Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation For Deep Body Relaxation | Tom Cronin

Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, is a powerful meditation technique that prompts the body to relax deeply while the mind remains inwardly alert. Yoga nidra works by guiding you through the four main stages of consciousness or the four main stages of brain activity — beta, alpha, theta and delta. Yoga Nidra is a secret weapon many yogis swear by and one hour of the meditation can be as effective as three hours of regular sleep. It’s not about conscious effort, but.

Yoga Nidra is quickly becoming a very popular meditative practice. And for good reason! Yoga Nidra offers unique insight into our multi-layer, multi-dimensional Self.

The practice also provides deep relaxation and opportunity for reworking belief patterns that are limiting. The explosion of studies supporting the benefits of meditation also apply to yoga nidra, because yoga nidra is a form of meditation. Both meditation and yoga nidra help activate the relaxation response and improve the functioning of your nervous system. Yoga Nidra.

In yoga nidra, the practitioner leads his students through a detailed and specific scrip which essentially says that feel your left toe and then release your left toe.In the yoga nidra. This relaxation response is the secret sauce to yoga nidra because it balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems – the left and right brain –allowing you to unwind into various, beneficial brain wave states. Yoga nidra, a Sanskrit term meaning “yogic sleep” is a deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation. Also called “psychic sleep,” yoga nidra is a state between sleeping and waking. Yoga Nidra—known as yogic sleep—is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.

I’ve heard that an hour of yoga nidra can be as restorative as four hours of regular sleep (although I could not find the research to back this up). Yoga nidra is the ultimate relaxation technique for releasing stress and tension held in your body. Experience a deep level of relaxation, with this easy to.

The beauty of Yoga Nidra is that it not only creates the biological state of chemical balance where we are less likely to drop into habitual mental and emotional patterns, but it also helps us disengage from, and redirect those thoughts before they gain a momentum of their own.

  • Thank you for making this meditation available to everybody. It’s really helpful especially at this challenging time for everybody.

  • Nooooo, does anybody know what’s up with those ads? I recently upgraded my phone and I went from never ever having an ad during meditation for the last 6 years to now having 8 in this one. What happened?

  • Yoga nidra is very good tool indeed. This is one of my tool when I feel bit anxious and not able to taken away my awareness from what ever I am thinking I use this meditation and before it end I will be snoring. It must be used not to fall sleep. But for me it is great tool to calm down my inner radio

  • Fear is appropriate during these uncertain times but too much too long is self-defeating and can be debilitating. Thank you for providing this excellent tool to adjust our inner stress-o-meters. Well done:):):) This is just the thing that I needed to get a truly restful night’s sleep after weeks of tossing and turning. Thank you so much!!! I especially appreciate your steadfast dedication and efforts in carrying this lineage forth for the benefit of increasing our collective wisdom and capacities at this pivotal time in the history of our species. Never have so many been so ripe to evolve. May you be fully blessed. May you be well. May you be safe and know the peace and joy that passeth all understanding.

  • I have always wondered how I can look to improve my sleep, especially since I have chronic pain. In recent years I have heard a lot about Yog Nidra and yet haven’t come across someone who really experiences chronic pain and can explain it. What tops it off is the way you guide through it.

  • thANkyou for this deep beautiful experience. it got rid of some of the tension in my gut that has been difficult to let go of..sat nam…namaste, love your voice

  • When one is told set a sankalpa, they should be given some time to set one… not keep talking. It’s really annoying when the narrators keep going on. There should be at least a 10-15 seconds.

  • This was really deep and satisfying. Thanks! I learned some interesting insights about my favorite places in nature, and my ability to be comfortable…

  • i bought a cpl of your other products to help me fall asleep fast and stay asleep….but nothing worked….can you please make a youg nidra specifically for falling asleep and staying asleep for at least 6 hrs without getting up……thank you

  • Love this, I get so relaxed I always end up falling asleep. I think I’m supposed to stay awake the whole time. Any tips? Is it still beneficial if I do fall asleep?

  • Lizzy, thank you for this video! It has helped me a lot for my insomnia. I listen to it every night to fall asleep. It works for me better than other people’s sleeping yoga nedra. What I want to mention is: it works for me better when I focus intensely, the harder the better. I have stomachaches every early morning. When I practice yoga nidra in my mind and focus intensely, the pain will go away, and I would fall asleep again. I hope this experience will help other viewers.

  • I have listened to this so many times now since you gave it to us and every time I have meant to say such a massive thanks but i feel so renewed and enthused after I Spring into something else in a very positive charged way.

I’m glad that I finally got to say thanks and it really is a powerful 20 min experience.

From working with your other sessions I find I can really use these 20 mins to full potential and I really am in deep bliss.

My body awareness as you guide me around my body is so blissful.

I love the moments near the end when I have the time in silence to just be.

Your guidance has me so ready for it and it’s hard to put into words. I think Alan Watts said when we give it a name it’s gone or something meaning just dont think and be and honesty those 3 minutes are just so blissful.

Your more recent ones haven’t had the silence near the end but have been new teachings and I thank you for those as well.

I am so new to this and have been practicing with you daily and I am so grateful for your teachings.

Love and light and excited to follow this new found journey into life ❤

  • This was my third time of trying the practice. Last two I fell asleep in 5 minutes but now I stayed till the end. My body felt like a soft cotton wool. So relaxed! I will come back again. Thank you!

  • I haven’t tried guided meditation until now, this is the first. All my videos are just music and sounds.. I like to sleep and relax to them.

  • I cannot express how appreciative I am of this meditation, Lizzy. Your video has been nothing short of life changing. I have long struggled with relaxing my mind at night and falling asleep. Now, I listen to this beautiful yoga nidra every night and I am guaranteed to slip off into a peaceful sleep before the 20 minutes are up. I am certain a significant portion of your rightfully deserved 4+ million views are from me! I have found your meditation to be so beneficial, that I frequently share it with my own therapy patients many of whom suffer from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Thank you.

  • Thank you so much for this video!!! It helped me with so many things it’s hard to tell))) It’s the first time I enjoyed meditation. Thank you again!

  • Beautiful ❤️ Best and easiest meditation I have ever done. I usually struggle to meditate this felt unlike any other process the pace is great, the voice is soothing and I felt as if I was held in a safe space. Heartfelt appreciation.❤️

  • Never really been a believer in meditation practice or the benefit it may provide me personally but I have followed this through three times now, twice consecutively! Amazingly beneficial to my wellbeing and relaxation. Thank you Lizzie, I chose this video as my maiden name was Hill so there you go, that was my thinking! Bless you, thanks Lizzie for sharing Yoga Nidra with us, your voice is your power and your beauty‍♀️

  • This is life changing but I always wake up at the end and desperately need one for sleep. Any chance you can make one similar to this that allows us to drift off to a restful slumber?

  • Beautiful.
    Greetings. Please, excuse this interruption.
    THIS IS IMPORTANT.
IDK how to tell you this, but we are in serious need of meditation in order to raise our vibrations. And, the meditations will also help us to relinquish the past, and welcome the new future. The reason why it’s so urgent is because we had the 36 year window, 18 years before, and 18 years after December 21, 2012. And, it is not clear how much longer Kryon will be our guide through this human evolution. The energies of the earth, and of humanity are changing, and we must help them to change into the mysterious beautiful future we want to experience. We are told by channeler Alcazar of the Kryon Group that we should incorporate meditations of gratitude, of deep gratitude that fills the heart. Think of something or someone that you are thankful for, and hold that feeling. And then feel it deep in your heart. And hold it there.

Let’s meditate to vibrate higher, and to ring in our mysterious, beautiful, new future, together, in love.

  • I finally got into Yoga and Meditation as part of my daily routines. Now it’s an important part of my schedule. Peace love and respect!

  • Really needed this type of meditation. The way that you guided really help me to feel relaxed, because my mind run away many times. Thank you

  • Thank you for this. As this ended, I found myself humming. And I know that humming and sound releases what we hold within. And now I’m going to keep humming

  • This brings in a change in one’s mental structure. The relaxation u receive from this is much needed for everyone to fight depression.

  • Always so nice to come back to again when I need to catch my breath and ground myself. I hope you are keeping well and I have missed your weekly updates. X

  • Want access to a whole library of meditations? Download the Omvana app and get them straight from your phone https://go.mindvalley.com/MeditateNow

  • Thanks man that was great, I think it would help you if you had the phrase guided meditation in the title because a lot of people will search for that and this won’t come up in the search results, also it then clarifies that it is a meditation as some people will see the word yoga and assume it means the asana’s

  • Hello Sir, I have started doing your yoga nidra 2 beginners level since last 2 days and I feel so relaxed and peaceful afterwards even though I am unable to do the imagination parts well or the body hotness and coldness and pain parts not at all. And even the imagination parts of the stone temple was totally vague in my mind, but I still did feel relaxed at the end. And I am an extremely stressful person. I would like to progress on to the intermediate level 3 also, but should I be able to follow your instructions perfectly in this beginners level, including the imagination parts and the body sensations feeling parts, before I go on to the next level? As I found those parts difficult to do. Thank you for your reply in advance.

  • Do you recommend a certain length of time spent at beginners level before progressing to intermediate? I’m absolutely loving these practices, thank you!

  • Hey, what are your releasing plans for the future? Will you start uploading new meditations again? Just asking since there has been 6 months of silence which I am sure has been enjoyed properly:)
Did you ever think about selling some advanced Yoga Nidra sessions by the way? Personally I would love to support you that way.

Much love to you and thank you for creating these beautiful guidances <3

  • Hey you…
Bless you and turning all this into a good thing….and kinda going back to your roots…(you know what I mean)
And by doing so your showing also…we never have to follow the wolf in sheep clothes…
    Take good care of you!

  • A little explanation: I paid for a license to use the music in the previous version, but the artist double signed with another label and they created a copyright claim, which meant they could then put ads on that video. They inserted ads after ten minutes into the guided meditation, and this was just unacceptable. I would of let it slide if it was not for that, but many of you were having very negative experiences after getting into that state of deep relaxation and then having a multi-minute long advertisement begin playing. So that is why the previous version got deleted.
The good news is, what ever appears to be the obstacle is actually the way. I studied film scoring and composition in university and have decided to get back into it. Future yoga nidra sessions and guided meditations will have music composed and performed by yours truly! This will allow me to use the natural tones and harmonies found in nature and create a much more deep and even cinematic experience for you all! Thanks for sticking with me… Sri
