Here are five tips to help you stay healthy and fit during your summer travels or next trip away from home. 1) Maintain a healthy diet. ▪ Although room service may be calling your name, you can opt for a healthier version instead of the. And to help with keeping your fitness focus while traveling, here’s 5 Must-do’s to stay fit and healthy while traveling One. Stay active. Here are some tips to help you achieve the goal of staying fit while traveling the world. How to find a good gym while traveling. There are plenty of physical activities you can do without your local gym, but if you are determined to stick to your strength training regime, there are smartphone apps that can help you.

And no one wants that. Here are some quick tips to help you stay fit while traveling: Eat local think global: This was literally the fitness nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar’s motto in her book “Don’t lose your mind, lose your weight”. She couldn’t stress it more. Wherever you travel to, the best way to stay healthy is to eat the local.

If you can, try to go to the market so that you can buy fruits and healthy greens. Or you can bring along dried fruits, and mixed nuts along the way. You can also bring along a full meal the night before your trip. JUMP ROPE. If you want to work out and stay fit while you travel, a jump rope is a brilliant idea.

The trick is not to overthink it. There are plenty of things you can whilst travelling to stay fit without going to the gym. Going on a holiday means taking be a break, but don’t let that be an excuse to turn into a sack of potatoes!

Take a break from your work and other commitments, but take the time to focus on yourself and having a good time. Contrary to what you probably think, staying fit while on the road is actually super easy – as long as you’re properly organized. Of course, there are a few tricks you should know about, so be sure to keep on reading and find out how to remain in good shape while traveling. A big problem with staying fit while traveling is that there is typically no preparation or real commitment before getting in the car.

Make a commitment to yourself before going on your trip that you will uphold your fitness standards. If you skip this step it will be that much easier to slack off. Trying to stay fit while traveling can feel like the odds are stacked against you. If there is a gym, there’s a good chance it’s tucked away in some corner of the hotel and the size of a closet.

On top of that, you have no time or energy. These things are fixable. We’re all busy.

We all struggle for workout ideas when there’s no decent gym around. I’ve been traveling for almost 3 years now and a lot of people have been asking me how I have managed to keep fit despite such a haphazard lifestyle. I usually answer this kind of question with irony and hints of embarrassment (I’m still bad at handling compliments) but after yet another email from a reader the other day, I thought that it’s finally time for me to get over my coyness.

So many people tell me they can’t stay fit while travelling, but I don’t buy it – that just means they don’t want it badly enough.

  • 1-2 years ago I was doing daily 130-150 pushups saw drastic changes to my body I stopped doing them because I met my ex-gf and was self conscious of doing them in front of anyone. ( in highschool I wasnt even able to do 1 push-up) fast forward I am with someone else that push me to go with her to the gym I am still not nearly as strong as when I just did my pushups but this video of my fav monkeyabroad just gave me the motivation to get back into it. Set small goals for yourself and just reach for them. Thanks for such an inspirational vid

  • Damn your health lifestyle is so similar to mine. From oatmeal in the morning to peanut butter to walking. And instead of kickboxing i did regular boxing. Only i don’t workout 5 days a week anymore.
I have always wondered how hard it would be to keep that life style if i did what you did. You showed me it isn’t too difficult.

    Good job, keep it up.

  • Kevin, head up the headlands across the road from Tiki Bar in Marissa to The Cliff Chef Akilla Kitchen (its on Maps.Me) they do a freakin’ huge and insane Massaman curry and it’s legit! Yeah, that’s right, screw exercise I’m all about food.

  • Before traveling I can never sleep so I end up being awake for like 36 hours and then when I get off the plane I feel like I’m about to fall over. Whoops.

  • Great tips!
About walking everything… I once overdid that on a trip to Berlin, watch out for blisters! I had good walking shoes, but didn’t really broke em in before the trip. Looking back i should have used the really nice and easy subway system more. So much to see, before you know it, you are walking most of your day! I heard the same is true for London and Paris.

  • You’re 100% right about the water. I started drinking plain seltzer water instead of diet drinks, and I swear I feel about 10x better. I think it’s because it’s carbonated water and nothing else. Drinking water really works.

  • I used to like this channel a lot until theres one video i unliked then after that their video it didnt appear on my recommendation….
Now, i bumped to it and surprised how many views it got. SO LOW. 600k subscibers but only got 5k views for a week? What happened?

  • Dope video! I have a full body routine using my company’s hip bands and sliders when I don’t have access to a gym. P.S. New sub straight outta Travel like a boss podcast. Keep killing it!

  • wow inspiring video man. But I am really embarrassed I can only do about 20 pushups and 3 pull ups! do you have any tips on increasing the volume?

  • Great informative video Gareth!! Had to smile when I saw this popping up because I remembered you telling us over breaky during keyframe about having wanted to film this video for a while… my hit workout looks almost exactly the same:)

  • Hi Cammie, the link to the daily burn with your code doesn’t work on mobile (in that it isn’t ‘clickable’), just wanted to let you know in case you made money if people clicked on the link directly, we want you to get all the moneyz!

  • After watching this video I realize that I could never be like you, I love me some junk foods
And btw, San Diego is so beautiful! that scenery when you’re working out.. wow, beautiful San Diego.

  • Hi Kevin! I don’t have enough strength to do any of your exercises so I’ll just watch you. Lol. The only exercise I can really do is speed walk for about 5 miles a day. You look really great, keep up the good work

  • Just subscribed after this being the second video, really enjoy your content and authenticity. I am going to Phuket, Thailand myself for 2 weeks solo in a week! It will be my first international travel, very very excited for all that it will bring; great food, new culture, beautiful weather and beaches! Keep it up sir!

  • Thanks, you inspired me, I have been working out for past one month, doing body weight exercise, currently learning how to do handstand. Thanks for great content:)

  • Gareth! listen you cannot post these thumbnails of your shirtless body and then not follow up with the same dose of shirtlessness IN the video itself jokes aside all respect for you and everything you do! keep up the hard work and good content

  • Also Cam, would you ever be open to the idea of doing a sort of lifestyle podcast? I know you have your blog but I’d sure be interested in listening!

  • Well, more proof that wisdom doesn’t necessarily come with age. I’m probably 40 years older than this guy, and he’s wiser than I am. Thank you for sharing.

  • Hi, peanut butter a lot of sugar, and you don’t drink coffee, how do you digest the sugar? work out a lot? I’m sure you are, that’s good.:)

  • Hey man, thanks a ton for honoring the request and making a video about workout while traveling. I like your routines. My No. 1 exercise while traveling has to be pushups as well. Mostly because it is a multi-purpose exercise engaging a whole range of muscle groups and it is easy to do anywhere anytime. And to engage my lower body, I do squats (weighted or not) and lunges (sideways, forward). Like you, I do pull-ups as well but they are slightly more challenging in terms of location. It’s not always easy to find a tree/door frame/equipment sturdy enough for 50 pull-ups. Handstands are a hurdle I need to overcome. I find it difficult to stay balanced while hand-standing. Any tip on how to train yourself to the point where you can easily stand on your hands for, say 20 seconds? Other than that, walking and jogging are always good, in my opinion. Again, thanks so much for sharing your life. Such beautiful views where you are and am happy for you for living a great lifestyle.

  • Not bad Garethi think you’re doing quite good w your travel plans when it comes to your diet & fitness. Is all well planned & it shows. Peanut butter & basketball it stuck in my mind & ohh always have Imodium w you at all times okdoks?

  • I think you should do a video on logistics and also travel insurance? I never understood it. Also stuff like jet lag and what you pack and what not to pack. Also finding out which places or areas are shady in a town. So many things to worry about

  • Parker how did you learn to backflip and all that?? Its pretty badass I would love to whip out a gainer or backflip in front of random people. Teach me the heusser way

  • When my team would play beer pong in college, we put working out in the rule: if you miss a cup-15 pushups. If you get skunked-mile run…that kind of stuff

  • I’m going backpacking for half a year soon and I’ve actually been thinking a lot about these issues so this video had the perfect timing❤️ so great tips

  • Watching your channel and the $20 a day videos inspired me to come to Asia alone for a month. Can’t thank you enough. Its something I always knew was right for me but never believed enough to go. And now I’ve done Philippines, Indonesia, in Singapore right now,
Malaysia and Thailand next. Keep up the great content✔️

  • I travel solo and like running but running in a new country sounds super scary to me… still not sure if I’ll bring my running shoes since they take up a lot of space but I’m sure that if I watch this video a minute before packing my bag, I’ll bring them and try to use them!

  • This girl knows everything..talented cammie..i love to watch your vedios not only because of your personal life..i watch your vedios bcz you teach or inform or advice about everything..be happy cammie..

  • Stay away from peanut butter that has partially hydrogenated oils. Opt instead for natural peanut butter. The oil in natural PB naturally separates and has to be stirred into the solid but, trust me, it’s much much more healthy for you.

  • Peanut Butter costs a fortune here in Brazil, so it’s a no-no for me. But then there’s Paçoca which is almost the same thing hahah. Thanks for the tips, Gareth!

  • You have a perfect body…..very attractive indeed. I hope you have a significant other to bring you happiness, because you deserve it. Love from Brazil!

  • Great vlog and as usual, inspirational. One TMI to another, my first sebaceous cyst removal was the same place, left shoulder on my collar line. Indian physician, did a great job, closed incision with a single stitch. THAT SAID, that was 1995 and since I’ve had nine more removed, so make friends with a good dermatologist.

  • Definitely need to be better about incorporating healthy food into my travel. I loveeeee pigging out and “treating myself” on vacation. Someone pass the butter.

  • I struggle with mental illness at the moment and your videos always inspire me to fight for my happiness. Thank you so much <3
Also my English is really bad, so I hope you understand what I was trying to say

  • Parker to fitness instructor (10 exercises to keep fit in your travels) ‍♂️
Create a routine and never more procastinar. 1:37 by the way freddie mercury is alive!

  • At 8:04 we see the meal on the plate after it’s cooked and also wandering around in the background before it’s cooked.
At 9:48 we see one of the most beautiful food shots Gareth has ever taken. I’m drooling.

  • Everyone that’s going on a trip needs to be reminded about staying fit while away. You’re daily routine is different. The foods are different and it’s so easy to not work out. Don’t do it as you’ll feel much better on your trips. Keep traveling

  • Hey Gareth! You are living a dream that many people have. Thank you for inspiring people to travel and live healthy! Great channel!

  • In moving to Ecuador, it was important to find a building with a gym (not easy to do) and a pool (not easy to do) and Tennis, 1..5 blocks to Rio Tomebamba for endless walks/runs along the river while inhaling the wafts of eucalyptus. My slice of paradise! Parker, you are INCREDIBLY STRONG! Impressive! xoxo

  • Kevin, I somehow impressed with your front of the cam story telling skills… no offense but did you read the text from some kind of teleprompter like tab prompter? Bottomline this was just another great content I mean Kevin and his mind!!!

  • Cammie Scott you have the best channel in the world!!! You have all kinds of videos and a lot of great advices.
    I love you so much!!!

  • I travel to at least 2 different states by plane a month and this video is so on point. I love your videos but is there any collabs soon?

  • It was useful to learn that you mostly use a kitchen and cook while abroad. I hadn’t seriously considered that option, but sounds like B&B with kitchens are a very healthy option.

  • I just love your vibe and way with words so much. Even with subjects like this. Thank you for always being so positive and caring. Stay beautiful.

  • This video is much more informative than all the fitness videos out there on YouTube.
I like it so much buddy, keep up with good work

  • Hi! being an addictive subscriber on your channel! as a mom of 2, prepping for bikini show for the first time (3weeks out) already so afraid of after show blues….
Can you make some channel of how to handle post show depression or what things to do such as reverse dieting, post show training or post show cardio and so on! there’s not enough contests and knowledges about after treatment (same like afterbirth care..!!) need experts help!!!! XX

  • I don’t wanna get too deep but I just wanna say thank you because it’s 2 years since I received third degree burns and you and shans videos were what I watched during the long time in the hospital and continuously during recovery to try take my mind off the pain and you never failed to make me smile. You were my escapism, I watched your videos all night every night because I couldn’t sleep due to pain. I really appreciate you being there without realising I love you so much. Thank you ☺️❤️

  • What options do you have when you can’t find anything to do pull-ups on? When I have traveled in Japan ive rarely seen suitable things for pull-ups even in parks

  • Body weight stuff is great, but I also bring an elastic exercise band, the ribbon kind. Takes up no space at all and adds a few extra exercise options, they tend to break after a while though.

  • I just love your videos and tips like this I’m not on prep, but this is great for any traveling since I’m still just working on weighloss myself.

  • This dude is like in his 20s. I’d like to see his gut when he’s 44 like me, I have about 20 pounds that no matter what I can’t get rid of because your energy level and hormones and testosterone changes after 38 to 40 years old

  • gravity? oh that THEORY/lie told to us to convince us we are on a spinning ball hahaha with no evidence for it! (its flat ofcourse)!

  • I love this. I love calisthenics, but I wasn’t sure if it was possible to get as shredded as you just doing calisthenics. Now I know! Awesome channel!

  • You built your body with no weights just body weight exercises? If so I’m quitting the gym and will do what you do. I would love to have your body.

  • Better than nothing. It’s not a bad routine, although handstands are not for everybody. I would add some leg even if you still work them while traveling (not the same type of fibers). Thanks for sharing.

  • man you’re really the embodiment of eating GOOD FOOD while still having a healthy body! All I can see when people work out is that they make meal plans and eat healthy food that taste like shit. You really proved to the world that you can eat good food while eating healthy!

  • I knew it!! Peanut butter peanut butter butter!!
I try the eat at least 6 table spoons of that stuff a day. I always bring it with me whenever I travel / backpacking / camping.

    Great stuff Gareth!

  • thanks G.you make exercising seems so easy.i’m 5’7 about 160lbs.i admit i dont eat right.i like sweets and sometimes i crave for junk food but as much as possible whenever i can i munch on greens.wish i had a body like yours.this video is very inspiring.i should start going to the gym tomorrow…..maybe hahaha.

  • What would be your healthy snacks?? I really love your lifestyle videos!! Would love to see more I’m trying really hard to became a fully vegan human

  • Wow!! I am super impressed. Also, that dog was following you. So cute! Not sure if you are a dog person but how can you not pet all those dogs? Serious question.

  • peanut butter… or in my case almond butter is a must have for traveling. Usually take a couple packs in my bag

Also what I noticed it helps, at least personally is water with squeezed lemon or lime (when possible)

  • The toilet problem is so relatable Doesn’t help that I eat so many fries while travelling since it’s sometimes the only vegan option available!

  • Great video Parker, you are fierce. Love this different direction for a video. We need a fitness video next you handsome man. Keep up the great work all High on life too. Just watching you brings positivity.xx

  • I’m more of a runner/elliptical guy myself. But definitely not seeing the results you are. Good grief, Kevin……gotta hide this video from my wife.

  • Gosh, this is so tough for some folks. I am lucky as I am naturally active and mostly have active itineraries while traveling. But then comes the food. All those temptations! Excellent video, well done men. Thanks

  • The diet and work out routines you mentioned are definitely working….you’re looking very good

Having good genes and being intelligent doesn’t hurt either

  • The more I look at how clean and developed Sri Lanka is looking the more I realize union of India is a failed and completely flawed concept. great video.

  • Yes yes Cammie, those tips are really helpful. I thought it was just me who don’t get enough rest before travelling. And I tend to eat everything while i’m travelling hahha..so thank you Cammie, you’re the whole universe! i love you and your positive vibe.

  • Last time I went on a proper trip I didn’t unpack for a good 6 months…I was 16 at the time but still…let’s hope i can follow this after Orlando

  • Gary, peanut butter you have to be born in the US for the rest of the planet it is shit paste. I am an American (born in Chicago) but raised in Europe (France and Germany). I can’t stand peanut butter. It is way too sweet, it feels weird in the mouth, it gets stuck in my teeth and the roof of my mouth and when it comes out I could be sued to energize a small town with gazes. Anyway we all have seen you eat the most gross stuff here. Do you remember that delicacy in Iceland? (the shark meat). Moving on: as far as water is concerned when in Asia be careful of what kind of bottled water you pick up. Tons of fake water. One would never say that water could be fake unless it was by trump (the fake president) but in Asia they have corned that market of fake water. Your workout routine was great but I learned while in undergrad that if it is cold or raining outside masturbation is a great replacement for exercises. Some of the guys in undergrad would opt for that alone and they seemed to be in great shape. Perhaps you should talk about that but if you are doing warn us about that in the title of the video so we could skip that one. LOL

  • I’m in the gym a lot and lovin’ it. What you’re doing is really hard but I’ll give it a try. Like you said: slowly slowly……The beach looks extremely sexy and worth the effort getting there.Been to India, but never to Sri Lanka.More videos, please!

  • Thanks for sharing the helpful tips for health while travelling.
I personally prefer roller abs workout which is quite helpful, quick & easy.
You’re such an amazing guy, driven & grounded
    Stay cool & cozy

  • I’ve been abroad a couple times now, and am currently studying abroad, and I’ve never known how to stay for while traveling. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!

  • Thanks for watching friends! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to message me on Instagram http://instagram.com/tourist2townie
NEXT UP: A new region in Japan, and then RUSSIA!! I can’t wait to get back into the travel deeper style content!

  • This guy: does pull ups and hand stands even when on vacation
Me: ugh I’m too lazy to go to the gym after work because then I’ll be home so late
