How to Make Avocado Toast 10 WAYS!

Video taken from the channel: HealthNut Nutrition

Roast until tomatoes begin to soften, about 10 minutes; flip and roast until tomatoes are very tender, another 10 minutes. In a small bowl, use the back of a fork to lightly mash avocado and lemon juice. Spread evenly over toast.

Top with feta, poached eggs and a sprinkling of dukkah. Serve immediately alongside roasted tomatoes. Serves 1. And so, this open-faced egg and avocado sandwich was born! We like it so much that it’s still one of our favorites post-lockdown.

Supplies: Makes 1 sandwich. Ingredients: Slice of sourdough bread ; 1/2 ripe avocado ; 1-2 tsp cooking oil (I like olive oil for the health benefits.) 2 eggs ; A handful of cherry or plum tomatoes, halved. Enter our Open-Faced Egg & Avocado Sandwich!

It’s a tasty twist on an egg salad and includes avocado, onion, celery, tomato and arugula on a slice of whole wheat bread, plus a protein-packed hard-boiled egg. It’s delicious and satisfying and couldn’t be easier to. minutes Make this bright and healthy avocado open-faced sandwich layered with creamy ricotta cheese, crispy radishes topped with a poached egg, sunflower seeds and fragrant basil.

Lightly drizzled white balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil will make it the sandwich go down even easier. Prepare bread in a toaster to desired crispiness. In a pan, fry an egg sunny side up. Assemble the toast by spreading avocado on the toast, then the tomatoes and topping everything with the egg.

2 slices multigrain bread, toasted. 2 teaspoons butter. 1/2 medium ripe avocado, peeled and thinly sliced. 4 thin slices tomato. 2 thin slices red onion.

2 large eggs. 1/8 teaspoon seasoned salt. 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese. 2 bacon.

Bring to a boil, remove from heat and cover. For soft boiled, remove the egg and put in cold water at 1 1/2 to 2 minute mark. Remove at 2 1/2 minutes for a more cooked egg.

Note: you can use a pre-cooked egg, but the warm egg on this really adds to the enjoyment of this sandwich. While the egg is cooking, spread burrata on the ciabatta toast. Step 1 In a small bowl, mash avocado and stir in garlic salt. Spread onto a slice of toasted whole-grain bread and top with tomato slices. To build: Top each slice of bread with some of the ricotta mixture, 2 slices avocado, 3 slices tomato and some shallots, sunflower seeds and lemon salt to finish.

Sprinkle with a dash of salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside. Toast slices of bread, spread mashed avocado on each slice, along with tomatoes and eggs whites.

Sprinkle sea salt and pepper and drizzle with a bit of hot sauce if that’s your thing. Enjoy!

  • That man has strong lungs! I’m Mexican, when my mom would cook anything with Chile de Arbol she’d have the whole house coughing

  • I mash my avocado up with garlic salt, sea salt, black pepper, ground mustard, chili flakes, and paprika and top my toast with some spinach, bacon, tomato, and fried egg then I drizzle with siracha

  • Just made this after watching it for the third time since I finally had some tomatoes and couldn’t take it anymore!! I did a little lemon juice in the pan too, with Muenster cheese, and a little spinach on the bread and let it all melt in together perfect midnight snack

  • the best avocado toast recipe
    toast your bread
take and avocado, pit and mash
and lemon/lime, salt, pepper, red chili flakes
    and sriracha on top

  • I love this! It reminds me of a caprese sandwich but instead of mozzarella you used cheddar. I should definitely try this out, especially since I just bought cherry tomatoes!

  • The first two are just not my cup of tea but the rest look mouth watering! I just don’t like fruits in my savory foods. Well, avocado is TECHNICALLY a fruit but you know what I mean. Actually Kylie Jenner’s one doesn’t look all that good either. I’m all about the street corn, sushi, and margharita. Love the Everything Bagel one too! The Mediterranean looks AMAZING!!

  • A recipe that I like if anybody wants some ideas for a breakfast sandwich: bread (obviously toasted), 1/2-1 avocado spread on the toast (I recommend 1/2) Eggs cooked any way you want, diced potatoes cooked in a little bit of oil (one smaller potato or a half if it’s a bigger potato), and tomato slices.

  • My favourite Avo-Toast is toasted sourdough bread, mashed avocado with salt and lemon, smoked salmon, one fried egg (with a runny yolk), black pepper and paprika on top. Delicious!!

  • Did she just suggest to remove the tip of the avocado IN the grocery store to check on optimal ripeness? Ma’am.. What if it isn’t ripe? You gonna put it back already tampered? the NERVE! I like these recipes though:-/

  • Didn’t think this recipe would be so yummy. I used your recipe-added some grated parm cheese and siracha sauce to tomato on top. Amazing good. Thanks Laura.

  • How I do avocado toast:
Take a slice of sourdough bread, cut it in half and toast it.
Then, while it’s in the toaster, grab olive oil out of your pantry, grab your avocado, and some salt, and this lemony spice I love called tajin. (Idk how to spell it. )
When your toast is done, pour some olive oil on, spread the avocado on, and sprinkle on some salt and tajin.
I promise you it’s delicious. Very simple, but delicious.

  • i love avo toast so much that i don’t have a recipe really i just make it with whatever i have but is it just me who doesn’t smash the avocado i just slice it?

  • Laura, I love you and all your recipes, so this one is no exception; however, the toast does not require butter. Avocado toast is supposedly a healthy alternative to butter!! LOL BTW love the poached egg trick, thanks bunches for sharing that:) Cook on crazy girl!!

  • My random avocado toast which tasted AMAZING!!: -Chiatoast, chia bread, some kind of protein bread. -half Avocado chili Tzaziki. -mini cucumber. -Pepper, Salt, Rosmarin. -lin seed and chia seeds!!!!! Trust me this is amazing

  • Bring the water to a a boil, turn off the heat and drop the eggs, cover and wait. No need for vinegar and no need for the one minute before turning off the heat. Overly complicated…

  • We were looking for what to do with our ripened avocados. Thank you for these brilliant ideas. Now, we can salvage the avocados and prep something good and healthy for our mom as well.
Sending love from the Philippines. ❤

  • I make my avocado toast like this!
    Toast plain/whole wheat bread
Spread avocado on it with salt and pepper
Put a fried egg on it
I sometimes put a tomato on it too
I put some cheese on it
To finish it up I put some lemon and sprinkle salt of it!

  • I fart on my food why have you neglected this vital step For the love of god please put some more effort into your cooking.

Other than that, Subbed and thumbed, couldn’t ask for more even if I wanted it.

  • I loved the Sushi & the Kylie! Be trying both! Love love addicted to avacado toast.
My recipe simply take whole wheat gluten free bread, mix mashed up avacado Es w fresh lemon juice…then add freshly cut chives.
    Yummy.
My tummy has IBS I cannot tolerate onions nor garlic, though love them,

  • I find that if you add a bit of olive oil to the avocado, it spreads more easily so the butter isn’t necessary (which is perfect for vegans)

  • After viewing this vid and the potato pancake vid, then viewing her picture, I wanna buy this woman a house and settle down…..man Im hungry……

  • Thank you. I am so tired of people cooking eggs at 900 degrees and in 10 seconds.
Attention people your home should not smell of eggs 2 hours later.

  • I love that I can watch your videos on mute while my baby sleeps and still understand everything. Your videos are also very cathartic to watch thanks alot

  • To the untrained, this sandwich looks fine. Good, even. However, I refuse to believe the tomatoes didn’t soggy up the bread. You never removed the seeds whose plasma holds most of the water in the tomato. Amateur work.

  • I just found your Videos, I really appreciate even though music’s playing the whole time without explanation you still give very slow explanations and get measurements. 2up and I can’t wait to try.

  • I toasted bread and spread on some Country Crock butter and then spread on avocado. The toast was pretty good. Next time I may add a boiled egg or maybe a poached egg. I like the toast that you added the feta cheese on.

  • Lol worst way ive seen to do this
    1) your eggs would be cold by the time you start eating.
    2) burn marks on tomatoes (literally black ashy crisps on them too) and pan.
    3) just turn the tomatoes over in the pan so you dont have to individually smush them later on your bread.

  • As I was watching this I was thinking wow, I think this is the first bon appetit video where I could make the thing in real time
cuts to trip to Michigan oh, that’s why

  • Lol sooo..the show is called “it’s alive” when literally the only thing “alive” for this episode was the fact that the tomatoes were fresh aka they were alive

  • Oh my gosh! Had the Margarita Avocado Toast (4 times)! Amazing! Looking for the balsamic glaze recipe here…. Don’t see it yet!:) Please help!

  • 10:59 Sohla, he’s not bullshitting. Flour is EXTREMELY flammable when it is dispersed into the air, and flour mill explosions have been known to happen.

  • Chris Morocco is the opposite of Brad Leone in terms of personality. Brad’s just a warm fuzzy bear, lights the whole place up, reminds me of all my favorite people.

  • I like learning about the indoor farms. The controlled enviroment is suppose to be able to yield more and fresher tasting food all year.

  • It’s easier to mash the avocado into a chunky puree and put it into a handmade piping bag, and squeeze it over your sandwich. That’s what I always do. Avocados are difficult to slice and handle because they are so soft.

  • I love literally everything about this video. The recipe. The editing. No blabbering. Straight to the point. Clear directions. Just beautiful. Instant subscribe. Seriously looking forward to watching this again when I make this recipe. Thank you for posting this.

  • When Brad uses his bare fingers to mix around hot food instead of a spatula is the highest anxiety.
    As Jenna would say..
    “I’m a vIRGOOO”

  • I love this series so much! It’s so well put together. It’s also really helped me along my journey to be a better cook! I just love it so much!

  • I tried poaching the eggs your way… I tried 2 times… but sorry to say..it didn’t work both the time and also you never showed taking the eggs out when the 5 minutes were over.. it would have been more believable if you would have showed that part also… but now I can’t help saying, that it could have been someone else who poached those eggs so beautifully…sorry!!

  • Trying this tonight. Thanks! I don’t have green onions and red bell pepper so I’ll substitute those for red onions and mushrooms. I’m stoked!!!

  • Amazing. I always add a TBSP of sour cream to the eggs right at the end, and whip em’ around. Gives off that extra “Umph!”; the tang pushes it over the top for me:) AMAZING, SAM!

  • So… lemme get this straight, you toast the bread, put avocado on it, and put a poached egg on top.
Wo. I think I have done this about 100 times already! Didnt really consider it a “recipe”

  • i love these videos you put out!! i love grilled cheese sandwich but what u have done thus far, i’m really going to try some of what you have made:) way to go Sam:) and i have subscribe your channel too:)

  • Dope videos dude I just found your channel and am really digging these recipes. I’m ’bout to go make some SLOW scrambled eggs. Holla!

  • Can I just say, that your recipes, youtube videos, live casts etc. has really changed my relationship with my family and my stress levels. My fam enjoys every thing I make of yours and we actually sit and talk about the recipes which means less phone time more fam time. Thank you. The great unifier.

  • Toast your bread, I like potato bread.
1 whole avocado mashed with salt, Meyer lemon, and oil to blend.
Top that with crab (canned works fine)
    Little bit of sriracha
    Very good flavor profile

  • I had so much fun watchin’ this special mention the video edit guy/script guy/whoever it may concern guy. And of course, Brad is so funny dude.

  • I’ve been wanted to have this beautiful smashed avo with poached eggs since I left Sydney 3months ago. I finally can make this in tomorrow moring. Thanks for sharing this recipe❤️❤️❤️

  • Love the videos and love cooking eggs this way but if you’re gonna slow down parts of the vid, add music or something. It’s crazy distracting and motion sickness inducing to have Sam talking normally throughout while portions of the video slow down. Just saying.

  • I got to get some.olive oil,I been using canola oil,but oil test good, canola can handle a lot of heat, great recipe my favorite video too

  • A nice recipe ruined by the absolute rubbish pseudoscience she spouted. She even talked or caramelising the edges of the eggs. Caramelising by definition involves sugars which are not present in eggs or olive oil (though they are present in tomatoes). The rest was so made up I don’t even think she used a correct term so won’t bother refuting it.

Just make nice food and stop lying about the rest love.

  • Congratulations for all the avocado toast proposals! only one thing though… the “margarita toast” should be “Margherita toast” the margarita It’s another thing… the Italians will thank you. I forgot, greetings from Italy!!

  • Looks good but I’m pretty sure I could’ve figured this one out without a video! (…never saw a professional chef set a timer for eggs before…hmmm)

  • How many calories are in one of those would you estimate? I’ve been counting calories for a while, and this looks really yummy to try, and doesn’t look too sinful. ^_^

  • I ended up grilling my bread on a cast iron grill pan with a touch of olive oil and garlic. When that was done I topped it with a tomato slaw (mashed the tomatoes gently with a fork), and then an egg (cooked with a knob of butter, salt/pepper and red pepper flakes. Solid recipe, just went a slightly different direction with it.

  • I had heard how carbohydrate food were correlated to weight gain and generally to abstain from carbs, but had never contemplated using them to lose fat. The number one idea behind the 4 cycle weight-loss solution is to actively train your body to melt fat for energy and not just carbs. It’s built around scientific inquiry into the very high carb eating habits of the Japanese and additionally their remarkable long life expectancy. The evidence suggest that it’s their elevated carb-cycling diet means that could help to remain healthy and balanced into old age with a minimal body mass index (lower incidence of excess weight).Read more here https://truehealthreport.com/4-cycle-fat-loss-fat-burning-diet/

  • frying everything in olive oil will not make the dish more healthy if every single bit of it is fried. But I know, it tastes really good… ))

  • I always get confused trying to reproduce recipes like this because med-high heat will TERRIBLY BURN olive oil on my stove top, so I always end up having to adjust the heat. Is everyone’s med-high different than mine or am I just doing something wrong?

  • Thank you so much for this video!!! I have watched so many videos trying to make poached eggs and they never worked but this worked!!!!! Thank you!!!

  • What’s wrong with a little shot of water in the eggs? I add water all the time to scrambled eggs, about 5 ml per egg, they cook better and aren’t as sticky in cast iron. I never use milk, it changes the taste and not in a good way for me.

  • Laura I used your poached egg method but my egg was hard boiled what do you think I did wrong?, I do have an electric hob maybe I should have moved the pan off the ring I cooked it on as it doesn’t loose heat straight away?

    Sandy
    England

  • Just saying guys this recipe is NOT healthy. It would have been if the bread was whole wheat. Also she put WAY too much salt which is super unhealthy so yeah before you make this keep in mind this isn’t healthy if you use white bread and too much salt.

  • This sounds
logically btw…because many people cook the eggs more and after that they put them in ice to “stop cook” them. Which is really no sense. So in this method you just cook it about a minute but after that you leave them to cook themselves if Im understand this method correctly. Its really the easiest and more logical way. Thanks

  • Sometimes i add garlic and condensed yoghurt to create more creamy texture it goes really well but not for a breakfast thats sure:)

  • Just tried it, it’s quite nice, not had avocado before so didn’t know what to expect taste wise, Pleasantly surprised. Egg cooking technique was brilliant. Thanks for sharing

  • Sour dough is better for you. It’s lower on the glycemic index. I made the most famous sourdough and did videos on the day by day if your interested: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeE89k5o7qktuBOFiS3HnXGaZN45Ss57U

  • This is. Completely off topic but you just look absolutely amazing and gorgeous I looove your hair those brows??? You are goals

  • Tomatoes are out of season in my area, and the store bought ones are crap.  Guess I’ll have to wait til next year to try this one out.

  • Very nice indeed..
Best tip i was given for perfect poached eggs…
One egg in a small glass..cover..30 seconds in microwave. Perfect everytime!

  • Dont have to boil the water and put egg in it?? Also did not tell the temperature of oven for the bread plz do tell both the things thanks

  • I have seen this video in the past, and I cannot even tell you how much I love this for breakfast (or lunch)! So healthy, and delicious a million times over! Thanks Laura!!!

  • Thank you for the recipe
Today I’ve made the eggs and they were so yummi This really is the easiest way to make poached eggs

  • Mashed avocado/ mashed chickpea ratio of choice/ flavours of choice /seasonings/condiments of choice/ super seed farmhouse bread toasted/ enjoy!:)

  • You can’t play porn music with extra virgin olive oil! (Blush!!) But seriously, folks; I wonder if adding smoked salmon would make it better

  • So funny Avacado toast is everywhere. Its such a millennial thing. I was in New York and it is on every breakfast menue. I was at the Baccarat hotel and that had it. But it was way too much it was like guacamole with avacados. Way too much. I still like it though lol

  • your stove seemed a little hot for cooking those eggs.. typically it’s a bad thing if huge bubbles like that are appearing.

but otherwise great recipe, seems like it turned out alright regardless

  • In Tescos, they make that with bacon, turmeric & a bit of red pepper. It’s sooooo delicious & mouth watering. They don’t make the bacon crispy, which makes it extra superb.

  • I made it this morning for brunch it was delish. I used tomato from the garden.a nice thick slice. So good I’m having it tomorrow.
