  • I think the failure was due to the wall anchor. I cannot see it (the anchor) close enough but you always want a fabric type of loop connected to the anchor and the band inside of the loop. Less abrasion over time. I’m not knocking the anchor but I have bands over 5 years old and they are pressed HARD…and I always make sure the rubber is never attached to metal. ONLY looped fabric. TRUST me on this.

  • Howdy guy’s do you think that one of the reasons that Bob’s black band snapped could have been the wall anchor,because I have a full set of those bands and they came with a nylon door anchor and since yours are made of plastic,could have been the friction,would be worth asking the Bodylastics manufacturers,maybe?   • I wonder about the guys opinion towards the Bullworker range of products, I do enjoy using my classic Bullworker bow because its so convenient, easy to use and so very versatile. While I’m not completely sure that the methods I’ve adapted to me for it are that effective, I can always feel something and it does seem to hit every muscle group I aim it at.

  • Hey Bob and Brad, I have these bands and the anchor set, but have difficulty mounting the thicker ones. The bodylastics orange 40lb band is especially difficult slip through the center hole. Is there a larger anchor or adapter that might work with that? I’ve been making it work but I’m worried that it’s putting too much friction on the band because it’s such a tight fit.   • As usual with these bands there no indication of the stretch required to achieve the labelled weight. 0.5 its length, 2x, 3x? the exercises here are maybe 0.5x its normal length. is that seriously hitting 40 or 50 lbs?

  • Interesting I am on my third set in 8 weeks! Two yellow, one blue and two green bands have snapped! I am sure I am using them correctly when you place them in the door. Any ideas?

  • You should be placing the door anchor at the hinged areas of the door, not the top. Especially on hollow core doors, this is not recommended. When anchoring to the top of the door, anchor just above the top hinge, when anchoring to the bottom of the door, anchor just below the bottom hinge. The middle hinge you can place above or below the hinge depending on which direction you are stretching (up or down) if up, place below the middle hinge, if down place above the middle hinge.

  • Here’s a tip for resistance bands: make sure to have it stretched throughout the entire ROM. If it’s slacking or in its regular length at any point of the concentric/eccentric movement, you’re not maximizing your gains.

  • Hey all, So I’m just curious I have a really hard time building muscle due to my body type, I have a blessing/curse and that is I can’t put weight on, but I can eat what I like and I feel like nothing changes.

    So at first I was a bit hesitant in resistance bands I assumed they were a gimmick and the only way to actually build proper muscle was to lift with weights, after alot of research I found out that this wasn’t the case at all, so I went out and bought a “power tube pro” but it was only one band which meant I have only one form of resistance, I feel as though this type of band would be useful for someone in a recovery situation but not for building muscle.

    Anyway long story short I wanted to join the gym but with coronavirus and everything shutting down this wasn’t an option for me. I’m definately looking at buying a resistance band set that way I can use it to target all different muscle groups, theres two questions I have how many reps and how many sets would I need to do to build muscle?

    If anyone could assist me with this question that would be greatly appreciated.

  • What about the discomfort a person may feel in his hands whilst carrying out the movements; there isn’t a “solid grip/handle”, so the hand is being squeezed.
    I haven’t yet tried it BUT I suspect that this will be a problem for many people.

    I didn’t realize how tight my back was, until it was too late.
    I’ve got some trees you can cut down and cut into winter wood, and I have a couple of sheds that need jacking up, you will never run out of ‘exercise at my place

  • I’d like to see the actual results. Most people will NOT grow muscle with just a resistance band. I’ve tried, it doesn’t work. Did I get a nice pump and toned and sore joints? Hell yeah. Good to use these before a date gents in order to pump up the arms, other than that you need heavy weights.

I heard, unfortunately,  the inverse is not true — your libido levels can go up without your testosterone levels also going up.   • i do not recommend do any side motion with your wrist it was not designed that way. Wrist curls and reverse curls are enough. Look up Strength Training Anatomy book its all in there.

  • These are good for isolating muscle groups and time under tension enough volume and you will grow as long as u get the right nutrition and sleep. At the gym its to easy to ego lift and recruit other muscle groups to assist u rather than keeping the targeted muscle isolated.

  • I order one from out of state in March it came today spent about 30 or 40 dollars it has no instructions and doesn’t have no how much pounds of resistance of each bands.
