5 Great Things About Recovery Days. Whether you’re an avid runner, cyclist or yogi or you prefer the variety afforded by a big box gym, there’s something we all have in common: the need for a good recovery day. Taking one or two days off per week helps the muscles repair after the stress exercise imposes upon them. Unlike (also important) passive recovery days—where you’re sitting on your couch all day binge-watching Stranger Things—an active recovery day features easy workouts equivalent to no more.

Threats to recovery are ever-present, but they change over time. Stress and exposure to drug use triggers (the people, places, and things associated with past drug use) are two of the most common. It takes time, but there is a great joy to be had in moments of every day. Just remember, you’re learning new steps, a new dance.” Lisa Frederiksen. 23) “We honor ourselves when we speak out for recovery.

We show the world that recovery matters because it brings hope and peace into the lives of individuals and their loved ones. Just as you need recovery from work and technology, you also need some healthy recovery from people. Even if it’s just 20-60 minutes per day, you need some time to. Remission for substance use disorder occurs at 5 years, which is the point at which the risk for relapse is no greater than that of anyone else in the general population. Continuing care and support for individuals in recovery therefore remains important for years following active addiction, and not just days or months.

3. One of the things we’ll be working on during our recovery days is corrective exercise. This is important because most of us start working out, training, or bodybuilding without a thought about our joint dysfunctions or imbalances.

We hit the iron hard and heavy, unconscious of how our body’s immobility may negatively affect our lifts and our. On recovery days, Matheny suggests walking to work, going for a leisurely bike ride, or taking a restorative yoga class to prevent a day of sitting, lounging, and lying down in front of a. Top 10 things you can do on your Active Recovery Days 1. Hiking.

I absolutely love hiking on my active recovery days. It’s such a great way to get outside and connect with 2. Go for a Walk. Walking is a great low impact cardiovascular exercise that can be done outside or inside. I.

While there’s no rule saying you need to get up at 7 a.m. on recovery days (especially if it’s the weekend!), eight or more hours of sleep on either end of a recovery day is especially important because your body uses that sleep as a time to repair muscle fibers and.

  • Can I go to a trekking after 6months of my right knee acl and meniscus surgery? The trekking needs 4 days and 8to9 hours walk everyday.

  • I have partial meniscus removal and acl reconstruction with my hamstring graft. I’m day 9 now can walk with 1 crutch and do leg lift but only be able to bend 30. any advise? also my calf seems tight. thanks so much

  • I’ve been dealing with this for 2-3 years now, it comes and goes as I try to fix it by resting and stretching a lot. I try to be careful and as soon as I feel any discomfort changing my training intensity but after a while it the pain alwayd returns. Thanks for the tips! I’ll keep trying to get rid of it completely.

  • You are such an inspiration!! Please please do a follow up video after they take the gauzes off!! I would like to see hoe the incision is healing!! Thank you!! Blessings from Kentucky!!

  • I’m so happy to hear you’re doing well and you have such a supportive family to take care of you also dogs definitely know when you’re not well, a couple of years ago I struggled to walk due to swollen joints and when I took my dog for a short walk she wouldn’t pull and was very patient completely opposite to how she normally is

  • Thank you for this video and for having it in English. I go in for my first knee in less than 2 weeks. I have every intention of the most rapid possible recovery. Of course I understand it is up to me how I handle my recovery phase. I even have therapeutic yoga positions (with chair) ready to go from a teacher who is well versed with knee patients. Hoping (and planning) to minimize narcotics and maximize natural remedies (anti-inflammatories) Giving myself a strict anti-inflammatory diet as well, to support the process. Your video is very positive an excellent dose of optimism that if I give 100% to my knee, it will give 100% to me.

  • You have such a positive mindset, I think that definitely helped you recover faster too! (: Glad to see you’re doing so well, here’s to a speedy recovery!

  • I pray that the rest of your recovery is smooth-sailing
and that it heals properly and well. You know I kind of
feel like I grew up with you in a way. I took a break from
watching youtube for a while last year and I would get
notifications on you from time to time at the perfect
moments. I realized I even nicknamed my ex after you
(bubba which is so common apparently, It was original to me)
and when I realized that It’s crazy how much influence
you have on me and I dont mean that to scare you lol
but I appreciate you and all that you’ve done to help me
with your kind words at times where I couldnt see a way
from the first time I came across your channel..(i dont even
know how long at this point ) but I am thankful and so
proud of you and your greatness..seeing you develop as
a person for as much as you let us see..from taking walks
with your dogs to your relationship growing to have the
most adorable little beans ever…they are so precious. It’s
been a lovely experience. So thank you for being a light in my life

  • The worst thing were those fundal massages. They had to max out my fentanyl in PACU and it still didn’t help me. I was still moaning and groaning every time the nurse fisted my freshly cut abdomen. Thank God they stopped after pacu (unlike after my vaginal delivery).

  • speed healing! Separate from Tim doesn’t mean that both of you stop being Ayla and Issac’s parents. This just show how mature both of you ♡✧( ु•⌄• )

  • I’m so happy that your recovery is going so smoothly! My tummy tuck was the most painful process I’ve ever gone through…I was praying for you! And you are looking amazing!!!

  • Gosh Bubz, it was so hard for me to watch your hospital vlog, like, it made me remember the last time I was in the hospital (2 months). All the tubes, the catheter, the socks, and obviously your wound, all that I could feel right now lol, even if it is not happening to me right now, but just seeing you there alone and in pain reminded me that horrible time ><
But of course, You will be ok, everything will look gorgeous ^^, I am so happy for you!

    please take care!

  • Speedy recovery and I can’t wait to see more updates on your tummy tuck! I am interested in doing a tummy and have been so afraid not knowing a good doctor. Thanks for sharing.

  • After I gave birth to my daughter I had sooooo much extra skin, around 100 pounds gained pregnant! After 2 years majority of myself has went back to normal, I give props to all moms who have another baby even after a year! I feel like I’m still recovering lol

It is a great one of a kind guide for dealing with chronic knee pain without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got amazing results with it.

  • Hey Mario! This video is great and resonates with me 100%. I have been watching athletes for many years and totally understand this mirroring process. Their form and their focus and their fearlessness which enhanced their ability to up-level their routines over and over again, enabled me to mirror them because what I saw would become firmly embedded in my brain. The result was surprising myself in my ability to do better each time. Watching your workout videos have the same effect on me. So thank you! Helen

  • I admire you so much, Bubz. You’ve been through so much and yet you’re still this positive energy. I hope for your happiness. You deserve it.

  • Hello, Happy to see you are doing well, congratulations on your braveness. I have seen your videos where you where trying to use derma roller and vitamin c, why you gave up it and decided to do the surgery, would appriciate to have your feed back.

  • I am so happy for you Bubz!!! You are so brave too! You deserve to be happy and I am so happy for you and I am glad you are healing well praying for you to continue to have a smooth quick recovery! PS You are glowing love you so much!

  • Due to the lockdown, it at least makes it easy to focus on rehabilitating my knees as I am now forced to stay away from my sports which I couldnt do prior to lockdown and is the main reason why my knees have had this problem for 2 years. I’m thinking that theres gunna be more people like me who are finally deciding to commit in getting their knees better by consistently do their strengthening/stretching exercises and staying away from anything that will make it worse like running, sports, etc. So I think it will be good for those in the same boat and starting to take their rehabilitation seriously now to share their experiences and progression by maybe regularly commenting on this comment?

  • Lindy you got the courage, being such a brave and positive woman! Keep it up and inspire people around. Impressed from my heart!

  • I had my tummy tuck in June, 2 months post op. My stomach muscle separated, so it was so worth to do the operation. Loving my new tummy. Good luck in your recovery.

  • You are such a beautiful cheery person. I am glad you are doing well after surgery. Long time subscriber. Even with all your transitions in like you always so positive, brave and honest in your videos and I think thats is amazing!

  • I’m not sure but,if anyone else is searching for patellar tendon movement try Mackorny Treat Bones Blueprint (do a search on google )?

It is a great one off guide for dealing with chronic knee pain minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.

  • Bubz I am so happy for you… glad your having a speedy recovery. Just wondering how much did it cost for tummy tuck? Hope you don’t mind.. looking forward for your more vlogs. ❤️❤️

  • Bubz I love how honest and genuine you are about everything. You are truly inspirational and you have helped me so much on my own journey to try and be a better person. Thank you for your videos and for sharing the things you are going through, it really helps more than you know ❤️

  • I can’t even express how proud I am of you! You’re such a powerwoman and a huge inspiration. I try to take your postitive vibe with me and it makes my life a lot brighter. Thank you so much for being a light in my life ❤

  • I’m so happy for you, Lindy! Doing things for yourself to make yourself feel good is a kind of self-respect and you’re amazing to put it out there. And I want you to know that you’ve tipped me from considering getting lipo or coolsculpting (depending on what my consultant recommends) to actually deciding to get it!

  • So happy for you!! You did it!!! Just wondering why it’s warm in a hospital. That’s not good for the surgical area. So happy you are doing well. You seem so happy.

  • I’m so happy you finally did what you wanted to do. As a nurse I can attest you are looking great post op. I’m glad you are doing well, and make sure you get lots of rest. Congrats and love from Canada!

  • Hi Bubz, I’ve been watching your videos since I was around 14. I’m now 22 and pregnantand secretly terrified if I ever need a tummy tuck after having a baby. I was holding on to hope that dermarolling will fix any issues I might have with my tummy postpartum.

  • Thank you for this video I will be getting a tummy tuck next year and I’m so excited and scared at the same time may I ask what surgeon you went to I’ll be going to Marisa Lawrence in Atlanta I’m just curious

  • Not certain about the points made but,if anyone else wants to discover pain relief for patellar tendonitis try Mackorny Treat Bones Blueprint (do a search on google )?

It is a smashing exclusive guide for dealing with chronic knee pain without the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my partner got cool results with it.

  • You are looking great. I hope you get your pain meds changed, I am very sensitive to meds and found out the unpleasant way that I am quite sensitive to codiene….there are options which my doctor quickly changed my meds for me. Good luck!

  • u never fail to make me feel emotional whether it is ur voice or ur content, it always calms me. thank u bubz. Stay Strong. much love from SG.

  • I couldn’t hear what Bubz said at 11:30. Anyone know? Anyway, I am so proud of you Bubz for doing this for yourself. Thank you for sharing your journey! Much love to you and your family. <3

  • When you announced you’re getting a tummy tuck I was so excited. Now I’m glad your surgery went well. Wish you a speedy recovery bubz

  • I think that if you’re a mother, and you got the resources to get a tummy tuck. Then you should do so without judgement! What I don’t like is when women try to hide the fact that they did and make up lies but then continue that “I’m natural, greatful for my body and babies” like no. You don’t get to say that while completely lying especially too an audience of mothers. I think those kind of women make things harder for women to do things for themselves. Never stop being true to yourself Bubz.

  • You are so brave and kudos to you for even having the energy to film post op! I am dreading having to give birth because the thought of it scares me but I know that the female body is so much stronger than the fear. Hope you are recovering well

  • My knee replacement surgery was terrible it’s been 4 months and I still couldn’t bend my knee 90″ so now it’s been 2 weeks since my manipulation surgery PAINFUL AF still can’t bend I was at 75 degrees after 1sy surgery after manipulation I’m at 84 so better but the PAIN is crazy all day half the night I ice daily didn’t help any body have any suggestions beside amputation

  • If I had that done, I would be paranoid about stretching and just bursting all the stitches, haha
I am glad it is all going according to plan.

  • Plz anyone help Meri spinal injection delivery hui a Meri neck and head me bht pain a me stiches k pain ko b bhul gi Hun but mjy neck me bht pain a plz hlepb

  • This shit is painful going through it right now.. The pain is over baring but the pain medication and meditations for pain is working with deep breathing.

  • I had my surgery Sept 5th, almost 3 weeks ago. Sorry I had it done and I wouldn’t do it again. Granted it’s only been barely 3 weeks, but my swelling is getting worse, my exercises are not progressing due to the swelling like they were the first week after surgery. I ice as much as I’m allowed and it does nothing. I think I’m in trouble with this.

  • Dont go fr surgery do cycling at home r outside..use methidana in water soaked..or boiled and drink water…methidana is call fenugreek seeds in English…and use morinaga leaves drink…and pray to Allah.may He grant health all people.

  • Tomorrow will be two weeks since my total knee replacement. am still on a walker and am in so much pain I cry everyday. Tomorrow I will get my 3rd and last prescription of Percocet. Even taking that I am in pain. I know everybody’s different but I have fallen into this deep depression because even when I’m sitting with my leg elevated it feels like someone is hitting my leg with a baseball bat. I had an excellent surgeon and am very good about all my PT at home and out. I feel I need help in understanding what’s going on.

  • I am so happy for you… you did really well.. I had a tummy tuck too and I was down for almost 3 weeks and was bruised… I know you’re going to be very happy with the results.. god bless you and your family always

  • Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I had my first “surgery” (all 4 wisdom teeth removal) and it’s helps to know we’ll be healing together. Wish you a speedy recovery Bubz!!!!

  • Hi Martin, I actually fell on my knee 10 days ago while riding a bike and did not have any tendonitis to my knowledge, as in in chronically developed issues with the patellar tendon. The tendon is swollen and I’m trying to figure out how bad the injury is, though it seems consistent with what I read about patellar injuries online. My question is what best to do in this case, besides reducing training to a lower level of intensity.

  • This is inspiring as I’m going in for knee replacement in June here in Canada. I’m losing weight as asked for by the doctor and doing 15 miles a day on my exercise bike. I can’t walk far due to the pain of the knee right now, but the bike works fine. I don’t like being down so I’m glad it doesn’t take much time to get back up. Thankyou doctor for your wise words.

  • I have to say my total knee replacement was awesome!! I read nothing but bed things about totally knee Replacements.. Doctor David Liao Is a miracle worker!! I’m so glad I had my knee replaced. I had bad swelling for 4 days. But by the 4th day I was up And walking. It all felt natural. I’m not even 2 weeks in. I still have staples in. But I Haven’t stop walking. These doctors Were blessed with hands from God!!

  • Had done years ago, both knees. He doesn’t say that you loose muscle memory, quads. Hardest thing is stairs! It takes a year to to fully recover! One must remember infection is always lurking, knees real foreign body that infection goes to, antibiotics for dental, even prostate and bladder exams. Body doesn’t like foreign bodies in it.

  • Lol I was in PACU for 4 hours after both my csections. I couldn’t move my legs till then. I also had to lie about my pain level (which had to be a 4 but mine was seriously an 8 even with fentanyl) or else I would’ve never left. It sucked bc my babies were in NICU after delivery both times so I didn’t get that oxytocin boost to help. I was begging my nurse to let me get up 6-8 hours after delivery bc my catheter was irritating as hell and the gas pain was so bad this last time. But my hospital didn’t let me get up till 12h after surgery (don’t know why if mom’s able and willing).

  • You had better really and truly be in agonizing pain to have to do this! Mine wasn’t too terrible and wished I had left it alone. The occasional popping out of place and bone on bone was nothing to what I have gone through with total knee replacement. I had no freakin idea the pain would be this bad! Sleep? What is that? No comfortable position can be found! You leave it too straight for too long then you can hardly bend it…bent for too long and can hardly straighten it! Arrrgh! It has been 5 weeks surgery was Nov 21/19. I seem to be getting nowhere!

  • I thought my contractions were bad, then I thought It was the C Section, but I now know it’s the fundal massages after. They always made me cry and I never wanted to be touched. I cry just thinking about the pain… I would never wish that pain upon someone

  • I was 10 pound Bub.. was full babies that day.. Doctors fantastic the sister was great. All happen with in 3hours of mum in hospital. But this other nurse made mum same nite walk everywhere for a bottle all around the hospital every feeding time stupid and no feeding times was not good as not every 3 hours floor nurses were ridiculous and I was underweight checking out they had 1 small bottle omg. Good mum was only there for 1 day and a half. No midwife not turn up. And screaming baby in same room as mum all night day. Make sure all parents out there No one hands touching your baby as mums siblings had Flew virus still nursing me! So mums Advice is all Mums out there have your owns mid wife and No One To touch baby as they not only can transmit flew viral or something else in hospital to your Baby.. ok so BiG advice to you! Baby just arrived so that’s it. I did get flew when I got home as New born. Mmm! So beware all Mummy’s. My mother Beautiful. So all best to you Mummy’s. Bring your own bottles formula ok. Sterilising in your own room not 20 minutes walking around hospital every 2 hours as you just had huge operation c/section.. bring your own nurse to be there for fist day or 2.. 😉

  • Having my partner and my new born at both times I’ve had a csection, in the room, was what distracted me most from the pain, when my babies were sleeping, that’s when I was finding it difficult to focus away from the pain..

THE MASSAGE IS PAINFUL! AND WHEN THEY TAKE THE DRESSING OFF AND CHANGE IT..
My first csection, I had an extremely horrible experience, my second wasn’t too bad, the team I had that were looking aftwer me were great, it was the pain that was worst, second time round. Excruciating pinching pain every little movement I made.. Even to try jiggle My butt up the bed from slouching. Most of these videos of “recovery from csection” on YouTube are such huge understatements. The people who made them clearly didn’t experience a csection themselves.

  • Excellent Video! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you heard about Taparton Lard Destroying Takeover (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for finding the trick to deal with knee pain without the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy after many years got astronomical results with it.

  • I wouldnt wish a c-section on no woman,extremely painful,god help you if you have to cough/sneeze,i had 2 kids 1 natudal and 1 emerg c section

  • I had 2 c-section and my belly is hanging as they never coach me of what to do post surgery so now I have a big flap for a belly. I talked to my husband about getting a tummy tuck and he started watching videos and got scared saying that it looked so painful and dangerous. And that he loves me the way my body is. And I told him that I know that he loves me but I’m not doing it for him but for me because I don’t like what I see in the mirror. And I’m always looking at other girls and the first thing I look at is their flat bellies and how mine used to be, so it makes me self conscious about how my body looks. Now you gave me more courage to go and get it done.

  • The part when she’s in massaging like the uterus with stomach is when like the narrator say it is uncomfortable that’s not the word to describe how it feels for me because I have I had 2 C-sections already that’s a pain like there’s no words to explain

  • Hey Martin, I know this is an old video but it’s useful information! I had a full ACL tear, and ACL reconstruction with patellar tendon autograft (bone-tendon-bone) about 3 months ago. I have struggled with patellar tendonitis for 3 years before this injury. I play D1 lacrosse and train / practice about 15-20 hours a week when school is in session. In the x-ray they observed a small chronic bone chip completely separated from the rest of my knee cap sitting on my tendon, most likely causing me this overuse pain. I think the bone chip occurred years ago from a check in practice. My question is, with a patellar tendon autograft, and a history of tendonitis in this same knee, what advice would you have for me going through ACL rehab. I have a PT I’ve been working with through E-Health, but mostly I’m on my own. Been experiencing great gains in strength, motion, stability but recently when implementing a bit more advanced movements I have been going backwards in comfortableness and feeling pain in the tendon. Currently trying to navigate my way through how I should slow myself down, and what things work/ dont. If you could help me out I’d greatly appreciate it.

  • I got cesarian due to preeclampsia and that was the worst situation in my life. I remember those nights where I feel like this is the end of my life because even my doctor gave me lots of anti high blood dosages, my blood pressure was still high. Thank God, it was a miracle, I was still alive and looks like nothing happened, and the baby is fine even though he was premature at that time. Now I’m on my 2nd week of recovery, everytime I think about that, I always cry.

Doesn’t mean that when you do cesarian, you’ll be safe, especially for those who are in preeclampsia like me. There are always risk on giving birth…

I got preeclampsia suddenly by my 34th week out of nowhere when I have a good lifestyle. The child was the main source of my eclampsia and he was so strong that made my bp 180/100 straight for a week.

  • You definitely do not get more rest rooming in and I seriously doubt babies cry less. We were inpatient for five days, I got maybe six hours of sleep during that time, and my baby tried to wail the hospital into collapsing. What it does is free up the baby nurses and reduce how many nurses are on the payroll overall.

  • I got c section worst part when doctor press my stomach after surgery for checking if the my stomach is okay. It was so painful and later ask you to walk. I’m dying

  • Please check out my c section video, things I wish I knew before having a c section and tips for a safer,faster,c-section recovery er https://youtu.be/1_ttx3QRIWQ

  • The heck, I had a c-section within 3 hours after my operation they told me to walk to the restroom cuz they didn’t want my intestine sticking together. I did most on my own cuz my husband was in active duties and left once our daughter was born. He spent 3 hours with her before he headed to the airport.

  • Even i had ceserian delivery but in normal hospitals they dont treat in such way…
This kind of behaviour is only given in private hospitals or in foreigns….

  • In some ways, it’s special knowing your tummy tuck came 9 months after consultation. 9 months to grow a baby. Your body grew 2 beautiful babies xxx

  • There is no way in hell your moving around like that after just having a c section sorry but you need to make a video with a mom who did really just come out of an or because this is making a c section look like a piece of cake and its not!

  • The C Section Recovery KIt helped me get out of bed and walk, without the help of the nurse. Compression is key to recovery, so I used their soft belly bands. It has a massage DVD that really helped me to recover. I walked with baby and my C Section Recovery Band, so I didn’t have to do so many meds. All the best!

  • i had to have a cesarean because im 4’8″ and my son was 8lbs. 8oz. at birth and facing sunny side up and i wouldnt dilate after 3 days of serious contractions so i was taken to have the surgery to get him out. my nurses were fantastic and so loving. my obgyn performed the surgery and he was wonderful. my son and i are alive today because of them <3 im sad to see so many other have had bad experiences with cesarean. it is a major surgery and is very hard in healing. as a doula, i am hoping to help be somewhat of a change in this world with the birthing experience. <3

  • This is very true, I do this thing since i wanted to start lifting when i was not going to gym i watched everyday 2 or 3 hours on youtube, 6 months later i started going to gym but i don,t stop learning since today, right now i have 9 months of gym and i watch fitness videos on youtube at least 1 hour a day, I will never stop learning!

  • I’m very happy for you, Bubz! Thank you for sharing your journey. Glad you had a safe surgery and are at home resting. Hope the rest of the recovery road is smooth as well

  • Totally agree Mario! I’m a visual person. I enjoy playing pool & throwing darts and when I go to these places I watch the form & techniques other people use. Same with the gym on movements I need to improve on.  Great topic Sir. Over 8k-Congrats! Keep up the great work & I wish you all the best.

  • great vid. I watched video of yours where you did a stick stretching and wanted to try it. but can’t find the video and looked through all your vids.

  • i already do this by watching you!!!! i enjoy your videos 100% more than athleanx. I also watch people in the gym around me aswell

  • this is what I do for my jiu jitsu and MMA: I am ALWAYS thinking about my moves, training and drilling in my mind and watching the best. this is such a key concept

  • Great stuff. Do you have any stretching videos for future reference? My chest/back get really tight, after a chest workout, and especially when I wake up in the morning. Would love to know if I’m not stretching properly or if I’m not doing enough counter exercises to balance my weighted pushups. Any good back exercises to balance out the gains in my chest? Thanks!

  • This is so true, ii watch videos of people deadlift and squat all the time. In the last 4 days my deadlift has gone up 40 lbs. the same concept applies in other things such as ultimate frisbee and skateboarding, great content man!

  • Learning how to lift more efficiently is one of the fastest way to get stronger. Each exercise has a skill learning curve. And like any other skill it takes practice to perfect it. So why not use rest days on visually learning the technique? In this quick vid you’ll learn what you can do on your rest days to improve my technique and get stronger through the power of mirror neurons. Also the channel is exploding with new subscribers! Thanks to everyone once again for the support, you guys are awesome!

  • Hey everyone. This video is almost 6 years old now. For an updated version of what works and what doesn’t for getting rid of patellar tendonitis, check out this article -> https://martinkoban.com/patellar-tendonitis/

  • Took me 2/12 years to heal. I wish I educated myself more before. I just re-injured my knee which has led me here and to research what I’m doing wrong.

  • I’ve been dealing with this pain for about a year. I play basketball basically year round and every time I practice/play I have pain. Having this pain while I play causes me to have to push more and it makes me exhausted. I want to tell my coaches that my knees hurt but my head coach said he doesn’t give a shit if they hurt and that I need to still give it 100%. I want to keep playing because I feel I will look like a wuss if I stop but I also don’t want to get injured because it literally hurts ever single time I practice. What do I do.

  • I experienced knee pain for the first time yesterday. Today I feel completely fine (I iced my knees and took Tylenol before bed). Do you think I can go back to regular jumping rope (1,000/day) + my HIIT workout? Or just rest a couple days? 3 months feels like a long time but I’m kind of worried in case this does become chronic

  • I’ve had it for 2 and a half years. It got better but when I tore my pcl on my other knee I stopped working out and lost all my muscle now because the strain is put on the tendon instead of the muscle it hurts again

  • I have had knee pain since 2016. I play basketball. After a year and a hot two years (and a lot of left leg jumping,) my left knee is fine but my right knee still gives me problems. How do I fix this??

  • 6 months now, first 2 months i could barely walk more than 500-1000 steps (before i averaged 10-20,000 steps a day). now i can walk, run, jump, but whenever i do more than 10 squats & lunges or 10,000 steps I feel my knee (mostly my left one) not in a painful way, but like its not 100%. I have been doing sets of wall squats & step ups 2-3 times a week since middle of month 3 to now. Only for the last month have i gotten back to working out at the gym, granted i am going light because i haven’t gone in years and working my way back, and only doing regular squats and wall squats (no weights). any other advice for what i should do? Thanks

  • Sosososo happy for you!!! I unfortunately cannot have kids as I lost an ovary to a C section, it was 6 inches wide covered in cysts. The worst part was the fact that they had to put my intestines in a bowl and then rearrange them!!! It was so WRONG feeling lmao! The second worst was the gas in my chest from the surgery!!! I’m also glad you’re doing well I’ve followed you since I was 14 ish (12 years ago) and feel like you’re my friend! ♥️ Best wishes, easy recovery, love you Emi ✨

  • I am only thirteen years old and i already experience extreme pain on my both knees just because of jump roping, please help me. Im too young to experience this

  • I came here to see if anything has changed. I had my L Knee replaced 5 years ago & there were many things that I was not advised of at that time. The first being scar tissue. You must keep up painful exercises FOREVER. Failure to do so results in stiffness, muscle loss & memory. Your brain actually forgets how to walk right. You will NEVER be able to kneel again. I can’t put on socks & shoes without assistance. Your body will always be subject to infection & antibiotics will ALWAYS be needed for simple teeth cleaning etc. I know & understand that this procedure does affect people differently. Mine has been hell but I was in pain back then & I am still in pain today. I am trying not to be negative but I don’t think they tell you all the pitfalls to having this operation. A knee replacement will be a life-changing event & in my case, it has been a negative event. PS I walk with a cane now.

  • My pain is well below the knee about 3 inches on the inferior. Feels almost on the bone, and only causes pain when torque is applied, flaring my foot outward causes pain if pressure is applied with it, think of a ballet dancer doing a twirl. I’m not exactly sure what’s happening.

  • I just had my Tummy Tuck and BBL done 10 days ago. I have amazing results so far and it’s not even the final result. Take care and drink a lot of water. ❤️

  • You also get a lot of outside pressure from family and friends urging you to exercise your knee more often by saying the old adage “no pain no gain”. I know, sometimes I am in so much pain, people yell at me telling me, telling me I’m not working out enough. They make me feel like I am totally lazy. I try to tell them it hurts my knee and tendon so much to even walk. It is very frustrating. The population needs to be educated.

  • I’ve had knee pain on and off for about 6 years. Have recently lost 46 pounds. Unfortunately the weight loss didn’t help my discomfort but it did get me new clothes! I am 69 years old and have had various surgeries in my life. It’s been recommended to me to have a total knee replacement. The thought of having this done absolutely terrifies me. As mentioned, I’m in some pain but for the most part, I can deal with it, although an MRI showed that I have no cartilage in my left knee. I guess my question to those who have been kind enough to post comments is, if you were me, would you do this? Thanks to all. BTW, I have a history of blood clots and will be seeing an internist to determine if surgery is too much of a risk for me.

  • easy just don’t do full squats do half squats till you’re fully healed just make sure your thighs aren’t perpendicular to the ground that’s the most important note because this allows the patellar to heal

  • 4 months halp…I tried doing easy runs…didn’t work….icing didn’t work… resting didn’t work…. strengthening exercises didn’t work…I jus have to die now haha

  • I also have over a year. Initial few months were mild pain, then bike slip sudden impact to knee increased a lot. Then Usage of knee support recommend by doctor, now doing towel press daily. Still not much improvement.

  • Hey martin im struggling with this from yesterday night! Please help me out when to start exercise
Or any one over here please help me!!

  • I was in sooo much pain after my cesarean, I don’t know which one was worse the labor pains or the pains from the cesarean my son was 7lbs 4oz and 20 inches. long.

  • I’ve had this since Mid march and when quarantine regulations loosen I’m going on trials to pro clubs in Poland I need to get rid of this

  • So ive felt this pain since two days ago after playing basketball, thing is, I never play basketball that was the first time in years. Since quarantaine I didn’t run or walk or workout and. Then I started working out and started running and after that I played basketball for fun for two hours and bam, I got this pain in my knee which makes me unable to walk down the stairs and I don’t know how my pain is so bad. I literally never play basketball. So why does it hurt so much I can barely sleep

  • I have had patellar tendinitis in my left knee for about 8 months now. After I felt pain in my knee during cross country season, I ignored it for a while and kept pounding out miles on concrete streets and struggling through track workouts. I went to casa colina and they said I had patellar tendinitis. I didn’t start physical therapy until December of last year and I did that for about a month then right after I was finished I was playing for my high school soccer varsity team full 90 games which was a huge mistake. I already felt the same pain in my knee. Then track came up this spring and I gradually started running more miles but the pain of pushing hard on streets and on the track has made it hurt. It’s been so bad the pain has gone down to my shins now and I feel like they are cracking. I never thought of easing down the mileage for a short period of time then picking it back up again until I gradually can handle it then ease down again. I will definitely try this in the future and hopefully my pain will subside.

  • How often should I do rehab? My orthopedic recommended I do my eccentric slant board squats daily. Should I have rest days to ensure proper healing?

  • Hi Martin. I have adductor tendonitis at distal insertion and quadricep tendonitis at patellar insertion. I was jogging 1.5 yrs ago and thats when it happened. Im a med student so I had to run around during my internship and didnt give it time to heal, plus im a vegetarian (could that also be a cause?) Anyway, now it has become chronic and has gone into degenerative phase from the inflammatory phase. How do I recover from this? Please help me, Im quite distressed.

  • I’ve been battling tricep tendonosis for over 4 years, just had another rehab setback (I just stick to eccentrics) and Im losing all hope of ever living the kind of life that I want to live:( the main problem is that I never know what to do when I have a setback, I normally lighten the weight and continue my eccentric rehab, but maybe I should have just rested for a week

Fuck it Im tempted to just give up and become a slob

  • I’ve been dealing with this for about 3 years doing both CrossFit and OrangeTheory, though the problems didn’t really start until Orangetheory when I was running so much. About a year ago I stopped both cold turkey. I saw some improvement after many months, but was never 100% better. Finally about 2 month ago I got cortisone shots and was able to start working out again, along with doing PT, and though I have seen great improvement, I’m honestly wondering if I’ll ever be my old self again and be able to do activities I enjoy, like running and jumping.
