Coach Alexia Lewis is a registered dietitian, licensed (FL) dietitian / nutritionist, and certified health coach and personal trainer who believes life is better with science, humor, and delicious food. After surviving a heart attack in 2007 and battling with her weight for most of her adult life, she changed her career to spread the word about how food choices and activity can influence health.

This business, N.E.W. Motivation Coaching was founded in 2016. N.E.W. stands for nutrition, exercise, wellness. Coach Alexia is ready to help you balance these three aspects of a healthy lifestyle.

She found her passion in coaching as it allows her to become a partner to help people find their unique best way to reach their health goals. Alexia specializes in coaching people who are ready to ditch the diet mentality and shift focus to health improvement through quality nutrition, enjoyable activity, and finding balance with health and wellness. She promotes a realistic, flexible, small-steps approach that fits into people’s lifestyles no matter how busy they are.

Alexia is also an engaging health and wellness speaker and published author. She has coached thousands of patients and clients and is now paying it forward by helping other coaches polish their coaching skills.


CREDENTIALS

We only staff health professionals with accredited training, hands-on experience, and state licensure (where required). Our coaches have completed accredited educational programs, had hands-on competency-based internships, and/or have passed national registration or certification exams.

We also partner with dietetic interns and undergraduates in health-related fields who are working towards becoming health professionals to help them build their skills to attain licensure and certification.

EXPERIENCE

Alexia has worked with a variety of clients in workplace wellness, clinical outpatient settings, and private practice. Patient and clients include people managing their weight, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and pre-diabetes, PCOS, anemia, food sensitivities and allergies. Others have wanted to transition to a plant-based eating plan, break free of dieting, tweak their nutrition and activity habits, or are concerned about the additives in our foods and organic & sustainable eating.

Alexia’s most recent role has been as Coaching & Quality Coordinator for a population health management company of approximately 500 employees where she oversees patient-facing content and trains health coaches on delivering effective coaching and presentations. She has taught undergraduate courses at the University of North Florida on Coaching & Counseling Techniques and Food Science and has served as a preceptor for dietetic interns and mentor for nutrition undergraduates to help them prepare for a career in health and nutrition.

Coach Alexia has delivered over 60 presentations, workshops, healthy eating groups since 2006. Alexia has also taught undergraduate nutrition courses at the University of North Florida including Food Fundamentals, Food Science Laboratory, Introduction to Human Nutrition, Nutrition Education, and Nutrition Counseling and Communication. She produced 2 continuing education courses for health professionals through Professional Development Resources in a “Basics & Beyond” series on Celiac Disease and Lactose Intolerance.

She has co-authored one book 200 Surefire Ways to Eat Well and Feel Better, self-published 2 e-books Celiac Disease: The Basics and Beyond and Holiday Survival Guide: How to Enjoy the Holidays without Sabotaging Your Health and has authored articles for web and print media.
