7 Healthy Salad Recipes For Weight Loss

Divide the spinach and mushrooms onto 4 plates. Next, portion the mandarin oranges out onto the plates of spinach. Crumble feta cheese onto the tops of the mandarin salad before sprinkling the chopped walnuts over the finished salad. Drizzle the low fat raspberry vinaigrette over the tops of each just before serving.

This recipe makes 4 servings. Nutrition Information Calories: 220 Total Fat:11 g. Mix vinegar, sugar, water, butter, and salt together in a saucepan; bring to a boil.

Cook and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture is bubbling, about 1 minute. This is a beautiful tossed salad with spinach, romaine, and mandarin oranges with a sweet, sour, slightly spicy dressing. To top it all off, glazed sliced almonds. I first made this in culinary school, and I have made it many times. It is great for entertaining.

The mandarin oranges’ color just pops against the greens. Time includes chill time for the dressing. FOR THE SALAD: 2 bags Baby Spinach, 6 Ounce Bags 1 whole Red Onion, Thinly Sliced 2 cans Mandarin Oranges, Drained (11 Ounce Cans). In large bowl, combine spinach, celery and green onions. Just before serving, add almonds and orange segments.

Toss gently. Pour dressing over salad and toss. P.S.I always double the amount of almonds because they really add a wonderful flavour to the saladand because some mysteriously disappear before they make it to the salad!In a skillet, cook and stir the almonds and sugar over medium heat until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Spread on foil to cool completely.

  • There are so many weight loss methods, Keto, Intermittent fasting, Extended fasting, just do regular exercise like ffs. So many options yet many are so vastly different and tell you to do the exact opposite of what the others say, Eat bacon and REAL FATS, don’t eat berries or bananas, NVM EAT BANANAS DON’T EAT BACON or butter or literally anything, How about I just drink a bottle of Wine and stick the cork up my A$$, Only eat every second day and start with lunch only no breakfast for the first little bit, then don’t eat on the first day period. There another method created lol.

  • I changed the 180 to 200 cause my oven doesn’t go that low but the chicken came out still pink after the 25 minutes… still great lunch ideas either way

  • The first salad tastes like shit so don’t really try it. The second one is fried chicken and buffalo sauce and if you know anything about being healthy, it’s not that. The third one tastes good without strawberries like why did you have to put strawberries buzzfeed tf? And for the late one… it’s good.

  • Why does everything healthy I look for has avocado in it? I don’t have avocado where I live. Even if I find it, it would cost me fortune.

  • the complaints about it not being healthy are annoying. You obviously don’t have to strictly follow each step. And the first salad was a quick sear.  It looks delicious. It was not fried. Bake it, poach it, and shut up. OR… do your own recipes.

  • Calorie counts are pretty disingenuous you prepare one serving of chicken but two or three servings of dressing, and don’t specify how much to use. If you used all of the dressing in any of those recipes you’d have to tack on an extra 200+ calories.

  • The most important thing I like on Buzzfeed tasty videos is their background music’s….The background music’s those are used in their videos are so catchy and good to listen… I wish they would make a playlist of their BGM’s ���������� And the most irritating thing of their cooking is using spinach in every single recipe….I guess if they can they would add spinach in desert dishes too ����������

  • I didn’t see anything that I’d truly love so I made my own recipe:
    Chickpea,pepper, shredded carrot, paprika olive oil (bake)
    Add to iceberg lettuce,corn and caramelised onions
    Finally add a tiny bit of hummus

  • Man I never learn, I always end up reading the comments and it always kills the mood, even more on salads/health/diet videos. If you don’t like it just don’t click on the damn videos, watch it, then comment on it. I was happily looking at ideas for salads that aren’t depressing tasteless wastes, and then you get all the vegans and misinformed health “experts” pushing their ideas and views on you. Ugh.

  • Loved this salad I sub canned mandarin for fresh I sub white sugar with the nuts for raw brown sugar I sub the sugar in the dressing for honey I also added regular mustard with the dry not too much the thing is the honey and the mustard causes the dressing to stay together and I used grape seed oil or a very light extra virgin olive oil But I did this after I tired your version and loved it

    Well, I’m making your ” not your mamma’s potato salad, the spinach salad and my husbands ” get out of town chicken salad. Were having our wonderful neighbors from 30 years ago over for lunch. Our boys were great buds at age 6 and 8. Now in their late 30’s 40’s!
    I love spicy food, and your recipe’s really hit the mark!

    I’m cleaning like you do, but it does take time to get it down. I forget things I should clean, but I usually go back and do it. I think of it as the ” star of the week”! Kitchen, then bathrooms or whoever is up for detailed cleaning.
    It’s amazing with having my company there is very little extra to do. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

    Makdoones (the greeny thing)
    Feta cheese
    A bit of olives
    You can dress it with lemon too!

  • Great recipe!  We love ranch dressing, but I was looking for a replacement for the bottled kind because of all the additives.  I did not have any onion powder, so I subbed dried chives and it was so good!

  • Salads look great. But in most of the videos I’ve seen, the amount of olive oil used to cook (on fire!) Is too high. It is known that olive oil should be used in the kitchen for cold cooking! otherwise in the presence of heat, it becomes extremely unhealthy! and leaving aside this aspect, too much oil! the salad should be a kind of light, not with 999 kilo of oil! just saying……the same thing I noticed when it comes to cheese, chedar, mozarella. I mean, they’re very fat foods. They are tasty and I can not remove them from my own diet, but fat… the bad kind of fat!

  • I use a little more than a trickle:). I usually serve the salad with the dressing on it and leave the extra dressing on the side in case someone wants more of it. This recipe makes a lot of dressing so if you are making a big salad there will be plenty of dressing. Your Christmas dinner sounds so good! Thanks for watching!
