The next seven days will set you on a path to consistent, enjoyable and beneficial walking. Enjoy! GETTING STARTED. Plan to walk during the time of day when you know you can be consistent — maybe before or after work or on your lunch break.

Look at your calendar for the next seven days, then schedule your walks like you would a meeting. This seven-day plan, created by Richards, helps you do just that. Designed to torch 200 to 400 calories per day, it can kick your weight loss into gear by helping you lose 1 to 3 pounds in a week, assuming you also make some changes to your diet. (Though it might take four to six weeks for more noticeable results.) Here’s how to get started.

This 7-Day Walking Plan Is the Simplest Way to Kick-Start the Fulfillment of Your Fitness Goals. No matter what your bootcamp-loving friend would have you believe, you don’t have to be super sore. Intervals: Alternate 1 minute of a steady pace, intensity level 5–6, with 30 sec – 1 min of a very fast pace walk, intensity level 7–8: 10 minutes. Wind down at a comfortable pace, allowing breathing and heart rate to steady, intensity level 3-4: 2 minutes.

Walking is an essential habit that provides tremendous health benefits. If you find that you’ve been sedentary, and have had difficulty beginning a new exercise regimen, walking is a fantastic way to get started. Keep it simple and consistent.

Look at your calendar for the next seven days, then schedule your walks like you would a meeting (why not hold a meeting while you’re walking). Slowly build up from 30 minutes a day on Day 1 to an hour on Day 7. It’s great to start on a Monday, but any day you want to start is the right day. This simple walking plan is easy to customize according to your schedule. For example, if you only have 10 minutes one day to fit something in, try the speed-walk option. If you get a day (or a week) with more time, focus on longer sessions. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are the core workout days, with Tuesdays and weekends optional at the beginning.

Fridays are rest days or “Alternate Activity” days. Pick which days of the week work best for you and your schedule. Always start your walk with 3–5 minutes at an easy warm-up pace.

Ludovico Einaudi”Seven Days Walking” takes the idea of the same walk done over seven days, but each day the experience is different due to a variety of factors the weather, the season, the walker’s mood, the appearance of different wildlife, a new observation within the landscape and so on.

  • Hi Lucy! I do 1 to 3 of your workouts every day!
    I know you advise against using the scale to track our fat loss….
    My clothes fit better and I feel amazing but the number on the scale is going down very slowly. Is it possible to gain 1 kg of muscle in only 2 to 4 weeks? I only do your workouts and never do strength training or heavyweights.

  • I’m almost done with my 31 day 5miles a day challenge. My jawline is looking mighty snatched as well.

  • I was queuing music to do stretching and meditation to.
    I don’t even need a playlist. This man himself will provide me with months of music. This is amazing.
    It’s also not overly simple. I usually have to relax to bland music to not get distracted by colors, but he allows me to relax while also intriguing my ear. Very good stuff.

  • I am also doing the same exercise since few days. How much calories are burned by following this 7 minute religiously? Any idea anyone?

  • I’d say it’s interesting, maybe a little too simple and repeatable but I guess that this was the composer’s intention. It would be a more powerful experience if there were both music and a video matching the vibes at the moment. What I’m trying to say is that it would make for good movie music not as good for listening but it’s still enjoyable.

    I’ll be doing it for the rest of the month. It feels good and I’ve noticed incredible changes. And yes i losted half to an inch from my arms,hips, thighs and calf. ❤️
    I can’t thank lucy enough for such an incredible workout she planned for us.

    My flexibility has improved a lot and i feel much stronger.

  • I took my bust, waist, and hip measurements before starting. I took them after 7 days and each measurement is 1″ smaller. �� I’m 59 and woefully out of shape with quarantine on top pf that. These exercises are doable even for me! I plan to keep them up and while I don’t expect such a dramatic difference every week (because plateaus are evil), I no longer feel like a slug. Thank you!

  • I just love Lucy’s 7 minute workouts, and I do a combination of 2 workouts in one go. Its just been 2 weeks, and I do feel I am closing upon my target. Its certainly challenging but also feel great once you complete it. Certainly recommend them.

  • I had gotten used to walking at a park near my work on my long work breaks. So my co worker ( with whom I walked with) told me about ankle weights. Although this was a couple years back when I purchased mine at Tj Maxx, You might also want to check out Marshalls or Amazon if they still make the donut weights. I slipped them onto my ankles and loved them. No velcro in sight. I recommend buying a pair if you need that extra boost into your walking routine. I’ve seen two different types of weight’s, the donut ( the ones I bought) or the square looking ones with velcro. I do like the ones I got because you just slip those on.You also can’t tell your wearing them if you wear bootcut jeans or flared work out pants.

The time like no other and also thing to reflect on our life and how we manage our world resources and our lives. My second concert of his but it was different.     01/June/20 Day 7: Done.. today I did the moves the fastest I have ever done. I can’t say if I lost inches / kgs due to this workout but I definitely feel better and I think I would fit into my size 8 pencil dress without feeling like it is going to burst at the seams LOL. I did lose 1kg as a side bonus of the fast I mentioned.

  • Hi. I’m 65. Had a fast metabolism most of my life. Never ever needed to exercise. Started working out April 4th. Work out every day. Different routines. 19 days ago I started your drop a dress size and the 7 minute arm workout. I weighed 157 when I started. Today I weigh 157 yet. And I dropped no dress size for sure.   • I used to get 15K steps while working retail but been laid off since late February. I used to walk my complex and got 7K. I moved back to my hometown but same state. It’s 85-95 degree everyday so it’s not doable to workout much unless it’s during the morning and evening 7pm. I lost 25lbs back in 2011 just eating right and working out. Kept it off for 6yrs. Didn’t have a job or needed one then because I was a student. It’s the best way to concentrate on losing weight. Now I want to lose the weight again plus 5 more.

    I im following you and have lost some fat but not weight. Its very difficult for me to diet. I eat only home cooked food but i eat a lot. I need breakfast then lunch then evening snack and dinner. Important chai two times a day. Can you please suggest me what i have to do?

  • I love walking each day. I walk when I’m talking to my mom on the phone and we walk “together”. I walk at lunchtime and after dinner. I also listen to audible and I’m finishing so many books. I get 14,000-20,000 steps a day average.

  • Guys this challenge didnt help me i didnt shed even a pound before that i shed 5 kg in 20 days doing zumba cardio and toning exercise..i was thinking while watching this video that whether only walking will lead uh to weight loss and i was right….apka weight tb tk ni ght skta jb tk apka heart rate tej na ho walking max km wont give uh any benifit but walking fast will give uh benifit….request dont waste ur time doing this instead walk less but walk fast i will suggest uh that before that i did that which helped me to shed 5 kgs in just 20 days

  • For me I think dieting is not going to change anything, I mean for moderate diet, like normal daily breakfast and meal for tow times a day, its necessary, if you start starving yourself then it leads to more serious health issues, I prefer to enjoy my meal and walk moring and evening atleast 30 mins. You need to increase metabolism. For people who over eat, ya they need to change their food consumption habbit but normal diet lis required for your body to function efficiently. Do you remember? you use to eat anything in your teen age and coleege days still you hardly use to gain wait, I mean depends on your lifestyle too, I myself grown up in a small town and bycycle use to be my mode of transport, where ever I want to go, I use to travel on bycycle. and even in college days, I use to take bus, or walk. I never gained wait until I joined JOB. every day that 8 hours of sitting in one chair few breaks, then coming to home and again sitting on my laptop, this changed everything but still it took 5 years for my body metabolism to dicrease and then I started gaining weight gradually. I still use to do little workout for month in a while then again leave it due to busy schedule or what ever. Then I realized, no matter how much you work out, if you dont make regular habit of walking you cant stop gaining weight, doing gym is good but it wont last long if you stop working out. But just make a habbit of walking, dont use your bike or car for every small trip to a grocery store or medical store near your home. Make a habit of walking to stores near your house say around 3 KM? 3 KM is a walkable distance, believe me, I use to walk 5 KM just to meet friends in my town and today it feels like too far, because we litrally forgot walking. Walking alone can make you fit and thin and that transformation stays for long time. May be because your body metabolisim stays that way for long if you make habbit of walking. We got lazy because of the tecnology and easy transportation. But back in days things were different, either we had to use cycle or walk. Buying a bike is big thing for us.

It is not MY forest, but it is a place that I find oddly “familiar”…Like being in a house, but in the outside…When there is less information, when simplicity rules..When one can only rely on himself and then everything seems so natural….Today’s society lacks authenticity and simplicity…Complexity kills the humanity in us sometimes..It is good to relive natural places and forgotten situations that our ancestors lived every single day.;Sure they died younger then we do and suffered more maybe, but I am 100% confident that they could find happiness in simple things much better than us today with our iPhones and such…

    I am eating home cooked meals. Did not change my diet at all.

    ��I’m just into my third week of doing Lucy 7 day challenges along her walks and 5 minute leg workout. I have not weighed or measured but my clothes fit better I look more toned and hourglass. My body is definitely firmer! my legs definitely Slimmer! I even have some ABS appearing and a tighter waist! I have a way to go so I will continue on. I am feeling very confident thanks to these quick very effective workouts highly recommend them to everyone. I am 47 I have some health issues with thyroid and PCOS and this is helping but do follow a Clean Diet as Lucy says. I have not been perfect but I still see results.   • okay i just wanna say i know some people are to scared to go out in public on walks i did 9k steps in my back garden today from doing laps, and i went on a 5k step walk at like 9am where i wouldn’t bump into anyone from school (i’m 13 btw)
