20 Minute Mindfulness Meditation for Being Present / Mindful Movement

Try beginning your week with this simple mindful breathing exercise that will help you develop a sense of calm and focus. The beauty of mindful breathing is that you can practice it anywhere and anytime, without special equipment or advanced knowledge. All you need is the air in your lungs, a little intention and you’re good to go.

This Monday, try fitting mindfulness into your schedule with these simple suggestions. As far as time is concerned, you can spend as little as one or two minutes at a time practicing mindfulness. If you have 15 to 20 minutes to spare, that’s great!

But you can also take a minute or so to close your eyes and clear your head. Now that you know you don’t have to devote an. Sometimes, especially when trying to calm yourself in a stressful moment, it might help to start by taking an exaggerated breath: a deep inhale through your nostrils (3 seconds), hold your breath (2 seconds), and a long exhale through your mouth (4 seconds).

Check out your Mindfulness Monday Quick Hit below. Step outside and feel your feet firmly on the ground. Close your eyes and take in a deep breath filling your lungs completely. Exhale gently and slowly open your eyes. Try this simple mindfulness practice: Start with some deep, simple breaths.

This will naturally prepare you to relax by lowering your heart rate and blood pressure. Place your awareness on your breath, inhaling and exhaling normally through your nose. When thoughts arise, simply label them, “thinking” or “wandering” to yourself, and return your awareness to your breath. By practicing mindfulness, you can ease your stress by focusing on the positive things in your setting. Try this simple practice next time you’re stuck in line: Give yourself space.

Find a comfortable distance between yourself and others. Respecting people’s personal space can help everyone feel calmer and less anxious. Breathe. Take some deep breaths while focusing on the sights and sounds of your. You try to remember your meetings and commitments (both inside and outside the office), maybe even wonder how you can possibly squeeze it all into one week.

Kicking off your week with this mental whirlwind is a surefire path to a bad day. Stop the stress-spiral before it begins with just 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation.   • I was super relaxed at first but something started feeling really off… At first it felt like there were needles poking me, my bakc started to hurt and I just got this really bad feeling

  • Meditation begins to work, you’ll know. That dude who takes your parking spot? The kid who flips you off? The flight attendant who refuses to bring you a beer. The store is closed. You sleep in and rush to your appointment. Waking in the morning on a Tuesday for the commute to work vs waking on a Saturday or Sunday morning at home. Your wife and kids fight with you? The dog or the cat is gone? Your boyfriend /girlfriend leaves you. Your boss yells at you? You can sleep at night like a human being.

  • I just finished the meditation and I had to tell you that when you were guided to make this meditation, it was absolutley from spirit. I didnt look for any specific type of meditation other than, morning guided meditation, and every word in this meditation spoke to me. It was like it was my guides speaking audiably. Last night for the first time I started foing little things on purpose that I was doing to start showing myself self love and care again, after years of not doing so. I started getting that message a couple weeks ago and I know I got them because this is a stepping stool to achieve greater goals I’ve been asking them help with. But I got their message that this was important to start the snowball effect. And in the mediattion you mentioned this specifically. My eyes got watery. Besides this, this mediation was the first to really help me get in that super relaxed state in a WHILE. Thank you!

  • Mental health is as important as our physical well-being and especially during these times where we have so much uncertainty brought about by this virus outbreak. Often time our focus is only on physical health and no wonder despite how healthy we appear outside, we might be going through hell inside. Sooner or later, the hardships we are going through in our minds will turn into physical ailments.

    Mindfulness/meditation practices can help us counter the underlying unknown mental issues that we might even not aware.     Today, my upper right back is a little sore.
    Whenever I breathe deeply, the right side of my back body is in pain. I have always had trouble breathing in deeply when I was younger. I feel a bit down today.

  • This meditation always surprises me. This always brings me into the total relaxation of hovering between asleep and awake. My mind usually fights “count downs” but for some reason, this one works. Everything after she gets to “one” is kind of a blur until we start counting back up to awareness. Love this meditation.

    THIS IS IMPORTANT.
    IDK how to tell you this, but we are in serious need of meditation in order to raise our vibrations. And, the meditations will also help us to relinquish the past, and welcome the new future. The reason why it’s so urgent is because we had the 36 year window, 18 years before, and 18 years after December 21, 2012. And, it is not clear how much longer Kryon will be our guide through this human evolution. The energies of the earth, and of humanity are changing, and we must help them to change into the mysterious beautiful future we want to experience. We are told by channeler Alcazar of the Kryon Group that we should incorporate meditations of gratitude, of deep gratitude that fills the heart. Think of something or someone that you are thankful for, and hold that feeling. And then feel it deep in your heart. And hold it there.

    Let’s meditate to vibrate higher, and to ring in our mysterious, beautiful, new future, together.

  • I was feeling it until I was trying to do the visualization and you were speaking throughout all of it. I was very difficult to get back in the present moment and kinda ruined the rest of the mediation for me

  • The frequent lip-smacking ruined it for me. I get cringey hearing someone’s mouth noises all the way up my earbuds, loud & emphasized. Eeek. Couldn’t finish listening to this

  • There are some nice things in this meditation, and I know everyone has their own preferences but I agree with some others on here that the many of the spaces to repeat the affirmations is too short. In a calm state, and to really feel the words, we repeat at a slower pace than what is allowed. So sometimes the feeling in this is the opposite of calm and turns to a bit of hurry and anxiety in order to finish by the time of the next affirmation. The speed in the beats of the music create this as well. That is why most meditation videos have slower, more soothing and softer music.

  • I really like my 5 am calm before the world wakes up morning meditations, but felt a little whipped with this Emotionless, Matter of fact, Bullet point presentation. Good diction and clarity of voice does not equal calm and relaxing.

  • This was really nice, I laughed though in the ball of golden light part because my synesthesia was giving me a thousand shades of purple with the background music, I still saw the ball of light, but purple.

  • I absolutely love this meditation, just the way it is. The ball of light did not move fast for me at first so I breathed through where it got stuck without stressing and soon is was whizzing up and down Np. Hope that might help others who have trouble at that point to move through it effortlessly. Great meditation for setting daily intention! ��

  • This is a very bad meditation practice. I normally appreciate visualisation practices, but here they invite you to imagine a magical ball of light moving through your body, and then make some prayers. I like my meditation without mysticism, so I highly recommend doing a full body scan instead.

  • I feel like it’s our responsibility to get grounded and centered and focused before beginning. I had the same reaction as most on here about the quality then soon realized that’s my responsibility. I can only speak for myself of course but felt like sharing this might help open up some eyes. I’ve learned, personally, if I center and ground before attempting a guided meditation I’m able to do exactly as instructed when I’m instructed.

  • Remember what meditation means:
    A technique that aims to achieve spiritual progress, in which the practitioner, in a comfortable position, focuses his attention on a thing, or an image, to then gradually empty his mind of thoughts.
    Apparently it’s great that you can empty your thoughts, the question is what do we fill this inner void. Because there are serious people who have reached a performance and I confess that this gap must be filled with something. Or we strive for fullness, we seek to fulfill ourselves and this can only be in a relationship with another person. Or meditation involves an impersonal relationship, and it is very dangerous because exposing myself to the unknown empties me to become the abode of demons.
    How do I check if this meditation is beneficial for me? Also in relation to the other, if the other one bothers me, if I put myself in the center and I don’t put the other one in the center, selfishness works. I despise the other, it bothers me that he doesn’t thank me when I help him, I didn’t get rid of pride.

    Or all Protestant and neo-Protestant beliefs bypass the cross, flee from suffering. So it is clear that although by their sincere desire to reach the target, which is close, they can never reach it. They can never reach fullness, but they are deceived.
    Our target must be a person in order to be able to fulfill ourselves in the relationship. This person is Christ Jesus, He is the living God, who responds to my love for Him. It can’t be otherwise. The Eastern beliefs propose to us an impersonal God of great deception, gradually you let yourself be possessed by spirits foreign to the True God, who will reveal themselves when we are sincere and willing to verify whose spirit we are.
    Behind any energy, or state is a spirit. And if we are not tried enough and do not have an experienced person, or clergyman, to help us recognize the spirits very easily we can be deceived. Demons can appear as light, as angels, as heat, as cute humans or animals, and so on. The demonic work disappears at the call to prayer of the name of Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, or at the making of the sign of the Holy Cross.

For a while, I was cutting myself to relieve everything I was holding inside, but now I’m trying to fight my depression with meditation and finding love in myself, and so far I think it’s working. Would you consider re-recording it with your voice at a slower pace, maybe repeating each affirmation, and with different, more calming music (like in your other videos)?

  • Body is like the wick of the candle and mind is like the glow, Rest are details., if you go into the meditation with the thought of I am nothing, i want nothing and i will do nothing, result is pure Bliss.

  • It is a good meditation but too fast paced to really go deep with the words, and the drums at the begging where distracting. And I kept losing the voice, and didn’t understand somethings and had to open the eyes and follow with the captions.

  • HI. I think the music was a bad choice. For meditation should be an ambience calm sound. And I think this kind of rythm stresses more and distracts of the real practice is.

  • I find that the tempo of these videos is too fast (relative to the speech). I now play them at 0.75 playback speed. At this setting, they are more relaxing and allow me to concentrate more on the message.
