  • Avocado, beetroot, sweet potato, kiwi, coconut, walnut, almond, Brazil nut, cabbage, basil, coriander, radish, carrot, sesame seeds, rice, onions, potato, are all good

  • Tip eat bananas when they are brown to blackish they have more cancer fighting agents. And bit sweeter, if you dont like the taste of bananas wait til they are brown blackish in color. The only way i will eat them. I learned to sneak in avcado into almost everything i make. They do make good chocolate frosting!
Also tumeric only works if mix3d with peppercorn and in large amounts

  • You should also put a list of the foods in the description so in case people wanna write some down at the end they dont have to go back threw the video.

  • Liver! How could you miss that? It’s loaded with all the iron and all the b12 you could ever need. It makes a great tasty meal sliced with bacon and onions and too many people give it to the pets. It’s the best part of the animal.

  • Ive never been a huge vegetable fan so in order to try and get my daily dosage ive been making green smoothies. Ive since seen some research stating you destroy the nutrients by blending. Any thoughts on green smoothies? I also like ginger and turmeric roots for my personal superfood list.

  • 1. Take 10-15 carrots + 1 red beet and make a juice. Nitric oxide production for energy.
    2. 1 glass of milk 2% + pinch of cardamon + pinch of black pepper + 15 almonds = mix it in blender and drink it for energy boost.
    3. Cooking an organ like liver and eating it this has B12 and proteins for energy.
    3. Take a bagel and spread avocado(good fat) on it and put smoked Salomon on top and add some spice.Scramble some eggs and eat it together. Eggs give you proteins and b vitamins.

  • If it’s animal organs ur after, u can’t miss with hot dogs, sausage, or anything from the pet food aisles.. Then there’s always road kill for the bargain hunter. Tbh i don’t wanna live a long life of eating the slimy organs of critters, tho Ik any benefits are negated by the toxins.. Pretty gross man..

  • The first minute of this video is flat out great! I’ve always hated the term “superfood” and you stated the problems with this buzzword quite nicely. I also enjoyed the rest of the video as well great info overall. I love how you put videos together.

  • Mussels filter out plastics from the ocean and probably mercury too, so, hmmmmm
I still eat kiwis everyday since I first saw the video. And it really does help to keep you healthy, it´s amazing.

  • Something that you only hinted on when talking about taste is sugar content, do some of these taste better because sweeteners are used and if so what are the sweetness? I am a diabetic so it is important to know if these products are diabetic friendly, yes I know, I can research the ingredient list.
I just read a review on Amazon for MacroLife macro Greens and I quote “Unfortunately, this powder blend tastes like candy. If you read the Nutritional Facts label, it says that one measuring scoop (9.4 g) contains 2g of sugar. That’s about 21%. That means that there are about 120 g of sugar in the 567 g container. How is this possible?” This is a bit confusing to me because on the Macrolife website they claim that stevia is used as a sweetener, thus, I assume that any natural sugar content must come from the plants that are used. Natural sugar is still sugar so in other words Macro greens would not be diabetic friendly because it has high sugar content? I am asking, not stating a fact.

  • Kale
    Bok choy
    Chia seeds
    Black garlic
    Cocoa powder
    Sweet potato
    Moringa oliferria

  • What do you recommend for sea sickness? Watching your arms and head move around like you’re having a fit made me nauseous. Thanks for getting to the punchline upfront so we don’t have to sit through the whole video.

  • blueberries, oats, eggs, beans, kale, spinach and apple is pretty normal in my eating habits 😉 watermelon, salmon and avocado especially is very good, so i maybe need to invest in that 😉

  • What? You are eating the skin of kiwi fruit? If I did that I would be straight down to a&e. I can’t eat kiwi at all without it puffing up my lips and throat, but always assumed that somehow the hairs of the skin were causing it, even when I do my best to only eat the fruit. Now I am thinking I am just allergic.

  • Jeff, I urge you to compare the nutritional values of a Guava to Kiwi. I love them both but in terms of nutritional content of vitamin C, Guava kicks Kiwi’s ass by a long margin

  • My favourite superfood from the above is apple. Unfortunately, I don’t eat superfoods everyday. After watching of this video, I will try.

  • Comparing blueberries to other berries or kale to cabbage and brussel sprouts does absolutely nothing to show that the superfood claim is unsubstantiated.

What it does is say that other berries, cabbage, and brussel sprouts could also be superfoods.

  • I am weird. Proof: I love broccoli
But, CHERRIES? I take about half an hour to an hour to sleep each day. So when I complain I’m tired and someone asks, “When did you got to bed?”, I say 10:00, but I in fact sleep at 10:30/ 11:00.
I don’t think I drink enough, in my opinion, and I get headaches EVERY week (usually on Monday), ever since year 3, when I began my swimming classes. These ended in Year four, but years later, I still get headaches.
U know I think I should try all these foods, and see what happens, I would love to do that! Maybe not know but in the future….

  • Strawberries, Raspberries and blackberries aren’t berries.
yet you had all tree of them on at 1:18 referencing them as ”other berries” comparing them to blueberries.
    Just trying to help.

  • LOVE this video! My migraines reduced from once a month 4 days long to once a year! My colds went from 10 days several times a year to once a year for 3 days. I haven’t thrown up in 4 years because I’ve had no stomach bugs/flu in that long. I used to get a stomach bug/flu every YEAR (I’m a teacher) and also get a flu shot. Now, no flu shot either! <3

  • Wait.. No spinach, or quinoa.. wow.. that’s all I eat I’m gonna try to make the switch to kale. I already buy walnuts and blueberries once a week

  • Here it is:
    1. Cabbage
    2. Blueberries
    3. Oats
    4. Green Tea
    5. Eggs
    6. Beans
    7. Broccoli
    8. Salmon
    9. Avocado
    10. Chia seeds
    11. Watermelon
    12. Ginger
    13. Soy
    14. Spinach
    15. Kale
    16. Apple
    17. Quinoa

  • Sautee some muscles in a garlic and blueberry pure sauce wilit in some fresh spinach and shredded kale then for some crunch and acidity to cut the sweetness top with thin strips of dehydrated kiwi.

  • Too bad I can’t trust this. I see this as a big promo for Athletic Greens, because that’s where the best money is. Why would you include Green Vibrance and digestive Vibrance, but not Maximum Vibrance, which is the best they have to offer?

  • I eat at least 12 of these foods that’s on the list on a consistent basis. I stopped drinking process juices five years ago. I make my own watermelon, apple, and orange juice. I have a half glass of watermelon, blueberry, strawberry, apple juice everyday. My salad or cooked vegetables usually consist of: Beets, broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, purple cabbage, red, or orange bell peppers, spinach, and cauliflower. The combination of these vegetables in a salad are delicious. Make your on salad dressing of olive oil, honey, and lemon juice to bring out the flavors of the salad. Stir fry at least three of these vegetables together for the suggested daily veggie intake. This is an old childhood rhyme that’s true beans, beans are good for your heart. Pinto beans, lentils, brown rice, wheat pasta will complete your carbohydrate intake.

  • Buy veggies, kale, cucumber, carrot, parsley, slice of lemon, slice of lime, piece of ginger, spinach, half cup blueberries, blend enjoy save money!

  • 1. Oats are a problem, at least in the US, because EVERY oats manufacturer has been found to have cancer-causing glyphosates in their grains. So if you don’t mind a little extra cancer in the morning, have oats imported.
    2. Soy is great if you want to jack your estrogen through the roof, causing low teststosterone in men, and various cancers in women. Soy, along with sugar and alcohol, is one of the 3 things you should be removing from your diet.

  • Bananas are good then? I’ve spent my whole life being told that bananas have way too much sugar in them, are super bad for you; and basically destroys you from the inside.. I hate the people around me sometimes.:/

  • Do you have a favourite superfood? How many of these foods are a part of your daily diet? If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like and share it with your friends!

  • Could you possible review “Man Greens” it’s apparently made with mans hormones in mind.

  • At start i found this video very good and with reliable information. Till i did some research on the products themselves. You are recommending a product that contains lead. At least read the labels of your sponsors before recommending them please.

  • Looks like that antioxidants list is something normal that is eaten in Croatia. Aroina is so popular with farmers that it is not even that expensive. Looks like I am doing some yard work in Spring

  • Easily the best superfood is generally high quality organ meats >.< like grass fed beef liver or cod liver (not the oil the whole liver) although scallops are good for sure. I eat a lot of salad but if your sensitive to oxilates or have had kidney stones before avoid spinach.

  • First off berries? Nuts? Eggs? That’s food, that’s what our ancestors ate for millennia you don’t need another word for it like “superfood”, that concept is totally made up. Secondly, humans evolved shorter intestines and therefore larger brains because of our accent from eating leafy greens which are plentiful but low in nutrients. Third, avocado, almonds, salmon, strawberries, seaweed, blueberries and olives are all cash crops of California and the only other thing besides tourism and IT keeping California’s economy together, not to mention the fact that everybody in California is a sleazy scumbag salesman capable of creating lies like “superfoods”. They get hellish landslides, floods and fires in California and though the sun is good there it is difficult to maintain profits as a farmer. Farmers are mostly rich scumbag people in case anyone doesn’t know that they probably have more money than most people’s elderly parents at least and Californians have always historically made money by attracting people there with promises of wealth and then taking what they brought so don’t think for a second that it’s not in the Californian culture to rip off a bunch of wannabes and sell them vegetables that aren’t that great for 10x the price, that’s just the California way of life. Don’t listen to this garbage you really just need to focus on getting fats in the morning drink coffee for your “superfood” vitamins because it has almost all of them and supplement by snacking on delicious berries and nuts throughout the day. Eat meat at lunch with less carbs than breakfast and tasty veggies for dinner with as much meat as you have exercised that day and therefore need and skip carbs entirely actually leaving your stomach about half full so that you aren’t digesting food just to sleep then make up for it with that nice starchy sweet breakfast again. Do this and you will easily approach the 90-year cliff, yes, there is a cliff you don’t live forever if you eat vegetables you just eat more fiber you are generally healthier and therefore slightly more likely not to die before the 90 year cliff. What I’m saying is that the foods you really need are all really delicious and pleasurable to eat that’s because your body tastes based on what it knows it needs like fats which is where energy comes from not water not fiber not vitamins. If you want to be thin all you really have to do is stop worrying so much about being full and you can literally eat whatever the fuck you want just stop trying to achieve comfort from food it’s not going to make you more comfortable it’s going to make you fat your body does that because it thinks you are preparing for winter that’s why it gets stored it’s not because being fat is a sad mean trick of life it’s just about eating at the right time and completely using the energy. All the foods that you can just find in the world are full of these amino acids it’s not complicated because everything that you can eat is made out of amino acids it’s just when you cook and bleach it into little squares of food it has lost a lot of them so honestly the trick to living as long as you can is to stop having so much anxiety just enjoy your life and let go of the need to feel full let go of the uselessness of that let go of the need to have comfort because you don’t need it, comfort is just doing something you have grown accustomed to it’s not a sign that things are going well or something worth achieving like most people think it is it’s really the opposite. Adversity creates strength comfort creates weakness

  • this video just popped up on my newsfeed decided to watch as im starting to get into healthy foods. its good to know what the foods can help with and im plannning on buying all the ingredients next week:)

  • Kale is vile, liver is awful (and offal) pumpkin? Get stuffed. Broccoli.. nope. Sweet potato is nasty. Cranberry is that tart your eyes close shut with yurrrkkkk! Seeds? Nope. I can do wholemeal bread, and no alcohol or cigarettes…

  • Steel cut oats, flax meal, brocoli, pistachios, air popped popcorn, boiled eggs, apple, nut butter, and yes, Kiwi, garlic cloves, spinach, mussels and scallops. steaks, fish, or chicken for dinner. Count Macros. That is my diet.

  • Hello Jeff. I know this video is old. But might I suggest looking into Moringa oleifera as a “superfood”. It meets and exceeds many of the nutritional requirements you have cited for these other “superfoods”

  • You are trying to put the vast intelligence of the body in the framework of knowledge, (scientifically proven) which is so blatantly absurd. What and how much body needs, body knows how and from where to obtain it. Hunger has never been an issue for this body. It’s the greed to obtain so much as to save for future, but this physical organism lives moment to moment. It has not future, it’s one with time. You would be surprised to know how little body needs, and rest goes in making diseases. We aren’t dying of hunger, we are dying of diseases. It’s our superficiality over the intelligence of body that has given rise to all these havoc, be it of health or of environment, that we are confronting today because we ‘think’ that we are above and beyond Nature, and therein lie the excruciating fallacy. We are no bigger than an ant nor any smaller than sun. We all Exist in perfect harmony, interdependent. Stop laboring under the illusion of a self. There is no beyond, there IS. Death to knowledge!

  • Just watch where your salmon comes from. Some farmed salmon from certain other countries are toxic as a result of the water they’re kept in and the foods they’re fed.

  • I eat most of these foods. I can’t eat a lot of soy because I was born without a thyroid gland and it messes up my thyroid levels.

  • No eggs for me. So much cholesterol. I agree with the rest. Only wild caught salmon tho. Beware of mercury in fish! Eating a more plantbased diet is the way to go!

  • Why arent there more undressed sexy men in this video? All I see are women in this manner. Why is that even necessary? Great video though!

  • You can bet this is done with the minimal of testing. We who work with herb have our own records and they are more complete than those used by drug companies. Contact the the herbal companies directly and get the truth.

  • I was sold on Athletic Greens until I saw their price tag, now I’m trying to figure out what vegetables I need to start stuffing down my throat.

  • My favorite superfood is actually water. Cleanses the system. So many health benefits. Staying hydrated is essential to skin health as well, keeps a youthful-looking appearance. In this beauty-focused culture, you would think we would be on top of something like that. Almost none of my millennial friends drink straight water, even though I always offer it when they visit. It’s all about sodas, energy drinks, tea, coffee, etc. While all of those contain water, of course, the other ingredients ruin it, with the possible exception of tea. Kind of like buttering your broccoli. Broccoli is great, but if you butter it, you may be doing more harm than good. Speaking of, broccoli may be my number 2 superfood. I am one of the rare ones who actually likes the taste of broccoli. Almost always have some in my house. Even grew some in my garden last year. Bok choi I admittedly should have more of. I’m a little surprised mercury-free fish oil was not on this list, but that may technically be a mineral, not an actual food.

  • What made the liver healthy? The vegan diet. My whole family is raw vegan i was born vegan, ive never experienced what its like to be sick or have the flu, looks nasty.

  • When in season three to four medium blue berry plants can provide a single person with enough blueberries so u can eat the fuck outta them

  • a video on how to choose the omeg3 pills would be nice. It has been said that a “transparent pill” is a sign of bzd quality because the light oxidate the fish oil… so instead of reducing the oxidation, it increases….

  • Moringa is among one of the best superfoods & it helps in malnutrition.
We are working with farmers of Rajkot, Gujarat, India. We produce moringa near the forest region of Gir. We research the effect of Moringa in our lives. Please feel free to know about moringa.

  • Hi Michael, please give my regards to Tristan!
I use fresh Ginger Root to help my sleep when I have trouble getting to sleep.
In a small sauce pan add milk and a few slices of fresh Ginger Root over medium heat till milk becomes nice and hot. Pour into your favorite mug sweeten with honey and enjoy. You’ll sleep like a baby. Oh, no need to peel the Ginger Root.
    Thank you Michael for sharing!

  • Huh, I had always heard the opposite about #1.
The stuff I’ve read/seen said that filter organs (liver, kidneys, lung) were full of toxins and such. Weird

  • I eat most of the foods you have included. The only 2 I do not eat are quinoa and watermelon, but will now include. I also only eat vegetables and fruits for Lent until Easter. You did not mention nuts. What about okra, sweet potatoes and coconut? They are also superfoods.

  • #1 shows a plate full of raw liver. I didn’t know you could eat it raw. I know it is best to leave it pink in the middle, otherwise it is so dry you will never get done chewing it.

  • I’m cautious on products that doesnt label the percentage of whatever it contains, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the companies “fairy dust” their products. A pinch of this in a container is useless.

  • Try drinking an aperitif (small glass) of port wine with a side of walnuts & dark chocolate. It’s delicious & ALL of it’s good for you!

  • YOU FORGOT STINGING NETTLE!! stinging nettles are better than all the things on this list! It’s a cure all food and can litteraly help all aspects of your body

  • Whenever someone says “I don’t like water” I don’t care if it means they just perfer soda or something, I am this | | close to punching them in the face. Water is the best thing ever, and I live in a desert, so it’s important to stay hydrated.
If you live somewhere that’s pretty humid, you can probably get a small glass of water form the air (that’s how it works, right?) but when it’s super hot and dry, you better have 2 bottles of water.

  • there is that chinese guy who lived to 256 years who ve eaten mostly goji berries. That said, most super foods are not that cause of nutrient bioavaibility, antinutrients, your body current state, intestinal health and hormonal disrupting substances present in the food.

  • I take Green Vibrance if the taste is important to you than this is not your drink BUT it as a lot of good quality things I feel more alive when I take it. I mix it with Apple Juice.

  • There are real scientific studies coming out now that leaning toward kale being not so good for us. I live in the wild Maine blueberry State and eat blueberries nearly every day. They make the most beautiful colored protein shakes smoothie whatever you want to call it. People get 8 to 10 glasses of water per day in the food that you eat if you eat 3 meals a day. Other drinks that are water-based also count. If list25 once my credentials I will be happy to provide them. Chia seeds can also be dangerous. You can make black garlic at home quite easily. I make kimchi and sour pickles and sauerkraut I’m black guy like I ferment a lot. You can also have vitamin A overdose. I learned overseas especially Morocco how to eat pumpkin in Savory dishes and I continue to do it now. Get a little package of dried wakame if you like me so soup rehydrated and put a piece in sliced up. I’m vegan and we all use nutritional yeast, Lots. Pound 4 pound sweet potatoes of the most nutritious item in the produce section. You can purchase Moringa powder if you’re up north like I am.

  • There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can eat liver, and those who not only cannot eat it, but who would much rather not be in the same room with it. Personally, I find it to be among the most disgusting things in life. That and hemorrhoids.

  • Liver is very bad for me. Every time I have it, it comes right back up.
Anyone know where Kimchi would fit on this list if it kept going?

  • What papers suggest that antioxidants come from fruits work and supplements don’t?

Because that claim makes no biochemical sense. Same compound, expect same effect, the source doesn’t really matter.

And blueberries, for instance, are made primarily of water. You need to eat a (really) LOT of it to get a decent amount of resveratrol or even vitamin C. You can have more luck with juice, or even wine.

  • Reported for false advertising.

I ate a banana and looked at myself in the mirror and I don’t have the body of the guy in the thumbnail.

  • This guy looooves to do videos but never answers your questions…oh…and if you look he’s done at least 3 other videos promoting Athletic Greens.

  • Thanks for the advice on broccoli with lemon, garlic and coconut oil. Super tasteful! I also have sweet potatoes on with coconut oil. I’ll probably be able to fly later, so I’m gonna run out and buy a red cape real quick.
