  • I’m going to be honest and give my perspective as a Brit. I think British boxing is too stiff, british amateur boxing is highly based on technique but it has no rhythm, it has no soul to it and the heavy bases on technique leaves a boxer mentally and physically tired, everything is so robotic. 

    The best boxers use substance and style because the two empower each other, the artistic style works with the substance style but British amateur coaches do not encourage style they only encourage the robotic technique. It leaves the fighter stiff and can never produce a fighter like leonard or a mayweather or a pernel whitaker.

    I think the Americas, both north and south continents and the Caribbean islands understand boxing the best, they’ve developed the most champions because of the mix of style and substance.

  • So I’ve been sparring this guy and Ive been having trouble landing punches on him. He’s got his right hand glued to his face, moves around a lot and parry’s my jab. I get tired “chasing” him around. I’ve been told to go to the body, which I’ve been trying to do with some success but how would I land a shot on the head when he parry’s the jab and moves around? I’ve noticed he looks unbalanced and crosses his feet a lot when he backs up or moves to avoid a shot. I just feel so stiff and tired trying to chase him around and getting my jab parried.

  • Me and my bestfriend have been friends since 3 years, we met online and at the start of our friendship we used to talk regularly and build a connection leading us to be bffs.   • okay so im not sure if anyone will respond to this but if anyone can give me some advice i would really appreciate it. my s/o and i are long distance and we met online, we instantly connected and started dating before school ended. we made a lot of plans about our future and we called almost every night and played games together. they accidentally said to their parents that they have a s/o, but did not mention that we are long distance because they are scared of their reaction because their parents are strict. we broke up before because of distance and we got back together, i really fell for this person and i care about them a lot. recently they have been feeling super down and they have been pretty distant with me. they asked for some space and i am giving them some, i am pretty close friends with their best friend and their best friend said that i might lose them which made me overthink and freak out a little because i really care for them and love them very much. they said that there is a chance but they dont know because they are distancing themselves from me. i recently sent them two paragraphs expressing my worry and that i know that they are overthinking about us and i want to talk about it even though it might be hard i still wanted them to try. i know LDRs are hard and that they require patience and they require communication but i am not sure what to do because what if it all goes bad? i have never felt like this about someone and i just feel very connected to them. i keep overthinking and i am so worried that they will not be safe or that they will leave me, we have not really had many rough patches and i do not want them to give up on this after one rough spot.

  • Great info! �� I usually do the upper back,chest and shoulders in the same workout,which is not ideal i think. Have to separate shoulder workout and maybe take triceps with that.
    Plus i always try to do certain problematic areas in every workout like abs and arms in general
    And some leg movements. Used to do this HST type of method too when i was a bit lighter but i wasnt eating enough.
    now my weight is about 235lb 14 % fat,ive never liked being like too ripped,its just a personal opinion Lol and started eating steaks and chicken n rice like crazy again it really gains good weight real fast ive noticed. Great to hear about The Gym project. Very nice.

  • Hey Jay, we have a question… My buddy and I have been training together since corona virus at my house but since I let him train differently now (more repetitions and drop sets) he has been having a lot of problems with his forearms that are not fast recover enough. Can you advise us what we can do best with this? I think his forearms are overtrained but he is not going to do anything for a week!
