that smoking can take as much as 10 years off your life (maybe more). If you quit before 30 you can get back those 10 years and if you quit before 40 you can get as much as 9 years back. After that it goes down to 6 years and by 60 you may get back 4 years. I am 38. So if you are pushing 30 or 40, quit now and you may still have an average life expectancy as oppose to a much shorter one. If you are over 40 still do it, you may beat expectations. Either way it will mean a longer life no matter when you quit, and a better quality of life too.

  • Losing weight does not mean you are healthy. Proper nutrition is key to good health, not weight. Keto increases cholesterol, risk of kidney disease and digestive issues. Just because you lose weight does not mean it’s healthy. Thanks for sharing some truth.

  • Keto is really not good for you. You NEED carbs. It’s excess carbs that are the problem here. You’ll run into so many problems if you stick with the low carb diet long term. You need your macros!! To lose fat, don’t cut foods from your diet, figure out how to “eat more and weigh less” by consuming veggies and fruits and lean meats like chicken.

    Losing weight is a great thing, and keto type diets work better than low fat diet. The problem with low fat diets is that people will eventually quit and gain back all their lost weight and more. People who can stick to keto keep the weight off.
    Also, the reason keto dieters stop losing weight is because they are reaching a healthy weight.
    It’s well known that low fat diets don’t work because of constant hunger. Keto diets, on the other hand, can be maintained because hunger is basically eliminated. Also, there are no limits on how much food you can eat on a keto diet, unlike low fat diets. The low fat diet doesn’t work because restricting calories causes insatiable hunger, where the keto diet does not. If somebody quits the keto diet, it’s because they don’t have the discipline, not because of hunger. Low fat dieters almost always quit because hunger forces them to eat.
    Keto works, and disciplined people can stay on the diet.

    But truth be told, the most notable difference I have perceived is the sense of smell. I don’t feel better nor stronger nor more energetic. I do get less winded and pressure is indeed back to normal.
    I’ve smoked 2 packs a day for 24 years.
    Reason for quitting: I was still healthy, and wanted to keep it that way.

    Today is 10th Aug 2020.
    I have successfully completed 1 year.
    In this 1 year I only took 1 puff ��
    Journey was great.
    My life no longer revolves around smoking.
    It is no longer a part of my personality.
    If you can find my comment which was posted 12 months back, you’ll see my everyday struggle there.
    Before this one year, I had tried atleast 20 times to quit. I was one pack a day.
    It was very difficult in the beginning.

  • I quit smoking 5 months ago, I promised my wife when she got pregnant that Ill quit. (I used to smoke half a pack a day since I was 18 years old now I am 39)

  • I was all ready to start taking NAC a few weeks ago until during my last bit of research I found material saying it was found to develop/make worse pulmonary arterial hypertension PAH? That didn’t sound like a desirable outcome. Like anything with science all you find are contradictions.

  • Its not black and white. Eating too much farm factory meat and cheese has its problems. People consume excessive salt with it. Eating 50% carbs however is too high and its what is causing our sugar issues. Refined flours, whitened rice and corn are the problem. The happy medium is consuming a lower amount. 30% is probably good and mainly whole carbs like beans, potatoes and legumes, or carrots or whole corn and peas. Then maybe 30% protein and 40 % good fats (nuts, olives, avocados, coconut, and maybe 5-10% animal based if you want but non processed and free range. It has to be balanced.

Ketogenic or Carnivore diet are the only diets humans ate for 99% of its existence, carbs only came in the last 10.000 years with agriculture and it brought all the “modern diseases” with it, aka diabetes, alzheimers, dementia, cancer etc. Eating what you are made of is not dangerous, it is madness to think otherwise! Cholesterol, animal protein and saturated animal fats is what your body consists of, eating anything else is just a slave diet.

  • Well explained! Glutathione epigenomic differences have been linked to vitamin D receptor changes in diabetes leading to epithelial issues. Vitamin D studies show link to vWF, especially for patients with HD (we treat with calcitriol, which upregulates vitamin D receptors)
    Vitamin D and L-cysteine combo potentially overcomes this GSH deficiency/epigenome differences, as well.
