  • I always hoped for the best, and the worst happened almost every time. Now I have GAD and PTSD. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

  • I highly disagree. In many instances emotions will cloud the judgement of people. It is best to have a balance between logic and emotion. To be able to step back from a situation and judge wether or not you are fit in that moment to make a decision.

  • ??? Why do you state “always” and “never”? It seems as if you’re trying to brainwash people. Sometimes logic wins. Sometimes emotion wins. You state these as fact. This doesn’t make sense to me at all.

  • Don’t listen to this lady, Logic and emotion are equally important in life.

When your dealing with buying property use your brain and never let the deal get to your heart. You will most likely be taken advantaged of, and will pay more then what it’s worth.

When your dealing with moral decisions such as selling and relationships think with emotion in mind. Without emotion in mind you will become hated and will been seen as a dickhead.

Logic is a power best used with emotion in mind.

  • Kyle, we gotta get you to comment in other peoples videos….not necessarily the large channels either. The way to grow your channel is to be friends with smaller ones….then you all grow together. I really enjoyed your chat, so much of what holds us back is just in our minds. Peace & out my brother, keep up the great videos

  • 12:50 but what do you do if you HAVE been fired from jobs for making simple mistakes? High pressure industry jobs have made it clear to me that there is NO room for error (yes, even human-level error.) Which has impacted my daily life and I am constantly fearful of making mistakes. When I do get a new job and make a mistake, I try not to have a full blown panic attack and tell myself “it’s okay, you’re not going to get fired for misspelling this word….” but then I do!!

  • Only a woman would say emotion is > than Logic. Ironically she used LOGIC to explain why she thinks “emtions” overules “logic”. Stupid ass woman

  • Always ask yourself when you’re having a bad day: Am I really having a bad day or did I just have a bad 5 minutes which I’ve decided to milk for an entire day.

  • Does noone realize that her examples of “emotion” are actually just logical reasoning and her examples of logic are bullshit societal norms?

  • How serious this disorder can be? Because I m going through this phase for years now. & I am going nowhere in life. Feeling depressed & totally worthlessness.

  • I’ve always been the total opposite. It might be because as a child I never had stability. So, when I meet someone I have the confidence to ask them to hang out but in the long run I have the fear of them not liking who I am anymore so I get less confident.:-/

  • I m literally taking medication of anixiety disorder, obsessive disorders and depression since 8 years. Catastropising is my brain default mode at my present life.I really really want to get out of this.I wonder can i be out of this medication ever?I genuinely feel how a feelings of having normal and healthy mind and brain feels like.

  • All of this really focuses on self catastrophizing. My catastrophizing tends to focus on things that would be very bad, that wouldn’t be easy to move on from and I don’t think can be learned from. My thoughts are things like what if someone kidnaps my baby? What if my husband dies in a car accident? When he forgets to let me know he’s at work I tend to spiral thinking he’s been in a wreck and he’s dead… those are just a few examples.

  • This video doesn’t help anyone who suffers from depression and anxiety. Sure, it’s cool to know the causes. But you won’t be healed from a video, and a video won’t make you change your life with good advice. That’s not how therapy works. A good therapist will never ever tell you what to do and what not to do. Nobody makes themselves anxious or depressed, these are mental issues they suffer from, and nobody can just snap out of them after watching a more or less insightful video.

  • I have a questions for Doctor Aziz. My question is do you work with Podiatrist Surgeon also in your field? Oh Doctor Webb can you make an interview comparing a Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgeon and Foot and Ankle Podiatric Surgeon in the near future. I know that you just graduated from your residency sir.

  • I’ve met people who are extremely logical almost to the point of being robotic. It seems absurd to make all our decisions with the mind without including our emotions. Everything is a balance but being a logical person can often disconnect you from feeling and only when we feel when we can enter our emotions. Don’t stop feeling because the day you stop feeling it’s the day you’re dead while living.

  • Thank you so much for this video, it came as recomended for me just in the right time and it made a lot of things more clear to me.

  • Thank you for explaining how to change our emotions to allow ourselves to make better decisions. When we’re able to base our actions off of logic, we can live a more satisfying life and live full out.

  • I really believe that sugar is not a treat to our health if we use it in moderation. I make a youtube channel A natural remedies tips on how to be naturally healthy. visit me on,my channel see you there guysssss. thanks

  • This is nothing new. God said “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

  • Taking alcohol and medications together is nonsense. Words written in Pali, prakrut, sanskrut, latin Swahili or english are meaningless until one gets to the essence of their meaning. What speaker found is a good technique but useful only when actually applied. Don’t forget psychotic medications are needed same as diabetics medications. With the support of medications diabetic person can become active and is then able to change to healthy lifestyle which further supports him having better life. Same way with the support of medication a psychotic person progresses to some mental health and then can attain additional support of right thinking and action for betterment. Simple long walks also help a lot. The so called sudden feeling of bliss is many a times found in bipolar disorder and it’s related to brain suddenly getting flushed with some chemicals.
Anyway psychotic medications is a must and the person should visit the psychiatrist as per schedule and give timely feedback for tuning the medications.

  • Just want to point out that emotions wins over logic, but that doesn’t mean that emotion “winning” means emotion is right and logic is wrong. They actually can’t be separated, and when they work together, you act from a balanced, present, wholistic stance. It’s the logic that helps you decide to pick a better emotion, and gives you the tools to formulate how you’re going to do it. Emotion is the then the force that puts it in motion in the world. It’s not a battle… or rather it doesn’t have to be. This battles causes us the be divided against ourselves. Logic and emotion ideally work together. As one.

  • I would win the number 1 most catastrophising person ever award. I’m always anxious, pessimistic, and can’t stop catastrophising about loads of things. It’s because of fear. I don’t know what to do. I’m 30 and I’m depressed as fuck

  • I am so grateful for these videos. It helped me change my entire life. I was an addict for 20 years and am finally clean. My son is is going thru some heartbreaking stuff. The speaker is talking about thoughts… Why is this type of content “flagged”? And, in a broader sense, why doesn’t TED want talks about Spirituality?

  • I expect the worst while still trying my best just because I rather have the feeling of losing and lose than have the feeling of winning and then lose. and the feeling of losing and than win is safer feeling imo

  • If you focus on the now and you still think you have problems then obviously you are not focused in the now. You are merely thinking about being in the now. It is like people who say I am consciously aware, how can you be consciously aware? Consciousness implies memory, what has memory to do with awareness? There is no such thing as conscious awareness. Likewise problems cannot exist in the now problems are the minds domain.

Logic Vs Emotions Emotions are always stronger than logic because our emotions are the of our sense of awareness that within it has the depth understanding that shaps a logical perspective we attach to that emotion.
However, many are mislead by what their emotions mean, other than the cultural definition of them, and therefore are used as the template that determines the perceptions we have.
Many perceptions have been built up within our minds over many years, however, where we find that emotions are resistant to change from the logical part of our thinking, that logic has no awareness to define its strength and authority over that resistance.
So, of course, when we challenge old habits, the awareness of those habits is far stronger than the new logic we wish to apply., because we haven’t developed an awareness for it.
In essence, when the body resists, it is actually saying “we don’t know what you want ” or “we do not understand” and as such the body runs the old program of thought.

  • Without logic, we are blind and totally fools and idoits.
But without emotions and feelings we are just Robots. Someone without emotions and feelings just exists but never lives.

Left brain > right brain ❌
Right brain > left brain ❌
Right brain = Left brain ✅

  • I’d just like to say that emotion doesn’t ALWAYS win over logic. A truer expression would be USUALLY or OFTEN wins over logic.
I’m nearly 70 and the best decisions I ever made were SENSIBLE ones. I didn’t FEEL like doing them and had to use will power to go against my feelings. I could not envisage any good feelings from these decisions but logically knew they were right.
To keep myself from letting emotion stop me, I just kept saying to myself that all my sensible decisions turned out very well. So I trust my logic over my feelings.

  • I just baked a cake during this lock down and god I was surprised by the sugar that goes into it. Safe to say I am not taking that extra slice.

  • Logic vs Emotion

Emotion always wins over logic. However, you can use this to your advantage by substituting one
emotion for a stronger emotion that incites the desired action.

Example: I’m afraid of asking my boss for a raise despite logically deserving to ask. Replace fear of rejection with the excitement for growth, acting upon self-worth, be brave, etc. The point is to emotionally charge yourself in the direction of logic, but not by logic.

  • There is you(spirit, logic) & there is the brain(the tool trough which we interact with the body&the world).

The more we practice control over our brain, the more enlighted, happy, fulfilled we are! (these levels of control over our brain are called chakras in spirituality. u have all the chakras balanced when you always do what u say…. that is it… this is how u become a buddha,an enlighted, like Jesus & Buddha himself )

If there is a fight between you(logic) & the brain(how u feel) then the brain always wins. Because both mental & physical energy comes from the brain. (see OBS on the bottom)
If u want to do something… get the energy from the brain. Tell ur brain what u want & make those pictures really energising, exciting! What exactly to tell ur brain?

Avoid saying: “i have to achieve this outcome”,”i cant practice this action towards desired outcome”, “i choose this outcome as my goal”,  “I want this outcome”, “I expect this outcome to happen”
Instead say:  “i am enough,i dont have to achieve or do anything, What i do,i do it because i choose to”
“I choose to take responsibility on the outcome(i choose to practice this action towards desired outcome)” notice that take responsability=take action
“i want to practice this action towards desired outcome because i’ll love to achieve this outcome “
“I demand myself to put this goal on my nr 1 priority”, “i choose to give myself up completely, to say no to unnecessary things &give it my absolute best”
“I do my best & dont expect any outcome. The outcome is not for me to control. The only absolute control i have is to control my brain so it gives me energy for action.

Everything is change, universe is change & what happens is neither good nor bad, it is nature & it happened before & it will happen again in future.
If things go bad i go madly upset for 5 min (the 5 min rule) but i wont let it unsettle me for longer.
Have i learned from what happened? if yes then move on bc there is no benefit staying upset.
As a rule, we only hold on to that which moves us towarrds our goals. If it is not, we let it go.
Have a diary of decisions. It will be easy to observe the patterns, in order to improve ur decision making. To make decisions quickly & change them very slowly if ever.
(eg women repeatedly picking wrong men dont figure it out… but with a decision journal… it is easy to connect the dots)

    OBS:
Motivation, determination, willpower, focus power… all this mental energy come from the brain
But that is not all… cortisol hormone & other hormones required for physical energy &nutrition, glucose… all physical energy comes from brain. It decides to store it or give it to action

  • Dear Marissa
Logic is a gift from God the eye through which man could see and kow the all wisdom and creativity of God and also survive after they were exiled from Paradise. The Grace of God that they were enjoying in Paradise was replaced by logic that was needed for a life away from the presence of God!
The word Emotion is characterized by the Holy Fathers to reprsent “a way of life ” in Christianity, because this word also means meaning (meaning of life), expirience, feelining, logic, and mind.
It is throught the expiriences of Saints (those who enabled thir selves to the presence of God) tht there are 2 ways in aquiring kowleledge,

THE TWO WAYS OF ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE
[Colossians 2-8] “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of man.”
There are two ways by which man can acquire knowledge. The first way is known as Philosophy and is described to be begotten “a man centered way” because man has always the first word to his own understanding, his own mind, his own logic that in many times is accompanied by man’s fantasia. Man’s logic and thinking process have the first word in formulating ideas in order to express ideas, opinions or visions, or in order to further benefit mankind in medicine and science.

The second way in acquiring knowledge needed for the Heavenly Truth for Salvation is thought Revelation by the Holy Spirit and it is known as receiving knowledge the -Christ centred way. The precondition of acquiring knowledge the Christ center way (Revelation) is that religious Life is practiced according to the Will of the Triad God as delivered for the Salvation of man 2000 years ago with 85 Holy Apostolic canons (rules).
    Cannons of the Apostles
    http://www.holytrinitymission.org/books/english/canons_apostles_grabbe.htm#_Toc68522491

These Holy Apostolic Cannons that enable the presence of Lord Jesus as the “head of His Body the Church” and as a High Priest and Mediator to His Father for each and every one, ensures man’s freedom, because they were set forth to free man from his biggest tyranny that is SIN, and they are aimed to set man free from his biggest tyrant who is the devil.
(Α Colossians 1:18) “He is the head of his body, the Church; He is the source of the body’s life”.
    http://orthodoxinfo.com/general/stjohn_church.aspx

The TRUTH is revealed ONLY to those who have properly prepared to receive it those who love Him by obeying His commandments and it is RECEIVED PERSON to person, meaning that the TRIAD God delivers the knowledge personally to man just like he delivered Moses the Ten Commandments. [John 14:2] “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him” Salvation means Salvation from death, and death means the Eternal separation from God.

    http://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2013/03/the-foundations-of-orthodox.html

This is what Lord Jesus told St. Symeon when He became worthy to His presence in His divine Light.
“It is me, God, Who became man for you; and behold that I have made you, as you see, and shall make you god”.

    Come home my brother
    God bless

  • I tried every diet. I would start aggressively which would lead to quitting after few days. I realized that I had to gradually make changes instead of going cold turkey. once I did that I lost a bunch of weight right around 30 lb and sugar is a big cause of weight gain and crankiness. Save your life by saving the sugar for ants only.

  • Emotion is more powerful than logic, however it’s important to realise that emotions are interchangeable and don’t have to define you at any point, Take someone feeling depressed from a ‘broken heart’ after being recently dumped, and they’re now feeling completely helpless and emotionally drained, now one might say it’s going to take the dumpee a few months to recover from this emotional breakdown, that might be very true, but let’s just imagine in this same set of circumstances you’ve just won the maga millions jackpot, your emotions have now been transformed by another set of circumstances and your allegedly broken heart has now mysteriously found a way to instantly be whole again.
An extreme example but demonstrates your emotions are interchangeable under any set of circumstances. The key is to understand that no situation has to define you as everything is subject to change and your awareness of this principle is POWER in it’s self.

  • What about uncomfortable/unwanted recurring intrusive thoughts and images? Doctors call them a symptom of OCD. How do you change those? To get past the feelings/emotions they cause? Sadness, shame, guilt. How do you break this habit of the mind?

  • People Fighting The Battle Between Logic & Emotions Daily

    1. I keep knowing the logical thing to do, but I choose the emotional stuff. So I am Inadaqute; no, you are not.
    2. Logica is Always Overcome by Emotions
    3. You see an opportunity, but the negative emotion of the potential outcome stops you in your tracks. What to do? Make the oppurtunity better emotions

    Examples
Weak Emotional Choice: “I am scared to ask my boss for a raise because I fear they will laugh me out of the office.
STRONG EMOTIONAL CHOICE: If I go to My Boss and show the proof of my contribution to the organization and the value i create, I am confident they will agree to give me a raise in pay. (sidebar: simply writing this made me feel more empowered, wow!)

weak emotional choice: I really want to ask that person on a date, but I am not good enough
STRONG EMOTIONAL CHOICE: “I am lovely and amazing. What can i get from asking that person for a year? Even if it doesn’t work out, I am only precisely where i was before and have lost nothing but gain courage by being brave.

Emotions always when & logic never wins.

weak motional Choice: I can stand on the window seal of my apt when it’s on the first floor
STRONG EMOTIONAL CHOICE: “”Why can i stand up her? Because Emotion Overrules Logic

” I can make my life phenomenal, extraordinary, and wonderful by always using emotion to defeat emotion.”

WEAK: I fear public speaking because of what others may think of me.

    Make The Emotion Better

STRONG EMOTIONAL CHOICE: I can speak, i have something to say, people do like me. And when i do that speech, and i connect to that audience, my life gets better and better, more focused, and relax. Now i can make more statements at work, i can lead the team, my boss loves and recognizes me.

Now I am exciting my imagination supportive, empowered, and exciting emotional language.

When the Battles with emotion come up, use provocative language.

Use a stronger, better, more compelling emotions then ill get everything i want out of life.

Exciting my imagination Not Medicating my imagination

  • fyi it’s not catastrophizing if you’re actually in the middle of a catastrophe. being in the middle of one of those I’m particularly sick of this video showing up in my recommendations. sorry no offense to the wonderful and kind doctor, here who otherwise has alot of amazing and helpful info. Youtube really needs to have a submission box under the not interested tag so they can you know, not keep having excuses to mess with people.

  • They all build in the same foundation: detachment. Detach the soul from the ego. From what little I understand, this detachment idea comes from Indian religion(s). Hinduism, Buddhism. Yoga is the physical practice to detach. Yoga: the body is the bow, the yoga positions are the arrow, the target is the soul.

  • A lot of these symptoms or characteristics come from trauma from upbringing. I had a tumultuous and dysfunctional life being raised in lower class society. There was always a disaster, drama and catastrophe. Rent not being paid, dad is drunk again, kicked out of another place to live, living with family, arguments from parents, drug abuse, etc… I chose not to do drugs or drink because of how bad my parents fkt up. but still,as an adult I am like a neurotic rabbit who is pretty positive reality is a negative thing. I had history to chow me this. It’s hard to get out of this.

  • mA, I like the idea of the BA / MD program. Hibba, if you read this…

Did you take AP courses in High school?

How did you manage to do 22 credit hours a semester, without burning out?

How was personal time / how many hours a day did you get to yourself daily during college / Medical school?

Lastly, through out high school, college, and medical school did you find yourself following a routine, schedule, or a mixture of both?

  • I have trouble paying attention to people so obviously out of touch with the norm get a haircut shave look look like the rest of us

  • I served 30 years in the military. Catastrophizing was how we did business or at least how I did business. It kept me prepared for the unexpected and ensured I could handle anything that came up and often was reinforced by both my successes and failures. If I succeeded, it meant worst case planing and preparing was the best way to act in the future. If I failed at something, it made me try harder to not fail again. Now I’m out of the military for 6 years and have severe anxiety (I had it many years in uniform too). Big time. I invite bad outcomes and events into my life because of my anxiety. I wish I had seen this video in 1980 something, but we didnt have videos back then.

  • I think my thoughts are real.So I saved myself into nothingness, there is safety.I don’t like positive thoughts anymore because they are not real just in few situations.

  • Hey Dr Hibba if you can see this, can I get an insight if I can transfer from my college to the BS/MD program? I’m in a community college doing biology. I’m in sophomore year.

  • I’m a sugar addict. I wish I could just stay at home, not have a social life and work from home and never leave the house because as soon as I do, I’m tempted everywhere with any little sugary thing I see. It’s hard for me to turn down anything sweet even if it’s bad for me, like even if it contains gluten or dairy since I’m allergic to both, I will still gobble it down because I have ah zeeeerro willpower to refuse once it’s in arms reach. This sucks. Until I become fully in control, I can not dance around temptation with the 80-20 thing. It will overpower me instantly.

  • I wish people wouldn’t dismiss medications so broadly..”antidepressants and antipsychotics and all of that rubbish”..those medications save many, many people’s lives. Taking them with alcohol is not a good idea..maybe that was the issue?

  • I quit sugar for two weeks and went back to eating sugar for two weeks. Boy was I feeling ill during the last two weeks. My mood was so low and my performance got worse on my workout routine. I’m on my first day of quitting sugar again.

  • After cutting myself multiple times before realizing what I was doing to myself then getting so scared and breaking down even more cause of fear, I’m glad I came across this. God is good all the time

  • To be honest most of the time im kinda emotionless because i let my logic domminate my emotions but in resalt i sometimes in the happiest moment’s of my life i can feel nothing

  • Some of her talks are great. This one misses the mark. It’s positive but she confuses beliefs/thoughts with emotions at time. This talk is more in the genre of a motivational talk and has less helpful info than some of hers others. (Elsewhere her remark “I am enough” as a thoughtful state, ent has the effect of resolving negative emotions and instituting increased self confidence..)

  • False equivalence. Emotion always wins the battle because it’s a battle. The guys that installed that window weren’t in a battle and presto, window installed.

  • Proactive vs Reactive people…
Proactive people admire and despise Reactive people.
Reactive people admire and despise Proactive people.

  • “Yeah, but it’s totally worth it” = says my wife and kids. It’s truly addictive; some people would just rather die than give up their fix. Trying to talk about carbs and sugar makes you a modern day Cassandra.

  • Lol forget about logic?
    I trust my logic.
You wouldn’t be human or speak that way without logic. Guys forget about feelings and all these shit stuff, be aware of what other people are programming to your brain. There is a between them and they will never agree-
One questionhow you are able to solve challenging problems in your life when you are emotional? Emotion comes and left but logic will never leave. Use your mind wisely and never trust anyone without using logoc and facts.

  • I have yet to fail through my own actions, but I have had numerous instances of others causing me to fail outside of my control.

All I know is, I do this exact thing to a degree, and many of these worst case scenarios have come true, so it seems like a heightened ability to see what lies ahead based on available evidence.

  • Um all of this is true recently I’ve been sitting with my anxiety and giving it space to roam. I slowly built confidence by accepting the discomfort but doing what I need to do anyway. Confidence is not a feeling so much as it is an act. I stopped waiting for my fear to go away and chose to act in confidence. I’m diagnosed with general and social anxiety. Def still feel the physical symptoms of anxiety but I do my best to push through it by taking this video’s advice. Thank you for posting this❤

  • Hello, ma’am. I would really love to hear your info, but your mic setup and perhaps nervous habit of lip smacking makes the video unwatchable.

  • How to get over a negative emotion? The experiences which I had in my past were hurtful when it came to friends! So I use my practical thinking when it comes to friends like not to get too close with them because I don’t want to get hurt again! But,this has build a wall. I’m not like how I used to be! I want to break this wall and be an open and a free person like before! It’s hard to choose between being practical and emotional.
I would be really very great full to get a revert back!
Thank you so much and take care

  • You’ve aptly described me. I’ve conditioned myself to think negatively since I was a kid so that I can lower my expectations in life and not be hurt or disappointed. I really appreciate your tips and videos, keep it up!

  • The fact that you can think that, simply departing from the wrong thoughts cautiously can solve the problem, is a sign that you have not experienced the depth of it. It’s not a choice for the ones who are truly afflicted. The rational brain wiring simply does not allow it. Those who can alter it cautiously are lucky I guess.

  • Interesting that a talk which is all about meditation, self-reflection, thinking….. And a few good souls think they are doing others a service by posting the exact time when he mentions those questions!! Well, those two questions are meaningless if you don’t know the journey that was taken to GET to those questions. Sure, everyone knows E=mc2…. but if you want to work as a physicist or even call yourself one, you’d better know how Einstein arrived at that equation! Similarly, if we really want to know what those questions do, you’d better listen to the full talk. And not surprisingly, the people who post that time with “save yourself the time” and “TLDR” etc. also have the flippant attitude of “it’s full of pap””Useless talk” etc.
The ancient Indian yogis followed the principle of “Ne-ti” to question and philosophize. Ne-Ti is the combination of “Naha” and “Iti” translated “Not This”. But to say “Neti”, how can you do so without knowing “It”? For know the “It” in this case, you have to listen to the man. Unless you do that, you can neither say “Naha” (kinda close to “Nada” 😉 ) or “Iti yasya saha” (Translated: This is it)

  • There is no reason to believe sugars, plants, etc. were put here for us. They were doing just fine. We might be the unexplained invaders still trying to figure out what to eat. I don’t think it’s carbohydrate.

  • My wake-up call came about a week ago when I had a routine physical exam and the doctor told me, “Your blood sugar is one point below diabetic!” Oops.

I’ve been a vegan for 18 years, and had quit drinking alcohol 12 years before that—after which I thought I had solved my sugar problem, to tell you the truth. I ended up substituting one addiction for another, of course.

I have tried to avoid processed foods, yet I know I still have a sweet tooth—as did my grandmother, who lost a toe and then a leg to Type 2 diabetes. (It was well-known she had pulled many of her own teeth by tying a string around the diseased tooth, tying the other end of the string to a doorknob, then slamming the door.) In her later years she was legally blind, and she died at 75 with an enlarged heart.

This past week of scrutinizing every label has been an eye-opener for me; it seems most processed foods I had taken for granted have some sugar in them: tomato sauce, cheese-flavored crackers, spicy potato chips, even salsa. I spent yesterday throwing away numerous items that had been opened; I’m going to take the unopened jars and boxes and donate them. And the six pints of vegan ice cream in the freezer? Down the toilet.

This past week I’ve felt a mental clarity that’s a great reinforcer to keep going; although I’ve skimmed articles over the years about “sugar brain” and “sugar belly,” I feel I’m on a new path.

  • I’m addicted and I hate it, the withdrawl from sugar is bad, so tired and I just feel weird. I will quit though, slowly working it out.

  • It’s fashionable at the moment. It’s been for a while and it is reaching new peaks. The fear mongering are so intense, and everyone is affected by it. I think the times now are the worst since the nazi-era. People bury you in gloom and doom.

  • Dextrose is corn sugar manufactured from cornstarch per CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATION 21CFR184.1857; therefore, glucose (blood sugar) is not dextrose (corn sugar) and dextrose (corn sugar) is not glucose (blood sugar). They may be biochemically identical (Molecular Formula: C6H12O6)]; however, not with regard to their allergenicity; e.g., glucose (blood sugar) cannot provoke an allergic response, whereas dextrose (corn sugar manufactured from cornstarch) can prove fatal to anyone with an IgE-mediated allergy to corn. It is for this reason that IV fluids to which corn sugar (dextrose) has been added are contraindicated for administration to corn-allergic patients.

  • I have noticed over the years people will repeat the same thing, although with slightly different words three times, I just got that here…OK we get it.

  • The medical costs for excessive sugar must be very high. This makes me wonder why Insurance Companies don’t promote to the Doctors reducing sugar and simple starchy carbohydrates intake. Educating Doctors and patients could save the Insurance Company millions of dollars and would be the right thing to do. Given that companies are interested in the bottom line, it’s a mystery why we’re not seeing the Insurance Companies aren’t doing this.

  • Energy doesn’t die; it just changes form. And that thought is just how this snake oil salesmen says.

All my thoughts, just gone. So exquisite.

Except when you actually analyze this d******.

  • I had tried sugar free diet and it workes well for my health. But im not that discipline. Now i quit diet because of work bussiness reason. It seems not practical. And my health just got worse.

  • What a gem! Each one of your videos I want to watch! Like a kid in candy store. Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise with those who really could use it!

  • Awesome interview and questions! Thank you so much for the content. I enjoy hearing that not everyone knows exactly which field they want to go into while entering medical school. I also enjoyed discussing the family lifestyle.

  • I cut massive carb and refine sugar. Drinking green tea like 3-4 times a day, jog 4 times a week for 4 months, from 73kg to 58kg. Now I am weight 52-53kg:) still drinking green tea

  • I thought I made this term up! I used to do this all the time and spiral down the dark hole. Now, I just take those thoughts captive, say “No, that isn’t going to happen.” Or “I won’t think about that unless/until it actually happens.” And don’t let myself dwell on it. I have found prayer helpful as well.

  • Two minorities coming together! I never used to mention things like that, but tbh it’s huge and means so much to students like me. You two are great role models.

  • one of us went into medical school wanting to do orthopedic surgery…but it ended up not being his thing! thankful for diverse people in the medical community who each like different parts of medicine to help out patients as best as we can:)

  • Love is a virtue. It is a compulsion (thus it is spontaneous). It is from the heart. A virtue cannot be commanded. A compulsion and its spontaneity, cannot be commanded. Love from the heart cannot be commanded.
    Enjoined, yes, commanded, no.
Some argue that love is a principle and not an emotion. A principled decision can never fully be divorced from emotion because we are not robots. A principled decision is as a RESULT of the compulsion of love. Love is always a compulsio…n, otherwise what we are talking about it is purely an ethic.
My experience is that we do not love because love is commanded by a god that we cannot see or hear, we love because its our nature to love, when we’re free to love.

  • You’re ready for the next frequency??? Don’t focus on negative people, focus on yourself, allow your awareness the silent watcher to watch the negative thinking and it will dissolve

  • John Hudert Best 13mins invested in listening to the context behind the benefit of why these 2 Qs are worth remembering/utilising. Very worthwhile listening no waste of time. Even you had to listen to the 13mins before you decided that it was a waste of your time… and then to requote what the 13mins had taught you.

  • My biggest problem is with breakfast. Pretty much in all camps, they have one or two recommendations. Eggs, plain greek yogurt or maybe in vegan is a ton of recipes for tofu or tempeh to mimic non-vegan breakfasts. Some cook needs to give some love to breakfast.

  • So what happened to social distancing? No mask. What’s going on? Is the COVID pandemic over at this talk? As I see it, a resounding, YES!!
I just had to write this because of the media scare about this pandemic, that is all

  • Dr. Webb, one of the BA/MD programs is actually here in my home city at the University of Toledo College of Medicine (my top choice medical school when I get to that point.) Wish I had known that was an option when I was a high-school freshman

  • Wow, I needed to hear this, especially at 25 minutes. I’m almost 60 and my mother and siblings have always said I was a “bad kid, and bad man or loser.” I have worked so hard to forgive them, the narcissists. I may go a year or 10 not speaking to them. I am handicapped from birth with Kleinfelter Syndrome and although I have recovered from alcohol since age 32 (when I got diagnosed) my family loves to make me miserable any way they can! I’m glad i have a few friends but I need to find an emotional positive support group. My thinking has always been messed up but I naturally attract bad people who try to befriend me and then I am too trusting and then I get ripped off, over and over again. I’m not a “Loser” but it’s good the hear there are so many negative people out there. I have to fight my emotions every day to avoid depression and thinking bad thoughts about myself. What keeps me going most is eating well, no sugar, since I got type 2 diabetes 9 years ago.

  • Have been on a virtually carbless diet for five weeks. Three days in and I had withdrawals. I had someone working as my diet partner that helped me stay strong. After two weeks. I got to have a “cheat” meal. That helped. It was something to look forward to. At five weeks, I have lost 11 lbs and have had one glucose reading over 200. The biggest change has been the insulin issue. I have had to reduce my Lantus from 40 to 24 units per day. I still take homologue but only before lunch and or dinner, but I can’t take more than 8 units. This is the hardest most drastic diet I have ever tried, but seeing the immediate drop in the need for insulin has really helped me stay on the diet. Plus I do get my cheat meal every two week.

  • Proof Ted talks have no standards for boring speakers. A 2 minute talk stretched out by boring, irritating, simplistic, utterly self absorbed drival.

  • i used to eat ice cream from the tub every single day. i was addicted to sugar it became such a problem. when i stopped prioritising satisfying my sugar craving, completely stopped buying ice cream for home and refocused my cravings on other wholesome foods i love to eat (eggs, avocado, broccoli), my cravings for ice cream disappeared. now i can enjoy ice cream on occasion when i go out without feeling the need to binge eat it.

having an 80/20 mindset doesn’t work: it’s like making sure sugar is a part of your everyday diet. so have a no sugar focus, because the chances of sugar and highly processed foods slipping in your diet everyday is very likely regardless.
but when you do have sugar, eat it as slowly as you possibly can: you’ll enjoy it more and it’ll satisfy your sugar craving much better.
intermittent fasting was also key for me because i wanted to spend the time i was allowed to eat on wholesome filling foods.

  • Logic is superior,it helps you solve all problems, diagnose issues, create plans, protects you in times of issues and danger, distinguishes between who is an enemy or an ally based on memories of past experiences and patterns of the individual and gets you out of an immense amount of danger.
Emotions are the exact opposite,9/10 emotions are the cause of all your life’s issues, they cause you to be attracted to dangerous people, toxic individuals you shouldn’t allow into your life,it ruins your decision solving, pushes you to do irrational things, causes depression, drains your energy.
I view emotions as a sort of a drug, like cocaine, they are hard to control and quit.

  • Is this catastrophizing or is this being smart.?My girl friend says we don’t need to get new tires to go. Say I’m looking at the worst case scenario.

Here’s what I asked friends on Facebook. Believe me when I say bald I me bologna skin’s.

I have a question may sound stupid but. Is it wise to drive 300 miles to the beach in 300 miles back. With four ball tires I’m talkin almost slicks. Some tires have let’s say two to four plugs in them with slow leak oh. Some still have broken pieces of metal in them.So is it A for Bing negative?? Or B or being wise?? Just trying to get the majority.

  • im starting to do videos about my abusive and torturous(sp) childhood, and am going to mention your channel frequently..You are down to Earth.. I have 27 years working crises intervention with adult mentally ill. mostly schizophrenics.. God it was rewarding when I wasn’t having panic attacks

  • I’m experiencing this right now. I got myself into a situation and then I decided not to go through with it and I’m thinking that the person is going to wish bad things on me or my family. I’m thinking about this all day and I can’t even sleep. My chest gets tight and burning sensation. My head feels tight overthinking because I don’t know what the person intentions are. I’m so nervous and scared about this. Talking to the person felt like I was being pressured to do something and pressure to keep sending money. I get chills and I hardly sleep now. How can I heal this. Please help me.

  • I should stash some refined sugar away so that when it becomes illegal within the next 20 years (hopefully) I can make a profit

  • I’ve listened to this woman before, people really like her but I personally find it quite annoying and artificial the way she talks and repeats things… am I the only one? And if you really like her could you explain why?
and to be honest I don’t agree with what she’s saying either. YOU and your mind make the decisions, sometimes it’ll be rationally and others emotionally…

  • Great speech, quite motivating as well. But Stevia is not a healthy-minded sugar replacement.
Andddd how can you not have a pizza and coke for lunch, I’m definitely a sugar addict by your definition and need to work on it..

  • Not say I disagree with reducing or cutting out sugar, but I remember hearing of a study out there that claimed kids get hyper because of the excitement around sweet treats, not literally from the sugar itself. Been awhile since I’ve seen it though…

  • People, maybe many won’t see this, but I please people Seek God he loves you all so much and Sent his one and only Son to die for you, if you truly seek he will reveal himself to you and will make you a new person. He can take care of your worries and fears, he saved me from depression, the Lord is Good whoever finds him finds rest, Jesus loves you all and wants a personal relationship with you guys and he is coming back soon people please get right with God is is REAL. There is power in the name of YASHUA HAMASHIACH (Jesus Christ) he can set your free of anxiety, depression, heartbreaks, disease, fear, etc etc. God bless you all.

  • I had read somewhere that an infection from H1N1, (“swine flu”), can raise the risk of children getting type 1 diabetes. Good talk.

  • probably the worst ted talk ive ever watched. she literally restates the same thing over and over. don’t eat sugar. don’t eat sugar. actually you can eat some sugar, but you shouldn’t. everyone is wrong and i’m right

  • This is so me. This is definitely me right now. I needed to see this. I developed debilitating anxiety this year. Catastrophizing is keeping me from doing what I love as a fiction writer because of things like irrational (yet, not impossible) fears of trolls, stalkers, and the existence of highly toxic netizens. I shouldn’t let those things stop me. If millions of other writers can do it, then I should too.

  • i’ve always been a catastrophic thinker, but in general, i just use it to strategize and prepare for situations. because i’m so prepared, i rarely feel anxious. if there’s a situation that i have no way to prepare for, then i just let it go because it’s beyond my control.

  • She’s just envious ’cause she can’t eat sugar.

No I’m joking, grear video, I’ll try to never eat sugar again, or almost at least. In some parties you gotta eat the cake or less they’ll cry…

  • But what if we decide that our thoughts are not important, when in reality they are? What if we overlook our conscience, our inner judge? What shapes your conscience?
