  • Interesting points made in this video, except, it has left some serious concerns that were not addressed.
    One concern is a Keto Diet, which is low carbs, higher in fat and protein (5% 25% 70% / respectively). A Keto diet requires low carbs/high fats to work and many claim it works to lose body fat. Yet, according to the video, low carbs lowers testosterone, where high fat intake apparently does the same. Since he claims that low testosterone in males is a hot topic, so is the Keto diet, and he never even addressed that, in light of his claims here.

    PS: he needs to learn more about Cortisol and relate more “balanced” information in this video. Referring to it as only a fight-flight hormone from caveman days is really a poor reference, because Cortisol is not just fight-flight, its has a larger purpose in the body.   • On the contrary my testosterone was 150 or lower when I was working out munching on a lot of carbs. Turned pre diabetic. Went on keto which is basically no carbs at all except green leafy veggies. 6 months later dropped to 11% body fat fro 14% and raised my testosterone to over 350 so carbs at least in my case was the enemy and too this day 2 years later still keto for life.   • You’re right about most of it. Wholesome food and good fats, but cutting carbs does not result in low testo levels. Before humans invented farming just a few thousand years ago carbs were seasonal and very scarce, so if you’re theory is right, how were they even able to reproduce with low testo levels? There are no essential carbs, but there are indeed essential fatty acids. And if you combine low carb diet with intermittent fasting then you’re inducing human growth hormone, resulting in increased testo levels!

  • I agree with how stress can affect your testosterone levels. I look back now at my previous job and it explains quite a bit since I left. It was an extremely stressful job that I really disliked for many years. I left when I was about 48 years old, within 1 year my bench went from 315 for one rep to 8 reps. My arms grew to about 19 inches, everyone was asking what i was doing, I was only in the gym 4 days a week for about 90 minutes. I really could not explain it at the time but now it makes perfect sense.
