Animals are another great tool! I rescued an adorable pit bull in August and as hard as it’s been to help her work through her past abuse it’s been so rewarding and just as good for me as it has been for her! I rarely have been as proud in my life as I am of her. It’s only been 3 months but she’s already a totally different dog! She’s helped my sleep too and brings me out of getting stuck on my bed in hard moments when she literally gets in my face.
I’m feeling really bad, I’m in a toxic relationship, drugs and alcohol are my escape, I need and want help because I don’t like the way I live. I’m not doing this as a joke, please help me

I’ve been totally flooded with my emotions lately and no one to go to thank you so much for making this video. It helps a lot with my current situations.
Please cut the music, I am a highly-sensitive person and it absolutely makes me nervous and heavily distracts me from the information. I think I cannot even finish it.

There’s one too many bad people who never apologize or don’t mean their apology so fuck that as for me I’m not like them there’s nothing to apologize for but to let them go as to not interfere with my life other than that there is karma…
Parts of this were so cute, really humorous and super useful. Thanks for what u do. It good to hear the positive reasonable messages. Your like a good friend.
It’s good that this type of channel exists but I wish I never have to see this type of videos…..but life is strange and not all get to see the real essence of life and end up being mentally and exhausted

I love how important sleep is for your mental and physical help. but how the heck are you supposed to sleep with kids who refuse to do it?! I would LOVE to get enough sleep! But, I mean, kids….
Mental wellness starts in the gut. It’s called the gut-brain axis! Did you know this? 70-90% of our serotonin and dopamine is produced in our microbiome?
I am grateful that I don’t have to run around catching the molecules out of the air and the soil in order to create My food. Every time I eat something I’m grateful that somebody else could grow that and that was not me.
These tips are interesting, but for some you need the energy to do them. I’m often very very low on energy, which makes it very difficult to even think about having the energy to go to a store or change my room… I know it’s usually when i’m overstimulated by work (like today) and my energy will come back (always very slowly, but i still heal…). So its also okay to just lay in bed and wait for the energy to come… Next to movies, watching old pictures/ eating or sniffing favorite food from my childhood also helps…
Believe in ancient Indian traditional culture with livelihood. yoga, Ayurveda and practice of vegitarian food habit, those are unbelievable and astonishing systems which can ever bring prosperity of mental health and physical health as well. Those would make us live longer upto 100 years.
It’s really sad that we have to appreciate everything he says only after listening to a Ted talk. I mean we all know what he is saying on some level even before watching this video. But the sedantary life style has programmed us to find comfort living inside our heads and lead us into mental health problems gradually!
Ok…sry the smoochiness has to stop, I was all of these things and all I want to say is, don’t be a stupid naive good person in a world where the oposite is appreciated. You will end up with depression again and again and again… every single person who preaches about “how to” dosen’t know nothing about being there, even my old teacher agrees who is a physiologist. This is a 5year olds mentality… sry but it’s the truth.
It’s day 3 of me just got out of a breakup…..im trying my best to move on and do something nice for myself but it’s hard…it still hurts…..I don’t want the pain to stay….that’s why even tho it hurts I keep moving forward…… It hurts alot….. I don’t want to feel like this anymore…..

Overthinking is the problem for everything in our life. When we start overthinking just alert your mind that you are overthinking and also doing things which makes you happy, which boosts your confidence and self esteem will definitely helps.
I recently discovered your channel and I am so glad I did! I am doing my Masters in Clinical Psychology and I really enjoy your content. My favourite mental health tips are: spending time with loved ones embracing a passion (fantasy for me:D) healthy lifestyle without being overly restrictive (physical activity, lots of vegetables and fruits)

I like this show/channel so far. 3rd video deep. Tho, I’m not big into a majority of the things I’ve learned about psychology. And it’s use and application or misuse and misunderstandings on my loved ones including myself (from a newly spiritual place I say that last part.). If I had to contribute any tips it would be to go with your instincts and gut feelings when trying to help a friend in serious need… especially if you recognize and are recognized often by others as an empathic person… you probably already feel and no what to do.*
*sorry to say that if u have been diagnosed with any schizophrenia type differences in behavior… I’m not so sure that applies and also I’m not a medical dr. Just thoughts n tips.
All you people out there, never give up detoxing your emotions because I have been doing this so far now that I’m my 30s and it has been working for me just to be a better person

Hmmmmm…I wonder if by displacing our emotions, or mental needs into other things will actually supply that primary need, would heal that deficiency. It has been my experience that it works.-for a relative time, especially when one chooses some activity that is or could be enjoyed., but sooner or later the main need has to be attended. Time and energy are better used by looking at the problem, accepting it, and healing. Creating a diversion makes the process longer and adds to the initial problem; that is why we fall into a slump here or there. ***But whichever helps us along the way that is very good; we are all different. Which ever way we can get, direct or indirect, to solve our needs, that is what ultimately counts.
Exercise….a good medicine for the mind…and it does work…it worked for me and it’s made a significant difference to my world …I’m learning to meet with myself for the first time…I suffered from possession and for years had my ruled by what was happening within me…yesterday’s gone and I’ve been exercised and I feel like I’m back to my usual self..it’s truly amazing…a weight has been lifted…I am looking forward to a happier future…before I close this comment I have one very important thing to say…during the time I was unexercised I was very ill if battled ill health and bad mental health for many years…since being exercised in showing improvement…I feel different I’m not feeling as I’ll as I did…there has been a significant change…I don’t feel as mental and as mad as I was I really wasn’t well I was very ill I was not great…since exorcism I feel very different I felt quite sick and had dark thoughts since exorcism these weird thoughts have gone…I’m not mental I’m getting better..I don’t feel as messed up as I did is really lost control of myself for a while now things are different mentally there is a difference within me..there is just no way of be like the way I was years ago I was not well but I’ve proved that exorcism works…I hope the exorcism continues because it’s working for me…also my husband Jack really had been of great comfort and support to me…I have to say I’m back to my usual self almost…my judgement isn’t clouded anymore I see clearer mentally visually I’m blind but mentally I’m sharper and clearer…exorcism really does work…everyone should try it society could be a very different place if all our minds were healthy…exorcism could be the to many of society’s problems…you know if we had the medicine of exorcism available for everyone we could be living in a far better world..it might be that be up until now society might be getting it all wrong…we are not governed by politics we are governed by MiNDSET….make exorcism a basic human right…I guarantee people that get exercised might not experience illness or bad mental health..we might through the power of exorcism change history….Thank You for reading my post I hope it helps many people
I think anyone can benefit from watching this video. I especially loved your thought experiment to identify what holds value to you, I have had trouble connecting with things that are meaningful to me but using your experiment I can make a quick list and start to build around those things:D Thankyou.

Nostalgia and looking back has been proven to NOT help your current state of mind. Forget looking back BE in the MOMENT. The past is an illusion. Move on. Be here. Now.
Health and wellness, both physical and mental, are life-long journeys with many winding roads. If we can help any of you in any way, please let us know.
I’ve been having a hard time with the pandemic, social injustices and a manipulative ex-boyfriend. I definitely need an emotional detox about now. It’s a blessing I have a strong spiritual foundation because I would have had a major breakdown without it.
What a great reminder!!! I always feel so much better when I move…..but I did not actively connect the dots. Now I am gonna move every day and keep track on a list to really do this. Because I know it makes me happier. Great talk!
MUSIC! Find various music that moves you, some that access sadness, some happiness, some motivation, some inspiration, make playlists for your felt need. I tell clients, there are interests that help, but maybe it remains untapped, unexplored and needs “beefing up”. I love music, try playing something! try a new genre, explore the history of a song, go to LVIE MMUSIC venues. Watch documentaries on bands or artists who inspire or connect with you! If exercise, ya you do a bit, but have you joined a club? a race? a online community? Go on vacation and do a new sport! See? sometimes we just listen to radio, if we feel like it, or occasionally go for a walk.
Positive activity, positive interaction with people and positive thinking are the three things than underpin good mental health. My channel has many meditation videos to help clam the mind, reduce anxiety etc.
Ive been working from home and would be in front of my laptop from 12 to 16 hrs a day. I started to question my existence. Im so glad to come across this today
When you live in rich country theirs more mental health prpblem when when I used to live in poor country. Rich country have more time to winder around do nothing, when you grow up poor you work two jobs and always busy
As an aspiring Mental Health PT, I agree to this. We advocate physical activity not just for rehabilitating physical disabilities and improving physical health, but also for transforming the whole person. We believe that the mental health and overall well-being of a person can be improved through physical movement.:)
1. You have repressed fear. 2. Your brain has damaged neurons. 3. You have an addiction. 4. You didn’t study enough. 5. You lost everything. 6. You’re sensing things that aren’t there. 7. You had a nervous breakdown from high profile information or work strain. 8. There are strange supernatural elements in your life. What the root-cause is or reasons are not important. Now usually some kind of self-preservation kicks in, a basic logic. That’s what people are trying to communicate with you. There is no such thing as bullying that does anything. But the logic is NEVER THERE. The reasons don’t matter. You are posing a lifetime of frustrating issues to people’s lives. You have to pull yourself out if the hole and become self-sufficient. What do you do?
Excercise for me is really hard. I can’t work out in front of others, and I can’t stand working out at home. I guess I could start with something small and work my way up though.
Love this, love all videos so far! I think acceptance is the master key. Acceptance put us in observer mode and not only recognize a feeling, emotional or thought but enjoy it and release it could take seconds, minutes or days but you’ll have a full experience and this is freedom!
My movement is biking. I love gliding, moving along a road, seeing people. I like swimming, I like dancing, I like lifting. I get anxiety when I can’t take care of myself. I will keep moving to keep healthy and cheerful.
I’m suffering from Schizoid Personality Disorder and one of the most painful symptoms is anhedonia, which is the difficulty to feel pleasure. I don’t have a lot of friends and I don’t really want to bother friends and family with my problems so what I was usually doing was overthinking. I eventually got to a point when I felt like I was surviving, but I wasn’t actually living a life. I started to try to fix my problems and manage my mental health, but getting helped by others was really painful and difficult because of SPD. I started doing some sport, not because I thought it would’ve helped me, but it actually did. Right now, I’m very busy, I have a lot of work and when I have spare time I train. When I’m busy and when I do sport I can really feel better, so this has really helped me a lot and watching this video and hearing those stories gives me a lot of hope.
I can’t really say I’m OK now, doing sport feels like a temporary solution and my relationship problems don’t have a solution and I don’t really know what to do about that… but at least in bad moments I know how I can climb up the hole of depression.
i wrote about are you the rule to the exception for my son in that letter i asked him how far are you willing to go i said don’t show fear it will get you vision killed go as far as you need to go and don’t quite if you are that rule
1. Make over your room 2. Hydrate like a boss 3. Watch the sun set 4. Doodle or journey 5. Revisit your favorite childhood memory 6. Tell someone your sorry 7. Help those who are less fortune
here because of the BuzzFeed video on you reviewing mental illness in movies. how i wish i can put all your videos up on display at work (i have a ridiculously demanding job that is so draining and dehumanizing). anyway Dr Matu you got yourself a new subscriber and gonna follow you on twitter too:)
I have been inpatient probably 20-30 times sinse i was 11 years old. A lot of the coping skills are the same, new treatments such as DBT and such do come out. My favorite Mental health tip is having a support system even though i believe it is the hardest to maintain for a long time. In this day and age i enjoy connecting to groups such as your you tube channel and vloging on my own to try to build a community where people can talk and help each other out even if its in a comments section.
MENTAL ILLNESS I’m Kamara Mikel and I just wrote a book, “Kept my enemy closer”, the true story of my 14-year battle with depression. We all need to tell our story. We never know when they will need to hear that we are still functioning and coping with mental health issues. @t
I’m sorry for being born world, to only take up space and contribute nothing. I’m sorry, Dad for I’m being a failure to get a good job with good paid I’m sorry, mom for me to being a lazy piece of shit while I was young I’m sorry, Grandma for not noticing your pain when I left home to work oversea. I’m sorry, my elder brother for not being on your side when you needed help I’m sorry, boss for I’m a forgetful person and a disappointment I’m sorry, my friends for I’m always overly sensitive and rejecting invitations. I have a thousand more apologies to make and I hope someone hears this.
When I feel anxiety and not talk to people, they say I am selfish and I just care about my emotions. This breaks my heart. I have always been good and available in other’s need. But people don’t allow me to take a break and don’t let me help in my anxiety. Please help me, I am tired…
So i m in a relationship nd i was going through a negative thought which is quite illogical but still i can’t a way to get out of it. Idk what should i do, but i m trying my best to overcome this.
Theres more to healing mental health than just movement over the long haul. Yes, this movement is very important but In time you’ll realize Its a holistic awareness and effort. Another important factor is correct EATING lifestyle (start with an elimination protocol use animal food items the add back veggies that work with body. Depression is exacerbated with carb addiction) EMOTIONALLY: Then theres getting away from toxic work place, family or ANY relationship that causes stress. Then theres self talk and how you talk about yourself or feel about yourself. SPIRITUALLY: Being honest and trustworthy. Its stressful on your body to lie, chest or steal. All these have to come together to truly heal over your evolution in life. Finding true balanced self love within you and then with others is the way to healing.
I just wanted to say I am thankful for your channel.
I have parents who are controlling, never apologise, never observe personal space, unempathetic and regularly claim they are perfect beings and infallible. They are super religious and state that they have risen to sainthood.
It wreaked havoc on my mental health as I was growing up and broke my self esteem which took me a year and a half living away from them abroad in another country to partially repair. But these mental scars never go away, not especially when the psychological injury was sustained repeatedly throughout my childhood.
But I reckon because of the stuff I went through, I have begun to understand what kindness truly is and to develop my empathy side. In addition I realise the importance of emotional awakening, emotional maturity and development of my emotional intelligence. Furthermore I have developed the insight to not let my past affect my future.
Everytime I feel down, I know I have your videos to watch. They have been inspirational and let me know I’m not alone.
I’m from Canada. The most schooling I’d be willing to do is up to a master’s in psychology. Do you think I could still be successful as a clinical psychologist, how much more successful would a psy.d or PhD make you.
P.S would you recommend a bachelor of arts or science in psychology
My Mental health Therapist comes to my house for our sessions I’m agoraphobic and have many issues dating back to growing up leaving home at 15 due to abuse and things just got worse Life is a struggle at 72yrs old now I still struggle But my therapist Laura has shown me how to cope with many of my issues I could go on and on but then i would be writing my own book about life Good luck to all don’t give up Don’t like your therapist keep looking for a new one Who understands you And can learn from you
I have Mental iisues and it sometimes scares me. I have also been in a mental Hospital That was even more scarier. You see all kinds of Mental Hospital patients and what they go through.I am so glad to hear you on my iPad today. It gave me more ideas of what I can do to help me and may have an impack on someone that is willing to be helped.. I wasn’t willing or was scared to get it when it was right there in frontofme.
I make sure I take time out each day for myself to decompress & have some quiet time. Find this really helps to bring me back ‘online’ with myself and helps relieve the stress of the day.
Ugh, I’m afraid that I will die some day, and apparently, 100% of people born more than 120 years ago have died, so I guess my fear is very justified… This video isn’t helping me, lol.
Because of this video, I thought that things would be less stressful than I expected, and that changed what I expected, which made things way more stressful than I expected…
Hello. Gardening and sunshine helps me feel good. My grandchildren keep me smiling. Prayer is most important. It keeps me close to God. And reading the Bible is the best. For me. Please be well.

I think Leon Taylor has a very easy solution to mental health issues, maybe a little simplistic but I think he made a very strong point. When your overthinking and you spend to much time on your own thoughts, it mostly results in negative thoughts and emotions. When you do this on the long term depression and anxiety are getting really close. I also thinks that not only movement and exercise made the difference but meditation and biological/ healthy food can also reduce stress. When your playing professional sport and your train six times a week it is really hard to enjoy every training session because the only thing that seems important is getting better and perform, but the truth is that’s really hard to get better and perform if your not enjoying your sport. So enjoying your sport or exercise is so important otherwise it would increase your stress and negative thoughts. That is why you should always pick a sport which you enjoy and not for any other reason. For example the fitness/bodybuilding hype is very unhealthy, people are not especially joining the sport because they like it. No they are looking for improvement and the are never satisfied because 9 out of 10 times they don’t get the body that they want and this only cause frustration and stress. So in my opinion I believes you should eat healthy and pick a sport which you really enjoy and not for any other reason. Of course the sport or exercise should challenge you but it must challenge you in a healthy way, so your mind can also be challenge in a healthy way.
Go to the gym. That is all. Its just you and the weights, they dont judge you, they never lie, they are always there for you and they makes you a better person. good luck!
1. Put yourself in the shoes of others before acting out of emotion. 2. Nothing is more important than your mental well-being, take time for yourself and do something that brings happiness to you. 3. Instead of relying on old information that you learned as lets say as a kid, go out and re-learn things that you are loyal too. Religion, Politics, Hobbies, even random facts, because you will be surprised to find out a lot of information embedded in your brain from an early age is either out-dated by modern society standards, or has been proven to be true or not.
I discovered fixed gear bikes at 50, and this got me back into cycling after a 20 year gap. It takes about 2 weeks to learn to ride but they are addictive! Movement: pedalling continuously puts you in contact with the bike, and they are more of a challenge.
These are all so important. I’m trying to get my anxiety down because I ran out of refills and its so high that I can’t seem to calm down. I’ve been feeling like I’m in a dream, like nothings real and I’m so lightheaded and anxious AF. I just want to stay inside and wait until I can get to my doctor again. So shaky too. I hate this. The only thing that’s gotten me to somewhat calm down is I learned how to finger knit. I had some chunky loopy yarn and made a scarf. That only worked for like an hour though. Then I ran out of yarn. So my favorite tip is find something you can give all your focus to. Even if its just an hour. It still helps.
Favorite mental health tip: find a hobby. I did and it’s really helped me connect with others. Which helped my sense of loneliness. Thanks for this video it was really super awesome.
What do you if the only person u have has been pushed away but to fix it they want u to do things that u no will damage u mentally n emotionally even more and mental n emotional stress along wit financials are the main reason we struggle so in doing so to make them happy ull struggle even more iternaly
My favourite mental health tip is that life isn’t always happy. Don’t expect it to be, so don’t chase fleeting happiness, rather find things that are meaningful to you and chase those instead.
Really great tips! Getting regular sleep and exercise and meditation has been the most beneficial to me. Useful habits help breed automatic stress-reducing behaviors I think.
I’m not doing this as a joke, please help me
As per psychological studies it takes around 21 to 30 days to create new or change existing habits. With that idea, I created a simple “30 days challenge” free android app which helps you do just that.
It has various challenges like social media detox, mental wellness, gratitude, etc. each containing interesting task which gets unlocked day by day for 30 days. It also reminds you every day with a beautiful inspirational msg so u don’t miss your task. Honestly, it works only if it’s done diligently without missing a single day for 30 days. Give it a try and see yourself getting healthier and happier everyday.

I’ve been totally flooded with my emotions lately and no one to go to thank you so much for making this video. It helps a lot with my current situations.
Please cut the music, I am a highly-sensitive person and it absolutely makes me nervous and heavily distracts me from the information. I think I cannot even finish it.
Great Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about Tanichael Nonpareil Transcendence (google it)? It is a great exclusive product for unlock the real Ho’oponopono techniques to lead your best life minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend Sam finally got excellent success with it.

There’s one too many bad people who never apologize or don’t mean their apology so fuck that as for me I’m not like them there’s nothing to apologize for but to let them go as to not interfere with my life other than that there is karma…
Omg I recently began watching avatar the last air bender and the NOSTALGIA helps my anxiety and mood. It also has great life lessons
Excellent video. Well done. Helped me a lot. I’m very interested in Buddhism which seems to have a lot of similarities to the advice on psch2go
March 2020: Your room will be where you sleep, work and unwind. Good luck making that a safe space and not a space in which to get cabin fever.
1give your room a makeover
2keep yourself hydrated
3watch the sunset “be present”
4journal
5revisit your favorite childhood memories
6tell someone you’re sorry
7help those who are less fortunate
I love how important sleep is for your mental and physical help. but how the heck are you supposed to sleep with kids who refuse to do it?! I would LOVE to get enough sleep! But, I mean, kids….
Can you make a video about victim mentality? As in if one has it and are unaware or if they feel they are and don’t know how to get rid of it?
This chanel is amazing! Ifeel so blessed that I can watch those videos Thank you for your help! Our world needs more emotional and menthal support
It’s day 3 of me just got out of a breakup…..im trying my best to move on and do something nice for myself but it’s hard…it still hurts…..I don’t want the pain to stay….that’s why even tho it hurts I keep moving forward……
It hurts alot…..
I don’t want to feel like this anymore…..
Show Us WellBeing In This Moment
What does its energy look like?
What does it feel like?
( Perpetually Expanding Goodness, Growing, Within, From The Center Out, Like The Sun, From Within The Body, like a sloooow…..deep breath growing towards its complete & satisfied fullness, )
Such is the feeling of wellbeing.

My favourite mental health tips are:
spending time with loved ones
embracing a passion (fantasy for me:D)
healthy lifestyle without being overly restrictive (physical activity, lots of vegetables and fruits)

Ever since this pandemic, I’ve become more stressed than I used to. I used to walk in the park every evening and that helped me a lot.
Dismantle the DSM-Psychiatrist Bible-
-FDA-AMA-Psychiatrists etc. are Glorified Drug Dealers for Big-Pharma-FDA legally prescribed antianxiety//antidepressants//antipsychotics etc. causes suicidal/homicidal tendencies and ideation by Dr.Ann Blake Tracy-LSD/PCP//Antidepressants Link by Dr.Ann Blake Tracy-Hmmmmm…I wonder if by displacing our emotions, or mental needs into other things will actually supply that primary need, would heal that deficiency.
I especially loved your thought experiment to identify what holds value to you, I have had trouble connecting with things that are meaningful to me but using your experiment I can make a quick list and start to build around those things:D
Thankyou.

Nostalgia and looking back has been proven to NOT help your current state of mind. Forget looking back BE in the MOMENT. The past is an illusion. Move on. Be here. Now.
Am doing Psychology Honours, Specializing with Community and Health….. # you have some aspects that I want to achieve

How can you do anything on this list if you have severe depression and anxiety I do and some of these things are very difficult for me to accomplish
Where are there extreme emotions in a person..like im all good & next day im drowning! How do we pull someone out of extreme lows?
Today mental health is something that is a major concern.
So for getting over it please visit our page BeEmptyCup to overcome your issues.
i wrote about are you the rule to the exception for my son in that letter i asked him how far are you willing to go i said don’t show fear it will get you vision killed go as far as you need to go and don’t quite if you are that rule
1. Make over your room
2. Hydrate like a boss
3. Watch the sun set
4. Doodle or journey
5. Revisit your favorite childhood memory
6. Tell someone your sorry
I’m sorry, Dad for I’m being a failure to get a good job with good paid
I’m sorry, mom for me to being a lazy piece of shit while I was young
I’m sorry, Grandma for not noticing your pain when I left home to work oversea.
I’m sorry, my elder brother for not being on your side when you needed help
I’m sorry, boss for I’m a forgetful person and a disappointment
I’m sorry, my friends for I’m always overly sensitive and rejecting invitations.
Before being generous to others, I’ll wait a bit until they start being more generous to me for once I’m not a give away mill:P
Depression is exacerbated with carb addiction)
EMOTIONALLY: Then theres getting away from toxic work place, family or ANY relationship that causes stress.
So thank you!
I’m from Canada. The most schooling I’d be willing to do is up to a master’s in psychology. Do you think I could still be successful as a clinical psychologist, how much more successful would a psy.d or PhD make you.
P.S would you recommend a bachelor of arts or science in psychology
My Mental health Therapist comes to my house for our sessions I’m agoraphobic and have many issues dating back to growing up leaving home at 15 due to abuse and things just got worse Life is a struggle at 72yrs old now I still struggle But my therapist Laura has shown me how to cope with many of my issues I could go on and on but then i would be writing my own book about life Good luck to all don’t give up Don’t like your therapist keep looking for a new one Who understands you And can learn from you
I do my breathing exercises. I take my dogs outside to my backyard and we just play and settle down and watch nature out in the woods behind my home.

Of course, physical activity matters but so does the way you talk to yourself, your environment, and the things that you give your attention to.

Making money is one of the top ways that helps me. Unfortunately I’ve been forced into a position that has left me completely broke for 8 months now.

I’ve been feeling like I’m in a dream, like nothings real and I’m so lightheaded and anxious AF. I just want to stay inside and wait until I can get to my doctor again. So shaky too. I hate this.
