  • This is a really helpful explanation thank you! I’m trying to restore my body, after far too many long days sitting at a desk before strengthening. I’ve sub’d so I can try your restorative playlist for a while before moving on thanks again!:)

  • Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. Very informative and I enjoyed it a lot. Just subscribed to your channel and I can’t wait to try some of your videos. I am very new to yoga so this was extremely helpful ❤❤❤

  • If I lift 4x a week and do different type of cardio every morning, would you say doing power yoga on two days that I don’t lift weights is too much? You mentioned getting power crazy and injuring yourself. I’m 29

  • Hey Friend, I really enjoyed this video. I am a total Beginner in Yoga… I mean like….I only knew yoga existed for like, 3 yr. Only…an never yet ever went to a yoga class.
I wanted to ask…what are these other Yoga’s I heard mentioned before by others…
    JYANA YOGA
    BHAKTI YOGA
    KARMA YOGA
    RAJA YOGA
    KUNDALINI YOGA
    SHAKTI YOGA
    ETC???
COULD YU PLEASE PERHAPS MENTIONE WHAT THESE MAY BE ABOUT?
    THANKS IN ADVANCE

  • Starting the day with a practice that allows your senses to guide you and not your itinerary will change your life.
Just kidding. Who am I to say?
    Though it really might.
It will definitely influence your day.

  • Thanks for the video, it would be better if you talk less in the practice and maybe upload a separate video explaining each pose for people to watch later or before the practice. That way it’s more silence in the video and easier to focus on the body and breath.

  • Thanks for this video. I believe more people would try yoga if they had this information. Vinyasa as a first attempt can be very intimidating. I did not know there were other, more gentle, disciplines.

Namaste

  • Thank you ☺. I thought you said that hatha has no flow or almost no flow but in 3:55 you said that if you like vinyasa then take hatha. Is there contradiction here or do I misinterpreted what you were saying? Anyway I love this kind of sharing.

  • I have now since March in quarantine. And without a job. I have been doing yoga in a regular basis and this has save me for losing my mind!!! Thank you very very much

  • I love love love that at this point 90% of all my youtube reccomendations are your videos! You make each day a little easier, and while that is down to the yoga too, you as a person warm my heart. You truly deserve all of the good the world has to offer. Grateful to have found you:)

  • My first new day morning yoga with Adrienne thank you feeling amazing looking forward to catching up with 2 fabulous friends for lunch. Yes I do remember memory from Barbara Streisand amazing woman beautiful voice and actress.

  • I noticed you have some week long yoga challenges on your channel. Can you create one that would be a good weekly routine with a combination of all 4 styles. I am a runner and would love to do the power yoga but also want to incorporate the other 3 into my weekly routine. I’m not sure if you already have something like this….if so can you point me in the right direction. By the way, I’ve been through many yoga channels here on youtube and yours is by far the best one I’ve come across! Thank you so much, very informative!:)

  • Lets see, how is Yin, Flo’s style. Flos is amazing for vinyasa, Yan, and another hardcore pose.

    Thanks for ahafing, Flo

  • Hey Idan, this is by far the best intro for beginners, that I found on youtube! I wanted to also do a video about it, now I am unsure of doing it, because you covered it so great!

  • According to the description of yoga in this video, yoga is a physical approach that links posture, exercise, and breathing. Yoga classes are powerfully helpful for improving strength and flexibility, toning the body, reducing stress, and improving physical awareness. Watching these videos, I first knew today that asana is the term for the movement of yoga. And while watching these videos, Vinyasa and Ashtanga now have a basic concept of what yoga is and what it does.

  • I had such a horrendous fight with my boyfriend yesterday. I’m worried he may be verbally abusive.
Anyway, I did this exercise this morning and I’m finally feeling better
    Thank you Adrienne

  • It’s so helpful, thank you very much. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours where I got a good look at your face. You’re very pretty. Thanks again!

  • Hey SarahBeth great video but….What kind of yoga do you recommend for posture correction? It because I needs to correct my posture my physiotherapist recommended me to do yoga.

  • That was THE Session I needed. Wonderful guided Yoga hour and it really felt as if she was with me in the room. I am now a fan of yours.

  • This is an awesome practice i never really considered doing yoga but it helped me connect and eased my depression just alittle bit thank you adriene ❤️ and this song is memory from cats soundtrack?

  • Hi. My hip flexibility has been affected by many years of ballet and your practice has helped this problem a great deal. However I am noticing that a have tightness and ‘pulling’ in my right occipital area that I cannot seem to release. I wonder if you have any advice, practice to help with this?

  • sarah I like the way you talk…it is easy to understand.how old are you and do you think these yogas help to make you more younger lookin not just heathier? I subbed but I am so curious about yoga in general and does it really work w/o turning myself into a pretzel hee hee lol thanks

  • This is precisely the video I was after. I closed several videos that came up in my search results, yours was the first to directly provide me with what the title suggested. Thank you!

  • Lovely explaination! Thank you so very much. This is the first “how to” video I could watch. The others I glanced at were not as calming as yours. Your voice is soft and clear and the background sounds are appropriate. Namaste

  • I’m new to yoga and just started taking yoga classes at a studio. I’m enjoying it, but I’ve been confused by the different terminology and styles and the purpose of each. This video helped me so much!!! Now I have an idea of what I’m doing and why! Thank you!

  • Hatha: physical practice, no flow. Good for beginner and it could be strong. Vin*** Flow: flowing style, link posture. Practice when having experience. Yin Yoga: on the floor whole time and hold a posture for a little longer time. Some can be intense. Restr****: a little more active.

  • Thank you for captioning your videos! Youtube will turn off the automatic captions, which I am devastated about, so I appreciate this. Your yoga videos are something I can come back to daily.

  • Really nice video! I used to do Yin yoga, and now I found some fun doing flow yoga and challenge my body. Good suggestions! Now I do both Yin and Yang. Love yoga

  • I can’t believe this doesn’t have more views, it explains the differences SO clearly! I also love how you explain to explore the different styles.

  • This was much needed after my long run yesterday! Perfect timing and perfect Guru Flo! Thank you . Sending You and Bre lotsa love!

  • thank you Adriene, I started practicing in April for the first time ever with you and I just love it……yoga is AMAZING I wish I had started sooner but better late than never and you make it very easy thank you so much!!!

  • Thanks for adding this! Any chance you will also add a 1,5 hour Yin practice at some point here or on Patreon? Would be a great complement. Best, Hans

  • Hey can you guys do a video about law of attraction. Like maybe cover some videos about myths and what we can do to increase our attraction. Thanks and cheers

  • Flo, I do this practice about every other day because I enjoy it so much. Any need for you to do another one? Or are these what you would consider the best movements in a Yin style practice? Would love to have another one to follow along with. You guys ar great to practice with! Keep up the great work.

  • This video was just what I needed. I’ve been practicing vinyasa for about a year now. I got into yoga by doing yoga stretches for my sciatic pains.. anyway, with that said, I’ll be looking forward to a yin or restorative practice with you. thank you so much and namaste.:)

  • Thank you so much Maris, I have found this really helpful. I do enjoy the Vinyasa flow style of yoga, but I intend to try the other types, especially Hatha. I look forward to you next video.

  • I really liked this video, I’m into yoga since this year but still haven’t heard about the difference between hatha, vinyasa and so on! what about ashtanga yoga??

  • First time to try this pose 29:48 and it adds to my favorite yoga pose! thank you, Adriene. This video is one of the favorite morning yoga of yours!

  • Your practices are helping me overcome difficult situations that I’m living, I’m fully committed to your videos, hope you read this message and that you have a beautiful day.

  • Thank you Maris for this video. It has clarified many aspects of styles of yoga out there and which practice can be beneficial to different people. This will help me as a yoga teacher and a student. I love to watch your other videos as well.

  • hi. I’d really like to ask yu, what kind of Yoga should I do that pertains to the Soul. and ways to ” get over” being trapped in the physical body. what is the Yoga that brings yu out of the body ‘ Esoterically’, to not only achieve mastery over the state of ” being in the physical body”… but how to bring about the state of Samadhi. ( which to my Understanding yu lose complete Consciousness of the physical state of being).
I’d like really to hear yu enficize about these aspects of Yoga.)
    InfactI just bought. book called
” Hathatatvakaumudi’, which is a Hathayoga classic. I’m certain yu must of studied this. please cam yu Elaborate?

  • Maris, you are such a lovely woman! Thank you so much for your knowledge and advice! Yoga is such a beautiful art and practice. I am so fortunate I have found it. Thank you again! Namaste.

  • I have check out other Yoga materials and this yoga guide “Yοmzοzο Kena” (Google it) stands out to me due to the drawings that is included with the postures. They`re large and also bright colored therefore it is easy to visualize exactly what the pose is SUPPOSED to look like. Indeed and I`m losing weight too..

  • Thank you guys for adding Yin Yoga to your routines…I’m a senior citizen and enjoy the flexibility that the practices promotes…would love to see a program that targeted specific areas…hips, spine, etc…I’m about to start your Ignite Practice…love you guys

  • Thank you for this. I’m extremely new to yoga and didn’t even know there was a difference. I’ve just been searching for yoga for beginners! Thanks for the playlists too! This helps.

  • Google the word “Yοmzοzο Kena” (Google it) to locate this yoga information meant for anyone who`d prefer to understand more about yoga exercise. The guide book could be utilized by aspiring new yogi or the one who has been doing yoga for years by then. The guide clearly shows the postures, breathing, meditation and ways to shed a few pounds daily..

  • YOU TALK WAY TOO MUCH! I love your channel, you and Breathe have made me love Yoga, but for God’s sake, you talk way too much during class. It’s distracting when you’re holding a pose for so long and you don’t stop talking for one. second. This is meant as positive feedback, as I love your classes.

  • Hi SarahBeth, thanks for the great explanation, I went to my first ever yoga session today, it was a restorative session, I didn’t know what I was getting into, the teacher just said this would be good for a newb, and she was right, I really enjoyed it, got some great stretches and liked the chill session at the end, seems like a great Friday afternoon after work thing. I’m mainly hoping to sort out my body after spending too long sat in an office. I’ve just sub’d

  • Been following your yoga videos for a few years now, and I’m so glad I did a yoga for longer than 20 minutes today coz I don’t usually wake up early enough to do it. Love you and hope all of you are doing well during this tough time!

  • WoW! So useful and informative video:) also a good video about the differences between hatha and ashtanga is this one
    https://youtu.be/eMW_FMMhHfw

  • Hi from Texas I’ve started doing yoga for about a month but I have noticed my right knee has a sensation every time cross it for a extended time I also started squatting/ deadlifting again. Should I stay away from crossing my right knee or is it something I have to work up to gradually?

  • As im practicing this awesome morning yoga, I keep saying to myself…” I really like her”. Sweet, soft and kind:)
    Namaste Adriene.

  • Thanks for this video, it explained so much! I’ve only just started doing yoga with your tutorials and it’s going well so far, I’ve already noticed a difference too, in the reduction of tension, deeper sleep etc. It’s been great! Thanks so much for creating all these videos!

  • I have been struggling but I am starting my day with you has made me smile. Fighting depression for ten years. Thank you Adrienne for being here for all of us.

  • Hi Adreiene, I am bus driver is there a yoga I can do while I am driver seat and I have really really bad sciatica and nots in behind my thighs. Please help if you can

  • This is exactly what I needed. Thank you for this video. I’ll start with Hatha since I’m a beginner. But Yin sounds great too, as per your advice to try a style opposed to our personality.

  • I don’t understand why someone would give this video a thumbs down. It’s an excellent practice, put together with so much love! I feel so refreshed! Muchísimas gracias, querida Adriene <3

  • well after a little research wt i think is..if u r totally new first to learn proper pose breathing pattern is imp…so one should start with iyengar and or hatha yoga…

  • Very helpful! Thank you. What about the Akhanda Shakti Method? My friend recently was certified in this style. She also says it’s Yin Yoga though so it confuses me.

  • Great video for someone who is only a few weeks into practicing yoga and already ADDICTED!!! Thanks for helping me learn so I can spread my wings!

  • Day 2: After the relief I got from doing yoga from your migraine yoga video, I decided to do a morning yoga session to start my day bright and early with full swing. It feels awesome! Thank you for the wonderful video

  • I have anxiety, kind of “depression”, my neck is so stiff that both of my arms and wrists started to hurt (I thought it was because I drew too much, but nope) any advices? Oh alos: acid reflux & hipothyrodism

  • I do a mixture of Ashtanga and Hatha, this was a great video I was curious what style i was actually doing since my videos don’t use the sanskrit names of stuff.

  • This was my first practice with you, and I enjoyed it very much. I really liked your running dialogue throughout. It made the uncomfortable poses less uncomfortable and even made me giggle a bit at times. Very relaxing. Namaste

  • It’s an amazing routine thank u Adriene… I have discovered u very recently and truly enjoyed so much… I love yoga and so happy to have it back in my life after my shoulder injury. I cant wait to do one more video and another one and another one of yours….:)))

  • What video about the healthy knees does Adriene mean at 15:55? I’ve been checking them out but the only one I see is about sensitive knees. Is it the one? Thanks

  • How your channel and content has so less followers, I’ll never understand.
I’ve been doing yoga regularly for over two months now. All I do is open one of your videos and follow along.
Thanks a lot for your content. Who says good things arent free!

  • Recommend some weightloss yoga postures and timings like for about 30 minutes in a day doing that would be enough or not for loosing weight?

  • This Shavasana put me in a deep sleep lol. My body ended up waking itself up by lifting up my arms and gently taping them in unison on the mat. Shanti

  • I’ve done this one many times but today I got really emotional. Cleansing my gray matter of doubt. Thanks Adriene. Lots of love from Orkney Scotland.

  • I absolutely love this type of yoga! Have been practicing for 15 years and somehow never really tried this. What’s the difference with restorative yoga?

  • She says to raise your hands and pretend you’re a monkey reaching for a limb. I love my Nayoya rings that hang from my ceiling I like to reach up and grab them and lean this way and that way and lift my legs up off of the ground holding the Rings

  • Thank you for uploading a restorative segment as it’s helped me sustain my poor back during long hours of studying especially since it’s exams season in the coming months!

  • Thank you Flo. Great way to relax this day. I appreciate you and Bre and hope you and this community you have built are doing well

  • Thank you Flo for this wonderful time spent with you ☺ I’m very new to yoga, it was good to stretch! But I can’t L sit, and when you did the crossed legs fold and the stradle fold, I was very stif. Sitting at 90 degrees was impossible without putting my hands on the floor behind me. Any advice? I tried putting my chin on chest but nearly cried

  • Excellent! I’m back on YouTube for yoga lately instead of doing my own stuff or apps. I’ve never done classes. Your stuff is fantastic with the aesthetics, pace, descriptions, high quality video, camera angles (which a lot of apps lack) and music! <3 You, and Adriene who I've followed for many years, are both fantastic! <3 #Centrist #Agnostic #Veganism <3

  • WholeHealth team really enjoyed this practice together via Zoom this morning as a chance to offset the strong Vinyasa session we have done already this week. The rain outside was the perfect soundtrack to this session. The perfect start to a lazy, rainy, meditative rest day for us today. Namaste.

  • Thanks for the excellent content, as you said, this practice made me feel extremely weird at the beginning, later on I just focused even more in my breathing and it made me relax more than ever. Thanks a lot!!

  • So, question, what would you recommend for someone who is completely new to yoga and doesn’t know any of the poses by heart and needs that easy guide into yoga??

  • Hii thanks for the videos your helpful for me,

Where are you from and your studio.

  • I have been doing your yoga practices on and off for 3 years now! I love the beginning of the year day by days. This was a great practice I enjoyed on the beach while pregnant with my seventh child. How peaceful to start my day like this while watching my six babies play on the beach and my husband catch some waves before the hurricane.

  • Adriene thank-you for you videos. I am in Melbourne Australia practising social distancing while in lockdown. You are most certainly helping me to change my energy during this time. Also the song you were humming was Memories from cats.(I am current a dancer waiting for the arts to safety return) Have a wonderful day.

How to be become masters of these technique?
