  • I bloat from the minute i drink anything. I also have IBS, so adding all of this fibre and acid from the lemon water causes an eruption inside my stomach so it’s not recommended for me.   • It’s a choice like anything, especially when it comes to attitude and priorities. As an older petite woman, it’s definitely challenging but I focus on healthy eating i.e. mostly veggies and chicken or fish, very little dairy. No flour or sugar because it made me sluggish and bloated. It’s hard but worth it when you wake up with energy. A defeatist attitude will absolutely drain you. I do weights at home daily for 20 minutes and walk after dinner which ends by 6 PM. Find what works for you but don’t give up. My dad died from dementia and heart disease and my genetics are bad but that is not a guarantee I will have the same ending if I do my best for my own health. Menopause can be a minor inconvenience if you make an effort to take care of your mind and body.

  • It actually works on me! I tried this method together with the japanese towel method, I lost 1cm on my waist and lost almost 1 kg in 4 days!

    I’m doing 6 hours eating window intermitten fasting with 1100-1300 calories intake. I don’t really eat clean since I still eat fried food for lunch. But for breakfast and post-workout I do eat cleanly! Drink min. 2L of water, eat vegetables, eat fruits (like berries, avocado, citrus fruits, kiwi, apple, etc).

  • Great info! I just turned 46 last month and my metabolism is finally slowing down. This provoked a lot of frustration so I began to do a good bit of research and while everything you are saying sounds great, I have heard the opposite about doing HIIT. The reasoning behind this is that it increases you’re cortisol. I spent the entire summer trying to get rid of the stubborn 10 pounds I had put on my midsection over winter and once I finally accepted this theory it seemed to help! I now just keep a cardio pace that is comfortable and does not cause too much exertion. This took a very long time for me to finally embrace and adapt to as this is not how is not how I typically trained in the past but it really helped me!:)

  • I have issuse with belly, hormones, etc etc. Gain so much weight. But im tall. If im short im gonna be big balloon ��. My yoga teacher told me that im defense of something but we gonna talk about that this morning. I think that is the point: but don’t blame me for this.   • First of all, you can not spot train fat loss. Nothing can replace a healthy lifestyle and exercise. That is why you don’t see a 300lb person with abs. Use common sense people. You can strengthen your ab muscles this way but won’t see them until you change your diet. Abs are made in the kitchen. You are welcome!

  • I think also genetics plays a role in how and where we gain weight. My Grandpa and my dad gained weight in the belly and I do too. So having that genetically gives me a double whammy when it comes to weight gain in the belly, plus I had a hysterectomy at age 54.

  • #1. Get HRT. Why are women Fearing the very hormones that help their body their whole life? Estrogen protects your heart. Testosterone gives you energy and muscle mass. And Progesterone keeps uterine wall thin and other balance. My life was a wreck till helped my poor body starved of hormones. I am also a vegan. And I avoid processed sugar. That is WHY I don’t have a thick middle. And I exercise. But without hormones I would not be able to get rid of “meno belly”. Well smart lipo would for sure but that is very expensive.     Day 2: It’s pretty good. All’s well. Hope I maintain this consistency.

    Day 3: the workouts seemed pretty easy. Was less exhausted than I used to be.

    Day 4: kinda exhausted. Sweating a lot. It was a bit more easier. Though felt a little demotivated.

    Day 5: exhausted. But liked it.
    Day 6: seemed easy. It’s going good.

    Day 7: Not at all exhausted. The workout felt nothing.

    Day 8: surprised that it’s completed so early. Pretty easy. I think I need to increase the reps.

    Day 9: couldn’t do it because of some other work.

    Day 10: felt the same. Not exhausted much. I think i need to increase everything twice.

    Day 11: Little exhausted. Going good.

    Day 12: same as day 11.

    Day 13: not exhausted. Sweating a bit. I think this is kinda working.

  • As a professional singer and ex-body sculptor, I can see exactly where you’re coming from with this basic exercise/maneuver. It’s similar to me telling some of my vocal students, “Now, inhale deeply….and then slowly exhale ALL of the air from your lungs….. BUT!….imagine there’s a cinder block or bowling ball sitting on your diaphragm, WHILE you’re exhaling. PUSH against that weight on your ‘tummy’, while you exhale!” yeah! I get it!   • Hey everyone! I’d like to suggest something to this list. I was a real sufferer of bloating for many many years. When I moved overseas, my GI doctor suggested I take a digestive enzyme after eating to help breakdown my food more efficiently as well as help my gut absorb healthy nutrients. You’ll see an improvement within days. It helps eliminate and manage bloat. Sometimes the issue we have is that we DON’T have enough of the enzymes needed to process food in our gut, so we end up bloated.

Explanation is: “Long breath” is a breathing method that repeats “strong and long breathing”. The impetus (to develop this method) was the exacerbation of back pain that had plagued me (Miki) for many years. For lower back pain, it is said that it is effective to train the lower waist and back muscles. However, you cannot do intense muscle training that places a burden on your lower back. When I was thinking about other approaches, I remembered how to use breathing for rehabilitate from earlier experiences. Ryosuke Miki teaches this with two sets a day for two minutes each.

    In the video he says, stand straight slightly leaning back with 90% of your weight on the back leg. Breath in 3 seconds, and out for 7 seconds. During the last 3 seconds of exhaling, push your air out fully. Is states that the most important point is to completely use your inner muscles (when exhaling), putting power into all parts of your body.

    To be fair, in other videos the former actor, Ryosuke Miki method is being touted as great for weight loss

Charcoal strips the body from bad bacteria and good bacteria that your body needs for the digestion process. You can put probiotics in your supplement routine but it wont make up for what is lost. I have ibs and charcoal made it worse.

  • I have hypermobile issues and a very unstable neck due to the way my shoulders sit. Any sort of crunch is bad for me and leaves me in debilitating pain and migraines. If anyone has this same issue, a great alternative and even better workout for abs is an earthquake. Use a Pilates ball (also known as a bender ball) under the sacrum for support and lean back slightly with an open chest and flat back. You can add all sorts of exercises onto this or just do this alone.
    Side note: the Pilates ball or bender ball is a small inflatable ball that is not to be inflated fully. It’s supposed to have a bit of squish in it. These are great for many things but a key asset when trying to build abdominals that are weak without turning on the back muscles or girdle area in the lower back.

I train 6 times a week running from 3 to 7 miles on my running machine, planking, and on my cross trainor, and love my weights.   • Just saying bloating is completely normal. It’s just how your body digests food and if someone doesn’t ever bloat it’s because they’re not eating enough. However if it’s bloating as in it’s really uncomfortable/painful then that’s not normal

    I’m having problems shifting belly fat and also I am big busted which I have detested throughout my life. I am more of a physical person I love the treadmill or jogging but due to my back problems that’s is a no no.

    The only way you’ll “look better” from this is from tightening your abs.

  • My dr gave me estrogen and progesterone prescriptions and for the past yeart I’ve been taking both for menopause but I keep gaining belly fat. Should I stop the progesterone pills and see if just the added estrogen helps?
