  • I started getting these lower back right side pain three days ago. It’s really annoying. Could not sleep all night, took some paracetamol the next morning, pain went away and the next night it came back again. Took more medication and it went away.

  • I’m a 75 year old guy and have started using one of those big yoga balls to bend my spine. I can lay across it on my belly to stretch out my back. Or, on either side to stretch out muscles that seldom get stretched. The biggest surprise was laying on my back on the ball and relaxing the muscles in the front of my body. It had been a long time since they got stretched but I now stand taller and straighter. I imagine it is good for the spine to become more flexible by doing such exercises.

  • Im in so much pain iv bitten some of my teeth out. I wake up screaming and sweating and my eyes are dry from tears flowing from my now emotionless face.     My doctor says my spine looks perfect.. and I have good posture..

    I tried to lift a tree chunk off of the road and something in my back mustve snapped.. I felt nothing special at first, but when I woke up the next morning, I had this pain..

    I try to stay active and jog, the pain is only during certain movements, such as when I shape my lower back hollow, by moving my ass backwards. (if that makes sense)

    The pain does sometimes shift to my right leg, and I can feel it shift all the way to my foot somtimes.

    The pain itself resides only in the lowest part of my back, and it seems to be on the right side of my spine somewhere..

    This is ruining my life:( I just want to go to the gym and lift..
    I have no idea what to do.

  • You forgot pelvic tilts and supta bada konasana. Both great for pain relief and relaxing the muscles, I’ve got spinal stenosis, retrolisthesis and bulging discs so I know just a bit about how to relieve back pain, these are great exercises though. I was diagnosed with stenosis 7 years ago, I was 38, and after physio, I started practicing yoga. Best thing I ever did because I’m doing my yoga teacher training next January. I was lucky I had a great teacher and I want to be that teacher for those who think they can’t practice yoga. I called the studio because I was concerned about the ashtanga yoga part of the course, it kills my back, and the attitude of the woman I spoke to was brilliant. She told me that yoga needs more people like me who aren’t a cookie cutter version of what a yoga teacher should be and that was so encouraging. Sorry to ramble on but I just wanted to share my story, who knows, I might inspire someone out there xx

  • these are actually the techniques I’ve learned helps my broken back.. i have chronic pain. I HAVE TO stretch every morning, just to function at all. I would also recommend placing a cushion under your hips/butt, too.. often I’ll hear a little “pop” as my sacrum realigns. Cannabis and my chiropractor, along with good keto diet and light exercises are my best pain killers.

    Try not to sit too long and watch how you lift things.. always try to bend at the knee when lifting or picking something up off the floor.

  • Just sharing, months ago, i was having really painful back after deadlift. I just started training again after break. What i did was I kinda force myself to do benchpress, and push with my chest and back. I don’t know how and why, but the lower back pain immediately gone after that. It was really weird.

  • A bulging disc is often a reason for back pain. Maintaining the arch in your back when this or other exercises is the way to go as you are demonstrating. I’ll add this exercise to the other ones to help a bulging disc.

  • You need something to remind you of your posture in those moments when you’re not thinking of it like when your sleeping or driving or sitting at the desk at your office. For me all three of those things apply to my pain and I didn’t even realize it until I addressed it. I personally have a long commute to work and it’s hard to stay focused on your posture when you have to sit in the car for hours and this product ( https://amzn.to/2tdVPpi) really helped with my lower back pain within the first week. It just takes time to retrain your spine to hold its natural curve but once you do you can really feel the difference.

  • I feel like my pain is different than what’s described in this video. It hurts/feels stiff when I bend over to touch the floor and when I go into a backbend. When I avoid those movements there’s no pain. It only hurts with bending. Along with that my legs feel tired/fatigued when I wake up and at the end of the day it’s worse. It feels like they’re never fully rested. It feels like I’ve been on my feet all day. When I drive for a long time I get random shoots of pain in my legs/hip sometimes. Stretching doesn’t help. Yoga makes it worse. Chiro said I have a over pronounced curve in my spine (belly protruding forward too much) Help

  • First, thank you for all of your help. You are helping me fix my lower back issues. One thing I’ve discovered, could just be me, but when ever I focus on the weight distribution on my feet and concentrate that weight and push off on the smallest point of my heel (achieved by lifting the majority of my foot off the ground so that only my heel is touching) it really causes my glutes to engage.
    Otherwise, if my feet are flat on the floor I feel as if I’m pushing more with the ball and toes which makes my quads bear the load completely neglecting my glutes. That small little detail, literally simple as pushing off on the different parts of my foot, will engage two completely different muscle groups.

I saw a new Doctor, told him the history and he sent me to a specialist. within a week I was operated on had vertebrates all out of alinement, spinal cord stretched not broken in other words all broken three very bad and two not so bad, they gave me a back fusion with bone chips from my hip to help support with titanium rods. much better now. but have a continuing ache. I had a cow fall on me over 40 years ago hence the back. Now the worst thing of all for back pain is worrying your body tenses up in the lower back muscles worry make you hold those muscles tight all the time then you are in lots of pain. I am in my 80s now and still need pain relief. Just getting a bill in the post can be a worry. Or will I catch the train on time? you get the drift.
