Gratitude can improve your physical health by strengthening your immune system, lowering your blood pressure and making you less bothered by aches and pains. In team sports, in addition to improving overall well-being, gratitude can increase team satisfaction and decrease athlete burnout. There are various ways to practice mindfulness including, but not limited to, meditation and bringing attention to our daily activities. The Gratitude Exercise.
One example of a mindfulness exercise is called the Gratitude exercise. First, think of one thing for which you are ungrateful. Welcome back to Monday Mindfulness, brought to you by Stop, Breathe & Think. Going into a new week is tough. We believe the best way to start it off right is with a little peace of mind.
Here’s one quick and simple way to establish emotional wellness, every day. Gratitude can. Below is a brief meditation you can do to send love and gratitude to them. Find a comfortable seat on a cushion, chair, or yoga mat. Sit up tall, lengthen your spine, and keep your gaze soft and focused at an unmoving point in front of you.
Observe the sounds that you can hear around you, as well as the sensations you can feel. Take a few deep breaths. Inhale through the nose, and exhale. In other words, Monday presents a great opportunity to tap into the power of your mind. “Mindful Monday” can take different forms for all of us, but in a nutshell, it entails making a point to include periods of mindfulness throughout the day. Sometimes, a simple mindfulness practice is all we need to help press the reset button.
You can do this one-minute mini-practice anytime, anywhere, and people don’t even have to know you’re doing it. Try it while sitting at your desk, riding the bus or even walking. For example, gratitude allows you to change your perception from “I have to wake up and go to the gym” to “I get to wake up and go to the gym.” 4 It also helps when you may not meet your goals, so instead of thinking “I only had time for half my workout. Too bad.” you might instead think “I got out there and broke a sweat, and I’m grateful to have had the chance to do so.”.
Mindfulness is the quality of being present — the experience of being open and aware in the moment, without judgment or criticism, focusing your mind on the present rather than wandering. Meditation is the practice of training your mind for everyday mindfulness. You learn to strengthen your mind as you become more familiar with yourself.
Choosing your words and your thoughts carefully, now more than ever, is imperative to whether you thrive or dive. With so many people in the meetings and hospitality industry either working from home, furloughed or laid off—or just worried about their future—I developed the following wellness and mindfulness techniques to provide support. 1. Journaling. Writing down a few things you are grateful for is one of the easiest and most popular exercises available.
The purpose of the exercise is to reflect on the past day, few days, or week, and remember 3-5 things you are especially grateful for.
List of related literature:
Lastly, you want to make sure you set the intention of exercising this practice daily, because the more you take time to express gratitude the more you will notice the abundant blessings God has given to you.
7 Compassion and kindness Mindful stretching; awareness of breath, sounds, sensations, thoughts, emotions and mental states; kindness and compassion discussion; eyes on exercise; kindness meditation.
Look forward to what you will experience during your exercise session, so that you can take your mindfulness—a curious, open, and nonjudgmental attitude—with you, helping you be ready
daily life (eating meals, walking to meetings, brushing our teeth, taking a shower) can help counteract these tendencies so we can continue to have the benefit of mindfulness as we face these new challenges.

I’m a 66-y/o 10,000-12,000 steps per day walker (including fairly mild-mod hills), but injured L knee and broke L tibia. One of the silver linings of this injury is finding your chair cardio workouts. They are great! I have done several and this cardio/strength combination is my favorite both as a workout and because I find it knee friendly. I’ll keep doing these once also walking again. (And I’m contributing at the $5/month rate via Paypal, so a lump sum rather than monthly.) Thank you for your commitment to movement as medicine!
Thanks so much for these chair workouts. They have been such a gift as I recover from surgery. Movement truly is medicine. These workouts not only help my physical recovery but have allowed me to stay focused on what I CAN do vs. what I CAN’T during recovery. You are a blessing Caroline!
Thanks, Caroline! I’ve been in a boot for almost a year now (one surgery down, at least one more to go), and I’m so glad I found you! I used to run 15-20 miles a week and your videos are the first time since this all started I’ve had a real workout, actually focused on what I CAN do instead of wallowing in everything I can’t, and felt like someone understands all the messy emotions that go with an injury like this. You’re fantastic. And your cute outfits make me want to treat myself to something new to work out in (seems fair given all the money I’m saving in running shoes)!
Thank you for these videos! I’m in Kennewick, WA. I’ve been trying to workout through what I recently learned is a broken foot, so I was very glad to find your videos now that I’m off my foot for 6 weeks. These videos are wonderful!
This is a GREAT combo of chair and strength. Been doing chair for awhile, but this workout is definitely more of a challenge in terms of sweat and effort. Love it! Need more! If you are new, just keep at it! You can do it!! Leawood, KS
Thank you so much for these seated workouts. I’ve been doing more exercise for about a month and trying to lose weight. I had just reached the point where that stubborn scale needle was starting to move and I badly sprained my ankle on a camping trip. I’m so glad I’ve been able to continue exercising. I can really see continuing to do these exercises when my ankle heals because they are so gentle on my joints.
Day by day, step by step, you are helping me changing my life! Thank you so much! It is priceless…I am so grateful! I send you lots of Love and Gratitude!
Thanks Caroline! You have helped me stay active throughout my recovery from ankle fracture. I so appreciate your expertise and enthusiasm! I recommended your videos to my surgeon and P.A. so they can share with others.
I love Mindful Movement. I listen to the healing meditations every night. I automatically chose Mindful Movement for this morning meditation. I made it part of the way through, completing the counting breath exercise and as I continued the music made me feel like I was in a horror film. I had to stop the anxiety became so bad. I also read and know some of the listeners love the music. This is honest feedback knowing how wonderful MM usually is. Thank you for your ministry.
Can you do an inner and outer thigh workout for bad/injured knees and for overweight people. I just tried to do your inner thigh one and it was plank positions, and I’m not there yet.
I love this! I recently injured soft tissue in both my left wrist and left ankle and have been afraid to exercise, but this was awesome. Challenging, but painless. I am a happy, sweaty mess. Thank you so much!:D
Caroline! I just love this. Thank you so much for incorporating dumbbells this go around. What a great addition. Cannot express to you how grateful I am for all your work, expertise and cheerful motivation. I love getting one or two of these videos in a day during this seemingly long recovery, and even though I “may” know a few verbatim, I always listen with the sound on for the gentle reminders about form and for the encouragement. Smiling is definitely advanced! I’m here in Southeastern CT but through the beauty of technology you just came back from Martha’s Vineyard with me! Hope you’re new home is perfect! -April
What a beautiful spirit you have I’ve been doing your videos due to some torn ligaments in my ankle. This is very challenging and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you
Thank you for another chair cardio with weights work out! And, thank you for doing the whole work out with us (and not editing one set in a loop). Love it! Love you!
Hi from Portsmouth in England. Thank you for another great workout. I am mostly sticking to chair workouts as am recovering from pesky plantar that’s how I found you. I thought chair workouts would be too easy but they are great. I especially like how you have started adding weights. 8lb though?!!! You are a machine! I do prefer it when you alternate between cardio and strength as I really struggled at the end (with my lightweight 3lbs!!) Thanks again
Thank you Caroline for awesome chair cardio workouts! I injured my left hip the end of June and had surgery July 16th and now I’m healing. Found your workouts soon after my injury and they have been a life saver for me. I had been doing Barre 5-6 days a week before my injury plus paddle boarding. Thank you so much for your wonderful workouts and up beat encouragement!
Hi I’m chairing with you from Western Australia . This is a great mix of cardio and strength (although I do prefer cardio) and I love the option of alternating arms so I can lift heavier. Currently suffering suspected mostly mild (touch wood!) plantar fasciitis so these chair workouts are a fun and perfect way to maintain my fitness. Thank you and good luck with your new apartment .
Thank you so much Caroline.! I am 64 yrs old in Calgary, AB Canada. I have been in isolation with Rheumatoid Arthritis, degenerative disc disease and foot problems since March. three months ago I was just sitting in my chair watching tv and gained a few pounds. Found your channel and have become addicted. Lost a few pound and abs tightening. No longer sitting in my chair! Love your cheery personality! and this combined workout!
Definitely worked up a sweat in Barbados! Lots of great motivation! My one leg can’t do everything at the moment, but it will again! Thanks for the video!
Love the strength and cardio. Such a good workout. It was challenging loved it. Love all your workouts they have really helped since Ive been having heel problems. Thank you

I really like your voice and the things you have to say. And I feel this is more like a gentle lecture with good advice rather than a gratitude lecture. I am saving it and may share it, but not for daily listening, more for learning from HOW to go about a meditation of gratitude. THANK YOU
Lovely meditation but the background music is super stressful and disturbing. Major chords bring up positive emotions, minor chords elicit negative ones. This music is all minor chords. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24957406/
Background music was hard to concentrate sound like a suspense movie. Also hard to concentrate with the mic being so close to the narrators mouth that you could hear them making noises with their mouth.
Hi Caroline, I’m so glad i found your videos. I have dyspraxia and I’ve always found exercise videos really hard to follow but you explain things really well. Can i ask when doing the chair side extensions and crunches i end up with hip pain so was standing up insteas but is there likely to be a reason for that? Something i need to change in how I’m doing them? I appreciate it might be hard to say! Thanks again… you’re fantastic! (I’m sweating in Worcestershire, England)
It literally makes me ill listening to this lady’s spit move around in her mouth. Every time she talks or moves her mouth you can here the spit. It’s sounds so disgusting! Yuck!
Hi Caroline, I started doing your seated exercises this week, I love it! I have RA and depend on a walker and I can’t do exercises standing. Thank you so much for helping those like me with your seated exercises. I’m looking forward to loosing weight, get strong, and feeling good every day!
Darn, I’ve loved all your meditations.. but this one I had to stop early and check out the comments to see if people were hearing what I was hearing… the music was scary/sad/dramatic sounding. Really made it difficult to feel happy and positive. When I looked at the comments, I’m seeing that many agree.
As always you’ve started my daily with peace and tranquility!!! I feel like I’m floating…I guess whatever was on my mind has been lifted…Your meditations have brought a calm and peace into my life mentally that can be seen physically…Please keep making these Meditations they are Heaven sent…I pray that all who view this video will be blessed and the speaker as well…Thank you so much again…
I feel the video was a description of what gratitude is and its advantages. I was looking for a meditation which reminds me of all the things I’m grateful for a more 1-on-1 conversation that makes me think of all the great things that I might have forgotten:)
Lying here suffering extremely as ever on a Sunday morning having missed my alarms again, still plagued with a plethora of unwanted memories, thoughts, replays, fears, sensations, and absolutely no clarity or relief. No professional has ever helped no matter whom, how and what I’ve tried. Amongst many other disciplined practical and spiritual efforts, I always meditate a few times everyday yet in lying awake here this morning still with extremely uncomfortable symptoms including nausea, pains, weakness, fatigue, suicidal thoughts, depression, skin problems, scars, sore throat, brain fog, dizziness, isolation, ugliness, shaking, unproductiveness and all the bad etc. Daily I’ve been provoked to shout, swear, scream, self harm, rot away clumsiness, falling asleep,, and right nwo evne in the kroning I cannot keep my eyes open not sit up without falling asleep even though I exercise, sleep, eat and drink healthily, research, set positive intentions, have determinstion, pray etc. Please can someone help me to fix my life.
So this would be perfect if I didn’t hear her swallowing her spit & making mouth noises multiple times throughout the meditation. It makes it REALLY difficult to 100% focus and meditate when she’s continually making mouth noises, popping noises and hearing her swallow her spit next to the mic. It throws me off my meditation every morning. If it wasn’t for the mouth noises, this meditation would be 200% perfect music & all!
However, on a positive note, I’ve listened to this every morning for a week and it is helping me with gratitude tremendously. ❤
I am very grateful for the intention of this video, though for me there is way too much constant talking for it to be a meditation. I’d suggest it more as a affirmations exercise. Much love and light to all ✨
That was wonderful, thank you. If I may offer some constructive video focused feedback? It was unfortunate that the video ends quite soon after you finish guiding and as such immediately after the video ends an advert smashed through my state. May I suggest in future videos to leave say a 3 minutes or so loop of music so your viewers / listeners can ease their way back to the present? Thanks again for this meditation. It’s gorgeous in the early morning sun! Peace.
Lady you have really bad dry mouth and you should redo this whole video because all I could focus on was the sound of your mouth you swallowing and your dry mouth and to the music is mad creepy so I’m not trying to be an a**** but just saying
I have heard a lot of guided meditation, this is one my favorites. I became teary eyed to be grateful not only to good things, but to obstacles that make us resilient, patient and a better individual. ❤️
This was not a meditation it was a diatribe that you should be grateful no matter what rather than allowing you to think about what you are grateful for and relax into your day, actually stressed me more than when I started and I definitely won’t be doing this one again.
Thank you for your wonderful guided meditation. I listen everyday to different ones & have some extra special ‘go to’ ones. I am so grateful to you for sharing these healing calming enlightening meditations that have changed my life for the better in so many ways
… wow… i just loved your words… for me your voice and words were spot on.. also the piano music made me feel floating on little waves on a calm ocean… what a great way to start my day thanks and with gratitude from the Netherlands
This is one of the best Gratitude meditations on YT. I’ve done this many times and it still brings me to tears during some sessions; the profound wisdom of the simple comments (being grateful for being tired because there is gratitude to be had knowing that you’ve contributed to making the world a better place; being grateful for the challenges of life as its part of the journey) and their relevance for specific things I’ve just experienced. Thank You! I’m so grateful for this resource ❤
I feel I learned more about why I should do one, but didn’t really feel any gratitude. I already know why… that’s why I’m trying to do one. No time to feel anything. Just drilling how it’s so easy to be grateful for the good things, but you need to be grateful for the bad things. In my normal gratitude practice I usually think about the good things… and it helps deepen my appreciation for things I don’t always think about. Idk not really what I was looking for
I’ve listening to this video every morning in the last few weeks and It’s amazing how it has helped me to start my day positive and calm. The voice is soft and the quotes are incredibly wise. Many times times I feel emotive when listening to it. I want thank you guys for sharing that.
Lots of words for a meditation, as if reading from a script… Instead give some guidance and allow us, the listeners, to feel the experience that our thoughts and emotions create.
❤ I am so thankful for having your resonating voice to mentor me back to a peaceful space within. It is a journey of discovery to listen to many different meditations and to realize that not just any voice will do.
I can’t tell you how impactful this was for me. I cried tears of joy and release. I have a new appreciation for myself and for the nature of reality. Thank you so much.
Sarah! Sarah! Sarah! Your meditations are just what every person needs in their lives to keep them grounded & focused. I am sooooo grateful ❤️ I have come across your meditations it has become part of my daily morning special time with you & connecting with God & helps me set up my day. I luvvvv all your meditations but some do stand out more for some reason or another because it catches you at the right time depending on what you are going through at the time…..this one is DEFINITELY one of them it took me to a beautiful place the subtle calming background music & your voice was just perfect So much of gratitude to you Sarah for coming into my life wish you love ❤️ & peace…Kay Griffiths X
I love this meditation, it’s one that I keep coming back to. I especially like the imagery of breathing in light, love and peace and the suggestions at the end. Thank you for offering these wonderful meditations, and for all the thought put into making it easy for us to connect to our gratitude and all that is positive in our lives.
Shukr karna yaad dilane ka dil se shukriya. Shukr hai kisi ne aaj phir se shukr karna yaad dilaya. God is really kind… thank you, thank you, thank you.. Thank you God for Everything..
I really love your videos and how easily adaptable your workouts are. I’m a paraplegic and really miss working with my personal trainer. Thank you so much for the work you’re doing. you have a big fan in NY
I usually wouldn’t comment on videos bUt i musty say that I am very grateful to have found your guided meditations and your soul is beautiful the immense clarity and peace you left with me throughout this guided meditation is wonderful and for that I am forever grateful. THANK YOU!
Hello I just discovered you video and I love it just wondered do you any video to help develop our psychics abilities or third eye? Let me know Thank you
Beautiful Sara Raymond, thank You for million times! You have amazing voice, and this meditation is so completely… I’ve experienced fantastic emotions trough listening… and that natural smile on the end, just when you mentioned it… synchronicity… Beautiful. Sending to You love, gratitude, positive thoughts and wishing to You all the best… Greetings from Serbia.
Thank you for these videos. I have never come across a YouTube channel so amazing as yours. I listen to your guided meditations before work everyday and I have never experienced anything so profound in my life before. Your positive energy stays with me all day and keeps a smile on my face when the daily grind trys to tear me down. I pray that you keep the positivity flowing so I might be renewed every day. God bless you, and keep up the good work.
This is quickly becoming a new favorite! I find the mantras to be particularly effectiveI even made a Mind Movie using the affirmations from your meditation that focuses on those! The music for this is just right; having the higher timbre of tones is uplifting in and of itself. Thank you for continuing to expand your library of guided meditations.
This is one of your best meditations! You’re voice and the music together fit just perfectly:) Thank you so much to remind me on how gratitude is important part of my life, every day. Namaste!
Thank you for this meditation. It helps even if I don’t know anymore how to release pain. The pain that I feel is the only thing that connects me with my loved one that I lost 3 months ago. I’m struggling to be positive and to feel positive.

They have been such a gift as I recover from
surgery. Movement truly is medicine. These workouts not only help my physical recovery but have allowed me to stay focused on what I CAN do vs. what I CAN’T during recovery. You are a blessing Caroline!
Awesome workout pressed for time.loved it.could u make a weekly workout monday to saturday or a workout calender if u could consider.
Wow wow wow. A tear came to my eye doing that as I thought about how rich my life really is. Thank you for sharing your practice x
I’ve done most of your chair cardio workouts and this is my fav! I love how good (tired!) my arms feel when I’m done. Thank you Caroline!!
-April
Hi From Sarasota, Fl. I injured my ankle and am so happy to have found your chair video’s. Challenging without stressing my ankle. Thank you!
Another great routine Caroline. The weights are a fantastic addition. I was using cans but I will invest in some proper weights. ️♀️
What a beautiful spirit you have
I’ve been doing your videos due to some torn ligaments in my ankle.

Much love and light to all ✨
I usually love the meditations on this channel. But this one had a lot of explanations. It defeats the purpose. It was distracting to me.
I love this meditation. It has changed my life I start my day with this and other meditations, yoga and healing music. Very powerful.
This started as meditation then it was like a lesson, it wasn’t “guided”. First time I’ve stopped a meditation halfway through, not good sorry.
Sarah! Sarah! Sarah! Your meditations are just what every person needs in their lives to keep them grounded & focused. I am sooooo grateful
❤️ I have come across your meditations it has become part of my daily morning special time with you & connecting with God & helps me set up my day. I luvvvv all your meditations but some do stand out more for some reason or another because it catches you at the right time depending on what you are going through at the time…..this one is DEFINITELY one of them it took me to a beautiful place the subtle calming background music & your voice was just perfect
So much of gratitude to you Sarah for coming into my life wish you love ❤️ & peace…Kay Griffiths X
I love this meditation, it’s one that I keep coming back to. I especially like the imagery of breathing in light, love and peace and the suggestions at the end. Thank you for offering these wonderful meditations, and for all the thought put into making it easy for us to connect to our gratitude and all that is positive in our lives.
Wow truly beautiful, i felt so illuminated in love and peace. Much love and gratitude to my guide in this meditation, THANKYOU ❤✌
