  • I too love the writing the alphabet exercise, been doing it for nearly 50 years when on my feet all day. It’s even kinda fun. I like to lay down on the couch, bed, floor, raise my feet up towards the ceiling, and write big capital letters with my toes. Then I shake my legs and rest my feet on the wall for a couple of minutes. Really gets the blood flowing again, feet and legs feel great.

  • Great video. I would recommend releasing the Fascia on the entire leg below the knee. The Fascia on the calf and shin bone is too tight. This causes restrictions on the movement of the foot. I would hold the lower leg near the ankle and pull up. Hold each position for 3 to 5 min until the fascia releases and then move up to another few inches and hold again until the lower leg is cleared out. The Plantar Fascia will start getting better and the foot was never touched. For fastest results Include the foot exercises and foot massage and also release the fascia on the lower leg and notice a huge improvement. Peace guys.

  • If you’re overweight, then I suggest starting with a keto diet first. Basically fatty meat with veges, as much as you want to get your body habituated to burning fat as a fuel source. If you want to lose excess weight (fat), then you have to train your metabolism to get used to burning fat. No sugar, no bread, no noodles, no carbs AT ALL. Carbs have an interesting metabolic effect since if it’s not used soon, then it get stored as fat.

    Make sure you’re eating enough salt, potassium and magnesium in the diet: critical. All available as supplements. After 2 weeks on the keto diet, you’ll notice that your appetite has diminished and your cravings for random food goes down to zero. Next step is intermittent fasting so have your last meal at 6 pm. Don’t eat until the next day @ 10 am.

    Keep on doing this for a week, then have your first meal at 12 noon (so 18 hours with no food). Just a regular keto meal, enough to make you feel full. 1 week (or 2 weeks) later, have your first meal @ 2 pm. Only eat at 6 if you’re hungry.

    Record how you feel, energy levels, cravings, sleep quality.

    Then attempt a 48 hour fast, and finally a 5 day fast. BUT! You MUST drink lots of water with potassium, magnesium and salt throughout the fast. Usually the first day is easy but day 2 and day 3 can be really tough. If you don’t feel good at any stage, then go back to OMAD fasting. Fasting is not unhealthy if you do it right think about it: our ancestors didn’t have access to supermarkets/refrigeration and going without food for days was not unusual.

  • While it’s important to point out that this video has a lot of incorrect information in it, there is some truth to what’s being said. Your body doesn’t necessarily have a “set point”, because our bodies have no concept of mass and/or weight but it does have a set level of calories that it burns every day. If you eat under that, your body/brain is going to tell you that it’s hungry (like the empty fuel analogy the video uses). The part the video fails to mention, is that there’s nothing forcing you to eat if you’re hungry, you can ignore that feeling for a pretty long period of time. The other factor that influences our hunger is the body’s production of the ‘hunger hormone’, Ghrelin. For efficiencies sake, our body produces ghrelin at similar times throughout the day because it gets used to when we tend to eat. That being said, you can retrain your body to produce more or less ghrelin by eating more or less food. So over time, if you eat less, your body will produce less ghrelin. The video is also correct in saying that as you lose mass (weight, lbs or kgs), your body burns less calories. However, that isn’t so that your body can maintain weight at a ‘set point’, it’s because it requires less energy to move a smaller amount of mass.

  • I had PF many times but not over the past 10 years. I found I could cure it in just a few days by wearing a boot like device while sleeping I picked up from either Footsmart or Amazon for less than $50. It forces your foot to stay prone during the hours the body is healing itself so when you wake up you are not tearing the tissue and re-injuring yourself. The way I have kept myself from getting PF again is by switching to Propet brand shoes. I wear the twilite walkers. Unfortunately, these seem to be a style that is getting discontinued but any Propet shoes that has that exact bottom prevents me from even getting PF. It used to take me months to heal from it but with the boot I learned I could heal really fast. Then switching to Propet twilite walkers meant I have not even suffered from it despite sometimes walking fast on hard city sidewalks all day. long

Only women going through the menopause or people with chronic illness can’t lose fat or struggle to lose fat in a deficit.     Salmon (not so good side!)
    Cherries (high in sugar)
    Potatoes (please avoid potatoes as they are insanely high in fat and can lead to obesity)

    Mangoes (mangoes are sweet and a good light snack, but sometimes they can lead to allergies and make you gain a little weight)
    Fish (little on the bad side, try to have it only once in a while)
    Fruit Juices: (you’re fine with 100% juice, but if it says a low amount of actual juice, try to avoid it!)

  • Exercise regularly is a must for good health but eating less is the key. I have not changed what I eat but I eat a fourth of what I used to eat. 225 to 165. It makes exercising much more enjoyable. I’m 77 yrs old

  • It`d have been much better if I learned this specific diet guide, I would have reduced that 14 pounds years back.   • Yey! Promoting and practicing SELF-CARE is the BEST part for me.
    Especially during this pandemic, during the community quarantine, we indulge ourselves in eating whatever we want thinking that it’s our way of taking care of ourselves and managing the stressful situations surrounding us.
    But it’s not, self-care goes beyond thinking of what’s good for our body, not just with what we wanted to eat or do (like lying on the couch or bed the whole day as a form of rest). Sometimes we find it very difficult to first give self-care thinking that it’s selfishness but IT IS NOT SELFISHNESS.   • Great advice. I piled on 3.5 stone when my spine had its spondy and i was incapacitated and very low. I began by walking to a local park, tricep dips n press ups on park benches, walked between bences, introduced squats, lunges, and low impact star jumps. After a year it helped me lose a bit of weight enough to get in the pool and 10 months later all the weight is off. Hasn’t helped my spine though, but the weight being gone has helped my mental health.

  • Yeah, I too am guilty of jumping from diet plan to others as well, I think that I must have tried every single weight loss method that was available, however in the end not one of them made it easier for me to shed and maintain the weight off.   • Finally! I have a good daily habit! I stretch my plantar fascia, calf muscles, and hamstrings every morning before I get out of my recliner. I can’t sleep lying down since I broke a rib in a hiking accident 5 years ago. I don’t miss my bed one bit!
    Also: PLEASE don’t call a running shoe a “Tennis Shoe”! I know that it’s common vernacular in many parts of the country, but I’m pretty sure that an avid tennis player would suffer a quick and debilitating injury if they tried playing a single competitive game in running shoes (and I sure as heck wouldn’t want to run big road miles regularly in true tennis shoes! Thank you for your (normally excellent, though sometimes contradictory) advice on stretching.

  • Could you maybe ditch the weight loss talk and stick to health? Intentional weight loss only works 2-5% of the time. People often/usually gain back more than they lose, which sets them up for weight cycling and increased poor health outcomes. If you encourage people to eat well and get some exercise, that would be great for everyone.

  • For me, it’s all about portion control, and eating only when hungry. Oh, and FYI, it’s not “less calories”, it’s “fewer calories”. Any noun that you can count individually needs “fewer”. Any noun that you can’t count individually, like “money”, “food”, “health”, etc., needs “less”, when you’re noting a decrease in quantity. I hear this grammatical faux pas over and over again. Commercials are the worst for that! I was an English major in University. Hence, my stickler attitude towards this. Good video, though. Lots of great hints.

  • I like everything u say almost always & that includes this video but I take exception with this whole “take a day off for yourself” comment. Maybe it’s different in Canada but here, the 40 million people in my state are still mostly on lock-down. In California there are basically no gyms. I don’t have church ⛪ which I desperately miss. My “work” has been deemed “Non-essential” since March with no end in sight. Bcuz it’s so hot here (& in most of the non-coastal cities which despite what they show in movies, is actually MOST of my state) I can’t really exercise or even go on a decent walk outside around my neighborhood. I and most people I know would give anything to NOT have a day off. From work, school, church, anything that gives one a sense of purpose. I do agree with all of that sedentary lifestyle should be avoided stuff u say here. It’s just that right now IT’S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO AVOID DOING IT. And I feel like “just relax” or “we live in such a ‘busy busy go-go so fast’ kinda society” or “take a day or two off for yourself” are all already such stale bromides that I might have been tempted to once roll my eyes at, but now they are insufferable. If it weren’t for fasting I would probably now resemble Jabba the Hutt! So at least I have that & I am grateful for all of your invaluable tips on how to do that properly. I have been fasting for longer periods to make up for the lack of activity or gym exercise and also to combat a lot more garbage food that’s been sneaking into my diet since binge watching Netflix is now my main “activity”. Lol I know it’s not your fault but maybe refrain from telling people to take it easy until things return to a time where we ALL have the option of a busy life to quit. ��

I gained 20 lbs because of severe depression from 2015-2016 (after yo-yoing) and I’ve had so much trouble losing it because I go back and forth between bingeing and restricting due to depression. But I’m trying to just be mindful of my emotions and resist that emotional eating impulse and I think I’m finally making progress. Just when I got my Achilles Tendonitis under control with an immobilization boot (wearing it for six weeks, then rehab runs, then short runs), now my Achilles Tendonitis has moved south to Plantar Fasciitis. I had a nasty bout of plantar fasciitis three years ago (went on for months); I could barely walk. Even now, I know it’s still lurking in there. Thank you SO much for explaining that the fascia can start to ‘heal in the night but tear open again’ I never knew that! No wonder it takes forever to heal! Also your advice telling viewers to flex the foot before they get out of bed is the best advice ever! I make sure I do that every morning if I didn’t, I’d be in trouble again.   • It’s about retraining your brain to not think about food often,not revolve your life around it.
    My problem had always been giving into eating impulses.I would think about something good I’d like to eat,go to the store,buy it and binge eat it.
    I found that I could control it by summoning willpower within me to go on a weight loss journey.
    Reaching your goal means eating basically the same way as you did while losing weight,just incorporating alittle more food.
    Once in awhile I will eat a candy bar but I don’t binge on them

  • My hamstring tightens up & I have foot pain but it’s not in the morning. Mine is at night after a day of walking. A lot of times it hurts along the outside as well as the arch. I hope doing these help!

  • You cannot walk or exercise the pounds off. You have to get your food intake under control. Walking/Exercise are great for strength, flexibility and endurance, but unless what you put in your mouth changes don’t count on weight changes.
