5 Effective Tips For Better Napping. WATCH THE CLOCK. Avoid napping too late in the day because it could interfere with your ability to fall asleep at night. The desire to doze off CREATE THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT. BLOCK OUT DISTRACTIONS.

SET YOUR ALARM. DON’T HIT SNOOZE. Avoid napping too late in the day because it could interfere with your ability to fall asleep at night. The desire to doze off will likely hit around seven hours after you wake up, notes sleep specialist Michael Breus, PhD, founder of TheSleepDoctor.com.

That means you’ll be ready for a nap around 2 p.m. if your alarm went off at 7 a.m. For the perfect nap, you want to find a dark, quiet place to lie down. If necessary, use an eye mask, ear plugs or white noise to help tune out disruptions. 9. Order up a nappuccino. A “caffeine nap”, or a quick cup of something caffeinated followed by a nap, outperforms either a nap or caffeine independently.

To get the most out of a power snooze, follow these quick tips from Mednick: Be consistent. Keep a regular nap schedule. Prime napping time falls in the middle of the day, between 1.

5 Tips for Napping Your Way to Success. When people nap only 10 minutes, they score better on cognitive tests. As you lengthen the nap time, those scores go down. When you get beyond 30. 5. Preempt a night-shift.

Anyone who works hours other than the traditional 9-to-5 can reap benefits from napping, too. A study of night-workers found that while an evening snooze plus caffeine was the best way to stay awake, a nap alone also improved alertness — especially helpful for those who don’t like to rely on caffeine to stay awake. If you’re going to nap at work, Breus advises bringing a “napping kit” with an eye mask, ear plugs, and a mini alarm clock to improve your chances of falling asleep. Napping after 3 p.m. can interfere with nighttime sleep. Individual factors, such as your need for sleep, your sleeping schedule, your age and your medication use, also can play a role in determining the best time of day to nap.

Create a restful environment. Nap in a quiet, dark place with a comfortable room temperature and few distractions. A handful of steps that you can take during the day can pave the way for better sleep at night.

See the Light of Day: Our internal clocks 8 are regulated by light exposure. Sunlight has the strongest effect 9, so try to take in daylight by getting outside or opening up windows or. If you choose to nap, limit yourself to up to 30 minutes and avoid doing so late in the day. If you work nights, however, you might need to nap late in the day before work to help make up your sleep debt. 5. Include physical activity in your daily routine.

Regular physical activity can promote better sleep.

  • I have a person that I live and care for in my family well I care for everybody and love people who are in my fam but anyways I have a person that I love who fall asleep as soon as she gets in bed and that person is my mom lol

  • Who else watching this vid but when you look in comments you will laugh

Me watching this in 12:12 am WTH JUTS SLEEP I WANNAA SLEEP I NEED TO KICK MY BED TO MAKE ME SLEEP I HATE THE STUPID VIRUS IT WONT LET ME SLEEP:(
Ok here is the tip 100:Make yourslef cry so you can sleep:)

  • Great video!
I also found this meditation last night. I did it before going to bed and had a GREAT night of sleep. Y’all can try it too
    @

  • Nahhh its our first time to have baby, me and my wife have barely slept this past 2 weeks. We would be lucky enough we get 2 hours of sleep.

  • I can’t fall asleep bc it’s summer and is is sooo hot in my room and my dad won’t turn the AC on -_-

Edit: Also is 6am and I haven’t slept yet

  • I totally agree with the fact that if we can make the baby sleep, the parents also can take enough rest and then they can do each and every thing happily…and lovingly for the baby and for others too…

  • Doctors got me hooked on Xanax….
I took as prescribed….Now I can barely sleep… not even for one hour most nights….Xanax ruined my brain… what should I do.???

  • Been having trouble sleeping especially for the past 3 and a half years mostly because at times I still get angry or upset about things that have unfairly happned to me in my life. It comes and goes but last few weeks some frustration has come back and has unsettled me allot. Want to avoid sleeping tablets. Will try the electronics advice thank you.

  • Exactly because. My one month old baby wakes up as soon as we switch of the desert cooler my baby sleeps better in the constant sound of exaust fanof desert cooler

  • I watched this video so I can get up in 4 hours for dance practise but them huge spider crawled under my bed and I think I don’t wanna sleep rn

  • For those of you who are coming down here to comment about the temperature units (I forgot to add an annotation), here you go:

    60°-67° Fahrenheit would be 288.706 292.594 Kelvin.

    Hope that clears things up!

  • Im 25 hours awake now wtf?
This is the worst ive been my insomniac life.
I feel so suddenly energetic when i lie in bed at 10 pm till morning

  • The temperature range advice is useful. Everything else was rather obvious,
or doesn’t pertain to people who actually have sleep/anxiety issues.

  • It’s not hard to put a baby to sleep. If it’s full, changed and not in pain then sleep will naturally follow. Don’t need a man to tell us that.

  • cold showers an hour or two before sleep help too. Also certain styles of yoga like hatha help a lot too. Shut the internet off in the phone and keep it outside of the bedroom.

  • There’s a company that mixes all useful herbs for sleep into one. My mom uses it and she really loves it. I don’t know all the details but you can find it at organicsleep.best

  • It’s like my brain tries to physically make me uncomfortable/ill when laying in bed trying to sleep at night. I just can’t get my head to stop feeling like brrrrrrrr

  • Thanks so much for this common sense approach. Will follow your advice and see if my insomnia improves. Yes, on my smartphone now at 01.41 am… the 1st bad habit to break. Will only use smartphone before 6 pm. Eat earlier 7 pm. Set clock to get up etc. Lockdown covid blues!!

  • I need help!! My newborn hates everything mentioned here…

Swaddling: She will do everything to break free no matter how tired she gets.
Swinging: doesn’t matter how I swing her she doesn’t calm down.
Pacifier: She will suck it and goes to ‘sleep’, but she will spit it out and wakes up.

Only way to get her to sleep is when she’s awake for very long. In total my baby sleeps around 13 hours a day, my pediatrician said that she’s over-stimulated but there’s nothing we can do that will make her sleep more.

  • Hello doctor..my baby is 7 days old and he cries a lot because he feels too hungry and I feed him 40ml milk through feeding bottle but he still cries and ask for more. Can you please suggest how I can calm him with tht much amount of milk, also he is asleep most of the time during day and wakes up at around 3-4am and doesn’t sleep than which really disturb our sleep.

  • There’s a company in the USA and Canada that provides all natural sleep formula. My friend uses them and it has helped him a lot. I have just started using it. Its been 3 weeks and I can feel the difference. For people messaging me, it is from organicsleep.best and I’m in the USA. Hope that helps.

  • My friend’s dad recommended me naturekindness .com This has completely changed my life. My sleep cycle has improved so much and I feel energetic when I wake up.

  • Going to bed is my reflection time. I usually use that time to try to solve any problems I have, make some plans for the upcoming days and it generally becomes pretty stressful. But I don’t have time to do any of that during the day so it’s become an automatic process now.

  • bruh here i am at 3:40 trying to sleep and searching for something that makes me sleep in 4 seconds and i said dont think 100 times and my last braincell be like:a I LIKE YOUR SKETCHERS

  • So caffeine can keep you awake? Jesus!! And there is a 2013 study that proves that it is bad to drink lots of coffee before bed? Why am I only hearing this now? Amazing stuff Thomas. Please do a video about fire safety… there’s a rumor going round that it burns. Is that true?

  • Alright I’m out of sleeping pills, guess I’l keep watching these advices then end up doing a few of them and still can’t sleep properly.

  • I don’t have kids. I’m single. Why am I watching this You know what, I’ve always been good with babies. This adds to my repertoire. Silver lining!

  • So just tell me if this is accurate to you…

Go to bed at around 9-11 pm
Try to sleep and think of song lyrics, shows, and anything else to get your mind off sleep, get distracted, open your eyes, check the Time

    11:51

Starts getting more anxious, tries to slow breathing, calms down
,Lays with eyes closed for you don’t know how long

    Check time: 1:25

Ok, ok you are ok you got this

    Tries again

    3 am

    I can’t take it anymore!
    Takes Benadryl
Half hour later after struggling falls asleep…

Wakes up groggy later in the day

Time to go to bed on time!

    Gets full nights rest

    Next night

Goes to bed at 10pm try to think of anything else…but sleep

  • Mom told me to use organicsleep.best and its the best thing my mom recommended. She’s always into natural herbs and always reading about it. My sleep has improved so much. Take care and sleep well.

  • My friend’s dad recommended me naturekindness .com This has completely changed my life. My sleep cycle has improved so much and I feel energetic when I wake up.

  • how about, you easily fall asleep, but when the time you wake up at anytime, i find it hard to sleep again that’s why i got 4-6 hours sleep.

  • I used to stay up till 10 am and then either finally go to sleep or stay up the whole day. Now I’m on a strict rule that I have to go to sleep at a certain time but it’s now 3 hours past that time…

  • Watching at 5:48 my sleep was great but I’ve been neglecting my wake up time and my physical fitness. It’s tough getting back into a rhythm when insomnia hits.

  • Without even watching I’m 100% sure this video will say hack BS that doesn’t work like no blue light or food or smoking X hours before bed, make a set schedule for sleeping, blah blah… I can absolutely guarantee none of it works, and I’m about to lose my fucking mind cuz nothing works and lack of sleep is ruining my life in every way.

  • When Im about to sleep, I close my eyes and think about all of the dumb and bad things I did in my life. This causes me to not get any sleep and it happens frequently.

  • I try sleeping early, like 23:00 and then I cant sleep and I see its 3 and I start to panick and nearly have a heart attack lmao. Fak me

  • My son haaaated swaddling, always, since the first day he was born. I tried it soooo many times.
He hated a pacifier, hated bottles.
He hated laying on his side, hated white noise.
I used to have to lay him on my arm, on his tummy, right against me. Hahahaha.
I feel like my son is not like the babies that love those techniques. I tried so many
So glad he is 3 now and sleeps on his own.

  • Namaste

As per ancient Indian belief and practise, one must go to sleep early and get up 1.5 hours before sunrise.

The time before sunrise called Brahma muhurta is good for all activities like study, meditation etc. which are positive in nature.

    Thanks.

  • This is BS when it comes to real insomnia. Had it since I was born and remember it continuously since the age of 3 (yes I do remember being 3) Had insomnia long before silly expressions like ‘sleep hygiene’ are banded about as a catch all phrase to throw at patients (cause you will catch them out with one or another of the things involved) Had insomnia before we even had a TV and decades before personal pc’s, iphones and laptops, when reading was the only pre bedtime pastime from 7pm on, when eating plain boring food was done at 5pm, years before I tasted anything with caffeine in it. Still have insomnia today and am over the age of 60. Doctors and anyone else for that matter tend to get angry when you present them with this stuff on account of it being an affront to their knowledge and lack of answers so they then throw the ‘sleep hygiene’ routine at you with a big dose of contempt. Also I have exercised early in the day for 3 decades now, dont eat heavy nor late and minimal caffeine. Have done Hypnotherapy, psychology, put my name down for a sleep clinic but waited two years and they canceled the appointment and sent me a printed sheet spelling out their usual routine for patients which turned out to be nothing other than sleep deprivation techniques which in fact made it worse, eg if stay up after 1am I will then stay awake all night and most of the next night. Some of us are stuck with it for life, a miserable one at that.

  • From experience.. It’s great for a quick fix but over time they become dependant on it.. So root cause of the problem first, then try this.. Just my experience… Doctor’s use this to calm quick to examine.. Our second child we are noisey as hell.. We dont so the shooshing thing anymore.. We just put on a sound machine to keep from passing out from doing the sound lol

  • All ive ever needed is a fan. (All year round) obviously not pointing it at them unless its hot enough night to warrant it. My daughter has slept beautifully with it for 3.5 years now. Barely a peep out of her over all that time.

  • If one would follow these tips, definitely get good sleep. However, I am watching this video at 3 a.m. I will practice these tips from tomorrow. Please..pray for me bcoz I got panic at night due to lack of sleep.

  • Warm milk? This video same as all the other ones touting sleep hygeine to treat insomnia. Doesnt help people with chronic insomnia. We need help!

  • One of the most important things you can do to get back to sleeping is “Sun Gazing” most of us aren’t getting enough sunlight. The sun has Melatonin & Serotonin, which helps w/the sleep wake cycle. Most of us are lazy & don’t do what’s necessary when we have a lot of trouble sleeping. Sometimes it boils down to good old fashion hard work!

  • I want to ask that why night sleep is necessary if a person can sleep 8 hours in afternoon or in morning or evening. Will it effect on mental Health? if a person doesn,t sleep in night due to some reason and sleep in afternoon or in morning or evening.

  • 00:21 kinda hard to not use tv and your phone before going to bed in my and many others case. I don’s use my phone or tv but my computer because that is my job. Any tips if I kinda have to use my computer all day from I wakeup til I go to bed?

  • Great advice! I have found my sleep quality, and how fast I get to sleep, has improved hugely when I use three things a sleeping mask to cover my eyes, ear buds to block sound, and a white noise machine (optional if you sleep all night with the ear buds in I don’t).

  • I have not slept for the past one month and I’m having a serious chest pains and headache l can’t think well. Please what should I do

  • Everyone keep on saying this things. I don’t do any of these but why can’t I fall in sleep faster and can’t i keep on sleep through the night. I go to bed at 10 and roughly fall to sleep about at 12:30. After that I keep waking up for the whole night.

  • Great vid thanks, but how can you back up the claim that reading a book helps fall asleep? Reading can stimulate the brain which may not help.

  • I skipped the whole vid waiting for her to stop talking and to find out how to actually fall asleep * realises that all that talking was explaining *

  • I used to wake up like clockwork at 6am no alarm for years and years and I would feel fine even if i went to bed late and for the last two years since I relocated to another city my sleep is sooo off I try and take naps during the day and I just lay there with my eyes bloodshot and burning I’m want to sleeepp!

  • Too many people forget about the effects of caffeine. I’ve seen another study that says it can stay in your blood for 8 hours…tough to cut it out that early for many people.

  • There are several factors in quitting booze including eg motivation and help from friends.
One resource I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Adoette drink plan (check it out on google) definately the most helpful plan that I have ever seen.
look at the site and great reviews.

  • Why i get this video as recommended for me….although it is super nice but why it is being recommended to me…….this blew up my mind…

  • There is this guide, a sleeping cure that in some way works. I started off going through insomnia at a young age. I’ve experimented with many treatment methods however none of them works not until finally I learned regarding this method. The reason being is Quran is comforting soul and a comforted soul, obvious for some, has direct automatic impact on relaxing the body. Try it and share your experiences whether or not it works.

  • sounds crazy but after losing my daughter, i sleept SO SO much, or mostly stayed in bed and felt so down, after awhile my top back neck pain went from tense and very annoying to, burning, so here’s the crazy part,, i purchased a lot of meth for pipe, it reset me, i stayed awake days, saving enough meth to keep awake, it gives you insight, mainly when afew days awake, but never use long term, treat the crystals right, bless them with intentions, meth worked for me as a tool, don’t use it much, but when u want to kill yourself because the emotional state has made one feel DEAD and all u can do is sleep, or lay in bed, no motivation. As a kick start for motivation to say” jump start your ass and brain loq, meth works for me any way

  • I remember when I used to watch this 9 months ago, when my baby was 1 month old……time flies so fast. Now I’ve started a channel with activities for babies

  • One thing babies do better with swaddling is sleeping soundly, but also dying in their sleep. Yes, lo and behold, babies actually seem to not benefit from not being able to move. But I mean, if you think your baby’s life is worth risking for a good night’s sleep, good on ya!

  • Every baby is different though mine hates being swaddled he really fights against it, he spits out his pacifier i rather give him my nipple, soonest as you put him down to sleep, he wakes up again he feels more relaxed sleeping on ones chest, instead of fighting him and forcing him to sleep on his own i let him do whatever makes him comfy

  • There’s a company that mixes all useful herbs for sleep into one. My mom uses it and she really loves it. I don’t know all the details but you can find it at organicsleep.best

  • When I went to Pamela Youde hospital to claim my mother’s body, I could not help shouting to let more people know Tung Wah killed my mother indirectly. As a result I found another victim of Tung Wah hospital whose mother lost one of her legs due to mistake of Tung Wah people. He also said none of those working at Tung Wah hospital are friendly, and if you dare to complain, they will drive you away!!! He and his sisters intend to apply for legal aid to sueTung Wah hospital!!! There were at least 6 or 7 security guards wearing hospital authority uniform trying to push me very hard. They were violent and called the police. When I started taking pictures, one atrocious guard immediately said tell the police to delete all the pictures!!!

Three policemen from Chaiwan police station forced me to see the doctor at Pamela Youde hospital although it was my mother’s funeral on July 30, 2018!!! I had no idea how much money they took from my wallet, I heard the consultation fee is HK$180!!! They were taking orders from the horrible bunch of so-called security guards head!!! To my shocking surprise I ended up in the mental hospital!!! The real lunatic workers were so violent my handbag strap was pulled apart right away!!! Both my hands and feet were tightly bound and my brother was not allowed to talk to me when he arrived at the hospital until he told them he had already reported to the police (when he phoned the police, they said they did not know what’s going on and suggest him to contact the police in the hospital!!!) and would tell the media I have been illegally imprisoned before they finally let him see me!!! When I asked my brother to take pictures of me, one guy immediately came into the small room to threaten I will be sued if the pictures are leaked out!!!

I was not even allowed to go to the toilet and the men and women in the the lunatic hospital were even more rough and tough than the fierce security guards!!! They intended to leave me alone in a small room and just ignored me, even could not care less I was going to miss my mother’s funeral!!! I was treated 100% like a lunatic!!! My right arm has bruise marks and both arms are painful due the violant behaviour of the security guards, the policemen and the men and women from lunatic hospital!!! This is extremely barbaric and is actually illegal imprisonment!!! Hong Kong is indeed like hell these days!!!

MY POOR MOTHER WAS INDIRECTLY MURDERED BY TUNG WAH HOSPITAL IN CAUSEWAY BAY!!! We have SPCA Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals, I strongly suggest to set up SPCH Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Against Human Beings!!!
I told 張傑樺 of Food and Hygiene Bureau 食卫局 that I would like to talk to 陈肇始 since she is a nurse herself. I think it is important she is aware there are such “nurses” in Tung Wah that kill patients!!!
I also tried calling 梁柏賢 of Hospital Authoirty 醫院管理局 at 2300 6802 but there is never anybody answering the phone!!! When asked 陈维勳 鄺月雯 黄詠岚 陈淑文 张Hui妍 黄崇伟主任 to request talking to 梁柏賢, they said they only have this tel no. 2300 6802!!!
